NEW YORK -- Director Benno Schoberth's Shelter took home the IFP/New York's works-in-progress completion award when the organization's annual IFP market wrapped Thursday night with a ceremony hosted by Rosie Perez. The film -- about three inner-city teens holed up in a makeshift beachhouse -- won the award worth $85,000 in goods and services. Gretchen Berland and Mike Majoros' Rolling won the works-in-progress documentary award and $10,000 in cash. The film tells its story from the perspective of wheelchair-bound subjects.
