Nathan Scott was born on May 11, 1915 in Salinas, California, USA. He was a composer, known for The Color Purple (1985), Rose of the Yukon (1949) and High Anxiety (1977). He was married to Frances and Margery Wright. He died on February 27, 2010 in Sherman Oaks, California, USA.

His first job in Hollywood was at NBC -- as a parking-lot attendant. In 1942, he was hired as a music director at the predecessor of ABC, but was inducted into the Army later that year.
