Message From the King
Director: Fabrice du Welz // Writers: Oliver Butcher, Stephen Cornwell
Belgian director Fabrice du Welz announced himself with a memorable debut over a decade ago with 2004’s Calvaire, a film meant to be the first chapter in his loosely related Ardennes trilogy. Fascinating, bizarre, and perhaps the most successfully strange and unnerving auteur since Lynch, du Welz’s next two features were treated to problematic releases, including 2008’s underrated Vinyan, and the 2014 debacle, Colt 45, which was yanked out of the director’s hands and released in France (it has yet to reach the Us). But 2014 also marked a strong return for du Welz with the excellent Alleluia, the second part of his Ardennes trilogy, reuniting him with star Laurent Lucas and providing Lola Duenas with one of the best roles of her career. It was announced that du Welz was also working on another feature, Children of the Gun,...

Books have been a mainstay in Hollywood's never-ending search for film ideas, and while the adage "you should read the book" will never leave the mouths of frustrated moviegoers, a few more tomes have been picked up for film adaptation. As usual, there may be a few who are disappointed.
Young Adult fans might be familiar with author Libba Bray's "Gemma Doyle Trilogy," but probably less so with her upcoming "The Diviners." Set for release in September, "The Diviners" is the first of what will be a four-part series that will follow Evie O'Neill, a young New York transplant, who must use her mysterious powers to stop a series of occult-based murders. Since the book has yet to be published, we're sure that there's not many who will be bummed that their favorite book might get compromised on its way to the big screen. Berkley is playing a speed freak-turned-Jesus freak whose sentiments about ridding the world of its exponential sin are rivaled only by her infatuation with her dreamy pastor.
Evigan, repped by Gersh and Luber Roklin Entertainment, starred in Step Up 2 the Streets and appears on NBC's summer series Fear Itself.
Berkley, of Showgirls and Saved by the Bell fame, recently wrapped a stint on CSI: Miami and completed filming The Butlers in Love, directed by David Arquette. She is repped by Innovative Artists and Kritzer Levine Wilkins Entertainment.
