A judge in Brazil has called for the arrest of Google's most senior executive in the South American country after the company failed to take down YouTube videos as ordered. Judge Flavio Peren, who sits at a regional electoral court in Mato Grosso do Sul state, called for Google Brazil president Fabio Jose Silva Coelho to be arrested on Monday. This followed a takedown order last week on YouTube videos that were claimed to be slanderous toward Alcides Bernal, who is a candidate running for mayor in the city of Campo Grande. One video clip, uploaded by the user "Paraiba Humor", seized on a verbal slip by the candidate in a montage, which remarked: "What an idiot - give him an F!" Google executives were held responsible for removing the videos under the 1965 Electoral Code, which bans campaign ads that "offend the dignity or decorum" of a candidate. (more)...
