The film marks the sequel to 2016 release A Streecat Named Bob and is on track to complete post production at Twickenham Studios in time for a 2020 December holiday season release.

Harry Potter and Cinderella producer David Barron is lining up his first long form TV drama with an adaptation of acclaimed 2018 detective novel A Treachery Of Spies, a historical thriller which starts with a murder in 1940s WWII France and unfurls its mysteries into the present day with a brilliant but haunted female detective as the lead.
Barron’s London-based BeaglePug outfit and UK firm Enriched Media have secured all TV, film and ancillary rights to the bestseller and the companies say they are in talks with U.S. and UK players for the TV rights.
The companies acquired the adaptation rights to Manda Scott’s novel from Emily Hayward Whitlock at The Artists Partnership working in association with Robert Caskie at Robert Caskie Ltd.
A Treachery of Spies is the second of Scott’s espionage thriller trilogy to feature female Detective Inspector Inès Picaut and will be the first to be adapted.

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment (Uphe) Content Group will handle the international roll -out of Paul Schrader’s First Reformed, which received its UK premiere at Sundance London last week.
Ethan Hawke stars as a tormented priest in the film, which co-stars Amanda Seyfried and Cedric the Entertainer.
Uphe Content Group, which specialises in multi-platform releasing on a worldwide basis, will oversee the release of the film in multiple foreign territories - and will look to give it theatrical play where appropriate. This follows on from the film’s Us launch through A24 in mid-May.

The feature-length project, the directorial debut of Glaswegian filmmaker Eirene Houston, explores the evolution of the Cuban people through their passion for dancing.
The film explores the roots of Cuba’s famous son and salsa dancing, and how traditional dance has been challenged by ‘Reggaeton’.
Houston previously wrote the screenplay for Day Of The Flowers, a comedy drama starring Cuban ballet star Carlos Acosta which premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival.
Houston worked with writer and director Hugo Rivalta, and cinematographer and documentary maker Roberto Chile on The Cuban Way.

Led by Mick Southworth and Martin McCabe, Feature Film Company has announced the start of pre-production for James Bannon’s memoir about his time as an undercover cop in the 1980s, which saw him infiltrate some of English football’s most brutal hooligan gangs.
A joint venture with its new UK funding partner Omeira - which is providing a minimum £10m of production investment in the first year – the Feature Film Company will initially produce up to four low to medium budget, commercially-oriented ‘genre’ movies a year for theatrical release in the UK and international sales worldwide.

British indie distribution company the Works U.K. Distribution said Saturday it has all U.K. distribution rights to Adam Green's "Hatchet", from Echo Bridge Entertainment. The Works said it plans to release the movie, billed as "an old school horror," in theaters at the end of the summer to coincide with the U.S. release. The Works U.K. Distribution managing director Mick Southworth said: "We are delighted to be working with Echo Bridge on this fantastic film. 'Hatchet' is a fresh exciting horror film with the sort of internet buzz that really excites cinema audiences in the U.K."

German rights group Intertainment, which was recently acquired by Kinowelt Group, trimmed its losses to €10.3 million last year from a staggering €22.2 million in 2005. Sales revenue, however, dropped to just €1.3 million against €17.9 million in 2005. The bulk of Intertainment's revenue came from world sales on Philip Kaufmann thriller "Twisted" (2004). Kinowelt is currently moving to merge Intertainment with Epsilon Motion Pictures, the rights group Kinowelt acquired from the insolvent KirchGroup.

LONDON -- U.K. independent distributor The Works U.K. Distribution has signed an exclusive home entertainment output deal with Universal Pictures U.K., the companies said Wednesday. The pact will see Universal Pictures U.K. release movies from the Works U.K. Distribution stable of theatrical releases on video and DVD in the U.K. The Works will continue to release movies theatrically in the U.K. The pact was brokered by managing director Mick Southworth and director of marketing Laurence Gornall for The Works U.K. Distribution, and joint managing director Johnny Fewings for Universal Pictures U.K.

LONDON -- U.K. film financier and sales company Civilian Content, whose shares are listed on the Alternative Investment Market here, said Wednesday it has set up a U.K. distribution arm. Branded the Works U.K. Distribution, the new operation is headed by industry veteran Mick Southworth, and will complement the company's existing international sales arm known as the Works. In a statement issued to the stock exchange Wednesday, Civilian Content said that the new arm aims to send a message to the market that the company is looking to "diversify" its business and seeking vertical integration from the development stage through distribution.
