Exclusive: The co-chairman of Independent Talent Group, the UK agency that reps Claire Foy and Daniel Craig, has stepped back from his management role, with three agents joining its board.
Paul Lyon-Maris, who has repped the likes of Catherine Zeta-Jones and Derek Jacobi, is no longer a director of the firm but will remain as an agent within the company, Deadline is told.
Lyon-Maris is being replaced on the board by a trio of agents: Jessica Sykes, Jane Epstein and Paul Stevens. Founder Duncan Heath remains as Chairman and MD Sally Long-Innes is Co-Chair.
“I am delighted to welcome Jane, Paul and Jess to the board,” Heath, who has been running Independent under its current name for more than 15 years, told Deadline.

Matthew Perry’s death on Oct. 28 has sent fans into mourning. It has also led many to revisit some of Perry’s greatest work, including his breakout role in Friends and the movie roles that came after it. His contribution to Friends was immense. The actor clearly took the character of Chandler Bing and made it his own. His acting helped elevate the ensemble cast. Still, Perry’s contributions to the series were far more varied than you might think. In fact, he is the reason Bruce Willis agreed to appear on Friends. Perry is also the reason Willis opted to donate his entire paycheck from his three-episode story arc on the series.
Why did Bruce Willis appear on ‘Friends’?
Bruce Willis did not want to appear on a TV show in the early 2000s. Willis was a movie star in every way possible. That doesn’t mean he was...

Moonlighting was Bruce Willis’s big break. He’d done a Miami Vice and Twilight Zone right before but he didn’t totally leave TV behind when movies beckoned. Willis appeared in four TV series after the Die Hard franchise began and Moonlighting ended.

Over two decades after taking home his second Primetime Emmy, Bruce Willis remains the only person to pull off victories in both the Best Drama Actor and Best Comedy Guest Actor categories. He first triumphed as the star of “Moonlighting” in 1987 and was then honored for appearing in the sixth season of “Friends” in 2000. On the latter show, he played Paul Stevens, the father of a young woman romantically involved with main character Ross Geller. Over the course of three episodes, Paul embarks on a relationship of his own with central ensemble member Rachel Green that lasts until his odd behavior becomes too much to bear.
Although he was 45 at the time of his “Friends” win and thus classifiable as middle-aged, Willis was initially the third youngest champion in the history of his guest category. More than 20 years later, he has now fallen to 10th place on the list. Of...

It has been a long time since Friends, so a lot of people might not recall that Bruce Willis showed up in three episodes of Season 6 of the sitcom. To be exact, he showed up as a character named Paul Stevens, who happened to have been the father of Elizabeth Stevens, who was Ross’s girlfriend in Season 6. Since Ross was Elizabeth’s professor, Paul was less than pleased by their relationship, which was not helped by the fact that he happened to be rather over-protective of his daughter. Over the course of the three episodes, a fair amount of

"This land is mine, God made this land for me." Those are just song lyrics, while Otto Preminger's politically daring 70mm mega-production is a lot more subtle in its presentation of the 'Palestinian problem' that led to the formation of the State of Israel. After a restored print played for the first time at the 2015 Toronto Film Festival, Kino Lorber presents Julian Roffman’s 1961 vintage horror film The Mask on 3D Blu-ray. Collectors of vintage 3D technology and classic horror cinema should take note, especially for the film’s expressive, nightmarish sequences. Hailed as ‘psychedlic’ and repackaged as a psychotronic classic, the title is a fun throwback to event cinema.
Owning several notable distinctions, not only was it the first Canadian film widely distributed in the United States, but it was also the only 3D feature from the country to play here, as well as the Canada’s first foray into the genre. It’s the last of only two titles directed by Roffman, who would eventually produce a small handful of films (including the obscure early 70s delight The Pyx).

- Lots of glossy business cards will be exchanged during the 4th edition of International Financing Forum (Iff) (which takes place during Tiff). In what I imagine is like a speed dating between producers looking for coin and those looking to finance the next hot film project. There are a slew of names/projects from established filmmakers (Hany Abu-Assad, Terrence Davies and Kevin Macdonald) and some first-time directors among the 43 listed below that have caught over attention. Hany Abu-Assad is taking on what I imagine would be a controversial biopic - attaching himself to Arafat with his Paradise Now producer, Roman Paul. Paul produced Waltz with Bashir, and the upcoming (we'll be talking about this one in 2010), Womb. I'd be surprised if Tony Grisoni took a day off in the past 24 months, he has penned a truck load of projects and would embark on his feature filmmaking debut with Kingsland.
