A couple years ago, screenwriter Peter Atkins – who worked on the scripts for the first three Hellraiser sequels – published his original screenplay for the famously troubled fourth film, Hellraiser: Bloodline (the script is available for purchase at This Link), saying, “Whilst you’ll never get to see a Director’s Cut of Hellraiser: Bloodline, you can read in this book what was supposed to be…” But even though the production was too complicated for us to ever see a proper director’s cut, there is a “newly uncovered workprint version” – and it’s going to be included in Arrow Video’s upcoming 4K box set release of the first four Hellraiser movies!
Arrow Video’s Hellraiser: Quartet of Torment box set is available for pre-order Here and will be released on October 23rd. This is a UK release, but 4K discs are region free.

Over the decades, Clive Barker has given life to the creatures from his expansive imagination not only in his enduring books, but also through paintings, drawings, and jottings that tell stories of their own. The first two Imaginer art books have collected Barker’s popular characters and lesser-known (but equally important) creations, and the newly announced third volume looks to continue the tradition.
Presented by The Clive Barker Archive (operated by Phil and Sarah Stokes), Imaginer Volume III is now available to pre-order in three different editions: regular ($100), deluxe ($400), and “with thanks” deluxe ($750). The book is set to be published this summer.
Below, we have additional details and a look at the cover art and some of the artwork that will appear in the book. To learn more about Imaginer Volume III, visit:

A lot of Fango readers have really gotten behind the push for a proper release of the Nightbreed Director's Cut...
In an update of a story that began in Fangoria #284 and continued online here and here, Phil and Sarah Stokes from Clive Barker Revelations report that they've already received more that 1,200 messages of support thus far, many of which they have posted on their official site.
For those just learning of this, the quick version is that the elements for an extended release are accessible, but there is no studio interest in a restoration or re-release. Recently a 145-minute workprint was discovered on VHS - a cut that is 44 minutes longer than the theatrical release.
"Well, we knew there were a lot of fans out there, but Boy!! As is self-evident from the long, long listing below, we've had a bulging in-box with 1,200 wonderful e-mails and tweets in the three...

Updated 6/9/09: Barker just announced via his twitter account that Phil and Sarah Stokes, who maintain his official website, have a video copy of his work print of Nightbreed that is 44 minutes longer than the theatrical cut. "Now all we need is somebody to fund the reconstruction of what was always intended to be Celebration of the Shamanic Outsider," says Barker. Fans who've long been clamoring for a director's cut of Clive Barker's fascinating Nightbreed now have reason to hope, if not yet outright rejoice: the film's once believed lost footage has been located by Barker's friend Mark Miller. Now the trick is getting the company that owns the footage...

Fangoria just ran an article about a Nightbreed director's cut being shot down by a "higher up." Supposedly the unnamed person said that there is not a market for a new Nightbreed DVD or even a blu-ray release, and I kinda agree with him. I'm a Huge Clive Barker fan but Nightbreed was one of my least favorite films based off of his books. However, Phil and Sarah Stokes who run Barker's official website seem to disagree with me, and are encouraging fans who would like to see a new version of the film, with new missing footage, to contact them at philandsarah@clivebarker.info - or send them a message at their Twitter account. So is there a demand for a "a properly restored, Clive Barker-approved release of Nightbreed? If you think so, then make sure you check out Fangoria's entire article here, and leave us some comments below to show your support.

On page 55 of Fangoria #284, our 30th Anniversary Issue, cover artist and horror legend Clive Barker dropped some details on the possibility of unearthing the lost footage from his 1990 film, Nightbreed (pictured left on the cover of Fangoria #90).
"I have a friend, Mark Miller, who came to me and said, 'I want to pursue the missing Nightbreed material. I have some time off from my work. I want to do this.' I said, 'Well, there's no money, Mark. There's nothing in it for you except a huge thanks from me and from many, many, many fans if you were to be successful..."
Tonight I received an email with more details on the "missing" footage, and how You can help it to be seen for the very first time...
