Adieu au langage - Goodbye to Language
A Works Cited
Introduction
From its bluntly political opening (Alfredo Bandelli's 'La caccia alle streghe': "Always united we win, long live the revolution!") to its hilarious fecal humor and word play—with 3D staging that happily puts to shame James Cameron and every other hack who's tried their hand at it these past several years—Adieu au langage overwhelms us with a deluge of recited texts, music and images, hardly ever bothering to slow down to let us catch our breath. Exhilarating and certainly not surprising—this is the guy who made Puissance de la parole after all!
The release of a new Godard film or video means a new encounter with texts, films and music often familiar from the filmmaker's earlier work—reworked and re-contextualized—as well as new discoveries to be sorted through and identified. This life-long interest in quotation...

Roger Lloyd-Pack was originally scripted into the new 'Only Fools and Horses' sketch. The late Trigger actor - who passed away in January following a battle with pancreatic cancer - had expressed his desire to star in the charity special with Sir David Jason, Nicholas Lyndhurst and football legend David Beckham before his untimely passing. The new sketch was written by Jim and Dan Sullivan, the sons of show creator John Sullivan, who passed away in 2011. Jim said: ''It has been emotional, and dad was never far from our thoughts during the whole process. ''And, of course, we were all shocked and saddened...

New York, Mar 7: Shia Labeouf took to Twitter to hit back at Alec Baldwin, after he suggested that his former 'Orphans' co-star was not made for Broadway.
Labeouf tweeted an e-mail from director Dan Sullivan that implied Baldwin had not rehearsed for the play, the New York Post reported.
In the e-mail, Sullivan wrote that Labeouf should not be too surprised if Baldwin doesn't look up from his script much for the first few days.
Sullivan said that he suspected that Baldwin is not nearly as prepared as Labeouf is, which is not at all unusual when actors have a good long rehearsal time like they have.

As previously reported by The GossipCenter, Shia Labeouf has left the Broadway production “Orphans” due to creative differences with costar Alec Baldwinv, and now he’s posted some emails that resulted in the aftermath.
The “Constantine” actor apologizes “for my part of a disagreeable situation,” in a message to director Dan Sullivan, who replies, “I’m too old for disagreeable situations. You’re one hell of a great actor. Alec is who he is. You are who you are. You two are incompatible. This one will haunt me. You tried to warn me. You said you were a different breed. I didn’t get it.”
Alec also wrote to Shia, saying, “I’ve been through this before. It’s been a while. And perhaps some of the particulars are different. But it comes down to the fact that what we all do now is critical. Perhaps especially for you. When the change comes,...

Shia Labeouf has departed the cast of 'Orphans' due to 'creative differences' - a claim he appears to dispute. The 26-year-old actor was due to make his Broadway debut alongside Alec Baldwin in the production - which tells the tale of two orphaned brothers who grow to regard a gangster they attempt to kidnap as a father figure - but producers say he has parted ways with the show after a week of rehearsals. However, in an apparent attempt to deny he had been involved in any such 'differences', Shia took to Twitter to post a series of emails exchanged between himself, Alec and the production's director Dan Sullivan. The message from Dan read: 'I'm too old for disagreeable situations.

Just hours after announcing he will not be in the Broadway production of “Orphans,” Shia Labeouf shared personal emails about his exit from the show on Wednesday (February 20).
Citing creative differences with the producers, the “Transformers” hunk bowed out of the role of Treat in the Daniel Sullivan play, which is slated to open on April 7.
Allowing everyone in on the details of his departure, Labeuof posted screen shots of the emails he traded between would-be co-stars Alec Baldwin and Tom Sturridge, as well as an apology letter he wrote to the creative team.
The email response from Mr. Sullivan indicated that the creative differences lied between Shia and Baldwin. Explaining that the two were incompatible, the director wrote, “I’m too old for disagreeable situations. You’re on hell of a great actor. Alec is who he is. You are who you are. You two are incompatible. I should have known it.

If you’re anywhere near San Diego, I highly recommend going to see the new musical, Limelight: The Story of Charlie Chaplin at the La Jolla Playhouse.
Written by Tony Award winner Thomas Meehan (Hairspray, The Producers, Annie) with music and lyrics by Christopher Curtis, it follows Chaplin’s life from his early days in London, his rise to be the greatest film star in the world and his downfall from scandal.
The show is fantastic and one reasons for that is its star, Rob McClure. He plays Chaplin and from the moment he walks on stage to the minute the show is over, you will have witnessed something special. I seriously cannot say enough good things about his performance.
I talked to Rob about the show, his research, how he got his equity card and a whole lot more! (And be sure to check out his incredible advice to actors!
