A lot of stand-up comedians have bad nights, but only a select few get leaked to mainstream media and prove to be TMZ fodder. But that’s just what happened to Nick Swardson at a recent gig, showing up on stage inebriated to the point that he couldn’t go on with his act and was escorted off stage.
In clips that surfaced online, Nick Swardson is seen repeatedly saying, “Here we go” and referring to Jason Statham in The Beekeeper, teasing an impression that never quite materialized in the way Swardson probably intended. This was quickly greeted with boos and walk-outs. At one point he asks, “Do you want me to finish this or no?” Tickets buyers did not, to which Swardson sloppily responded, “But what if… I finish this?” He was not allowed to finish his set, being taken off stage around 20 minutes in. At this point, a stage manager told the crowd,...

Comic Nick Swardson is following up a disastrous performance in Colorado with a promise to “make it up” to the town where he was escorted from the stage 20 minutes into his stand-up set.
On Sunday at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek, an admittedly inebriated Swardson, 47, was removed from the stage to the sounds of an angry crowd booing him after he stammered through what appeared to be a nonsensical opening during his headlining appearance. On Tuesday, the Grandma’s Boy actor issued a statement about the incident.
“Just casually woke up on TMZ,” he wrote on X, referencing the news website’s article about the tanked performance. “Travel tip: don’t drink and take edibles in high altitude. F—ing brain diarrhea. I’ll make it up to you Beaver Creek!”
The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to representatives of Swardson for further comment on the incident,...

The animation team is firing on all cylinders."On why it pulled in the viewers, he continued: "Look, I think Leo resonated for the same reason The Sea Beast did last year. People love it. It’s a cool indie weekend when the new album by André 3000, New Blue Sun, has morphed into a “cinematic listening experience.” Variance Films is putting the experience, directed by Terence Nance, into three theaters in NYC (IFC Center), LA (Cinepolis Inglewood) and Atlanta (Tara).
Right now, it’s just those locations but after this weekend, “We will see what happens, where the wind takes us,” said Variance CEO Dylan Marchetti. “I swear, I wanted to make a ‘visual album’ but this is literally the way the wind blew me this time,” André has said.
Asked what’s is on the screen, Marchetti said, “Vibes.”
New Blue Sun, out today, is André’s debut solo album, his first full-length LP since his group Outkast released its last record 17 years ago. He described it as “an entirely instrumental album centered around woodwinds; a celebratory piece of work in the form of a living,...

For a movie that's mostly about how friendships are forever, the 2010 Adam Sandler comedy "Grown Ups" may have had fans wondering about a conspicuously missing face from the sequel. For much of Sandler's career on the big screen, he's been joined by longtime friend and collaborator Rob Schneider. Starting with 1998's "The Waterboy," the two actors have appeared in well over a dozen movies together, from the likes of "Mr. Deeds" and "The Longest Yard" to even an animated movie like "Eight Crazy Nights." Contrary to recent rumors, the bond still seems to be going strong as the two ended up joining forces again in 2017's "Sandy Wexler" and once more in "Hubie Halloween" three years ago. But that hasn't stopped fans from wondering why, after such a prominent role in "Grown Ups," Schneider didn't return for another go-around in "Grown Ups 2."

In the star-studded animated film Leo, Adam Sandler plays a 74-year-old lizard. Being imprisoned in a routine is exhausting, especially when you’re a lizard locked inside the bounds of a small terrarium.
Viewers will glimpse the title character’s glass box in Netflix’s forthcoming animated film Leo. But Leo is eager to discover more for himself, keen to make the most of the time he has left on earth. Netflix released the official trailer before the film’s November 21 launch.

Netflix animated “Leo” stars Adam Sandler as an elderly lizard living in a Florida classroom who decides to escape after being told he only has one year to live.
While the premise sounds endearingly wacky, writer-producer Sandler makes the animated film a family affair with daughters Sadie and Sunny Sandler, plus wife Jackie Sandler, co-starring. Sunny Sandler recently led breakout Netflix teen film “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah.”

Adam Sandler long ago perfected the art of working with his friends. So what’s next? Now, he’s taking that same approach of working with people he already knows and loves to generate a platform, through his Happy Madison production shingle and streaming giant Netflix, for his own daughters Sunny and Sadie Sandler to shine.
Is it still nepotism if it’s this blatant? Probably — but in an added twist, Sandler’s choice to bolster his daughters comes with a pleasant surprise: it works, and well.
Directed by Sammi Cohen, this new entry in the Sandler-family-business model, “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah” is an endearing take on the coming-of-age tween film, with a heavy dose of religion — in the best way. Sunny Sandler stars as Stacy, a sweet 13-year-old who dreams of a blow-out bash bat mitzvah, one heavy on the New York City influences and Lmfao bangers,...

Netflix has released the first trailer for its upcoming animated movie musical Leo, which sees the actor and comedian re-teaming with his daughters Sadie and Sunny in a film about an aging class pet who discovers he has just one year left to live.
Produced by Happy Madison and directed by Robert Marianetti, Robert Smigel and David Wachtenheim, Leo follows Sandler’s 74-year-old lizard who learns he doesn’t have much time left. As his Florida elementary school students prepare for their last year, Leo follows suit, deciding that his last year will be spent differently than his previous decades with terrarium-mate turtle (Bill Burr).
“I got a feeling this year’s gonna be different,” Leo says in the nearly minute-and-a-half first look. “Something big is going to happen.”

“Back to school. Back to school. Back to school.” It’s the end of the summer, and many are singing the back-to-school song that Adam Sandler once sang in his beloved classic, Billy Madison. Even Adam Sandler. Netflix has released the trailer for their newest animated original for the whole family, Leo. Sandler plays the titular Leo — the class pet lizard. Joining Sandler in an against-type of role is comedian Bill Burr, whose normal profanity-laced humor takes a break in lieu of family-friendly comedy. Here, Burr plays the class pet turtle who shares the terrarium with Leo.

Throughout Adam Sandler's deeply wide-ranging career, the talented actor has delivered some pretty wild performances that have ping-ponged from one extreme to the other. After his run through the '90s and early aughts included hits like "Happy Gilmore," "The Wedding Singer," and especially "Punch-Drunk Love," he more or less lapsed into autopilot mode with several undemanding comedies before roaring back to life with "Sandy Wexler," "The Meyerowitz Stories," and "Uncut Gems." Well, now audiences are about to see Sandler as they never have before: as a lizard.

Adam Sandler stars in a Netflix movie of a different sort in the first teaser trailer for the original animated film “Leo,” which he also co-wrote with longtime collaborator Robert Smigel.
Described as a “coming-of-age musical comedy,” Sandler voices a 74-year-old lizard who’s been stuck in the same Florida classroom for decades. When he discovers he only has one year left to live (grim stuff!), he plots an escape — only to get “caught up in the problems of his anxious students.”
The animated film was directed by the trio of Robert Marianetti, Robert Smigel and David Wachtenheim. The screenplay was written by Robert Smigel, Adam Sandler, Paul Sado. “Leo” was produced by Happy Madison.
“Leo” will be streaming on Netflix on Nov. 21, just in time for Thanksgiving.

"Let us play!!" Paramount Movies has revealed a funny trailer for Buddy Games: Spring Awakening, a surprise sequel to Josh Duhamel's bro comedy Buddy Games from 2019. The gang go back to where it all began - Spring Break! After the death of one of their own, Bobfather and the boys steal the urn and go on a trip to commemorate his life at the place where the Buddy Games began, but everything goes wrong when they find themselves in the middle of a spring break party they're a bit too old for now. The wild and crazy comedy stars the old crew Dan Bakkedahl, Kevin Dillon, Josh Duhamel, and Nick Swardson, plus James Roday Rodriguez, Lochlyn Munro, Ginnifer Goodwin and Jensen Ackles. I can appreciate the premise this time which seems to be: what if this isn't fun anymore, why are these people doing this?! Ha. The rest of it looks suitably ridiculous,...

The holidays are sizzlin’ in “Reno 911!: It’s a Wonderful Heist,” a Christmas-themed sequel to the Emmy-nominated “The Hunt for QAnon.” Can the Reno Sheriff’s Department score another bid for Best TV Movie?
Jim Dangle (Thomas Lennon) is bemoaning his rotten luck – and Matt Damon’s Crypto.com ad – when Terry (Nick Swardson) arrives in the form of an angel to show the downtrodden lieutenant what Reno would look like had he never donned his iconic hotpants to patrol its streets. After delivering on the reference to Frank Capra’s 1946 classic, “It’s a Wonderful Heist” “unloads the funniest, weirdest gags that [Kerri Kenney-Silver] and Lennon can devise without resorting to cheap gimmicks, like character development or narrative tension,” writes Matt Schimkowitz (The A.V. If you’re a comedy fan, this week’s Netflix addition of 30 Minutes or Less is likely to be right up your alley. The 2011 flick is a fast-paced and hilarious romp guaranteed to get some laughs out of you, especially if you’re into its stellar cast.
30 Minutes or Less stars Jesse Eisenberg as a pizza delivery guy who lives a fairly tame life, but when a chance encounter with two criminals leads to his kidnapping, he’s forced to adapt to an unhinged world of terror and excitement. With a bomb strapped to his chest, he needs to infiltrate and rob a bank in thirty minutes or less, and as expected, plenty of hijinks are certain to take place in order to make that happen.
The film also stars Aziz Ansari, Danny McBride and Nick Swardson in roles that couldn’t be any better suited for them, but...

Jesse Eisenberg‘s signature fast-talking and neurotic acting style lends itself perfectly well to being the put-upon straight man in the comedy genre, so it came as little surprise when he used it as a springboard to mainstream success. The first major leading role of his career was in 2009’s warmly received Adventureland, but it was the release of Zombieland six months later that gave him his first genuine box office hit after the movie raked in over $100 million on a $23 million budget.
Proving there were many more strings to his bow, Eisenberg followed that up with an Academy Award nominated performance in David Fincher’s The Social Network, before reteaming with Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer for another stab at high concept action comedy. The actor played a pizza delivery boy who ends up getting kidnapped by two wannabe criminal geniuses in 30 Minutes or Less, and they strap a bomb...

"Is it injured? Because it doesn't feel good." This is one big "bro-fest" with, uh, a couple of women - mainly Olivia Munn. Saban Films has released the first official trailer for Buddy Games, marking the directorial debut of actor Josh Duhamel, who also co-wrote the script and stars in this ridiculous comedy. A group of friends who have fallen out reunite to participate in the "Buddy Games", an insanely wild assortment of absurd physical and mental challenges. In the process, they'll heal old wounds, right past wrongs and figure out the true meaning of friendship... or die trying. The full ensemble cast features Dan Bakkedahl, Kevin Dillon, Olivia Munn, James Roday, Dax Shepard, and Nick Swardson. Sad to say this looks even stupider than all of the "Jackass" movies, which are at least authentic. This is just dumb games with CGI on top and other ridiculousness thrown in. Not for me.
