Celebrity chef Marco Pierre White has confirmed that his autobiography is being adapted into a film and that Michael Fassbender has "first option on the script".
Speaking to Digital Spy about pre-production on the movie - based on his memoir The Devil in the Kitchen - the TV star and restaurateur explained that The Martian filmmaker Ridley Scott is overseeing the project.
Marco Pierre White's back, and his new TV cooking show is going to be a nail-biter
"It's being made by Ridley Scott. This is true," White said.
"Michael Fassbender has first option on the script. Nicholas Drake is writing the script and Anand Tucker is directing. He did that beautiful drama on Channel 4 [Indian Summers and Red Riding: In the Year of Our Lord 1983].
"I have to spend time with the scriptwriter to begin with, so we've got until the end of the year to write it."
On Macbeth's Fassbender, he continued: "Yeah, he's alright is Michael.

Marco Pierre White's looking straight at me with piercing eyes. The reaction from my friends and family when I revealed I was going to be cooking for the volatile chef was unanimous: "He's terrifying."
Now that I'm in front of him, all I can think of are two things: 1. Don't burn the studio down, and 2. Don't slice your finger off.
In all my years I have never burnt a building down or sliced a finger off. So quite why I'm now panicking is unclear. But White, who TV viewers will remember as the demonic head honcho on ITV's Hell's Kitchen, has that effect.
The first British chef to gain three Michelin stars, the culinary success story trained under Albert and Michel Roux and later mentored Gordon Ramsay. The pair fell out when Ramsay turned up to his wedding with a camera crew in tow, and haven't spoken since.
When he finally speaks,...

Jimmy Bullard definitely doesn't want to see former campmate Gemma Collins re-entering the jungle, arguing that "she had her chance and she bottled it".
The former footballer and I'm a Celebrity star - fronting upcoming London Live sports series Jimmy Bullard Kicks Off - reacted to rumours Collins could be back on the ITV reality show by incredulously replying to Digital Spy: "No way, really? How did she get called back - she didn't last four minutes?!
"I disagree, I don't think she should be allowed back. She's had her chance and she bottled it."
Recalling the moment when the ex-towie star entered the main camp after the group was split into two, Bullard remembered: "The thing with Gemma - the camps were separated and she came into the main camp which I was in and she had a bit of a breakdown.
"So then she started crying on me of all people.

The Great British Bake Off is as synonymous with the UK as a nice cup of tea and Big Ben, but can the format be translated around the world?
The answer is... yes! Bake Off has been broadcast in 196 territories and its format has been sold to 20 nations, with varying degrees of success. So what do Mel and Sue, Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry look like in the USA, Ukraine and elsewhere?
1. Bake Off Brazil - Hands-on
Very similar to the UK version, but if you're expecting a dose of samba music you'll be disappointed, as the exact same UK soundtrack appears to have returned. Ticiana Villas Boas hosts the oddly named show, flanked by entrepreneur Fabrizio Fasano Jr (a brilliant Hollywood replacement) and baker Carolina Fiorentino (a much younger Mary Berry, don't tell her we said that).

Cookery skills will meet poker faces with Watch's new show Humble Pie.
Melanie Sykes and Marco Pierre White will present the show that sees four contestants cook up three dishes then critique each other's efforts.
A further twist sees chefs then predicting how White will have ranked their meals - and either rule themselves out and win a "cash exit fee" or risk staying in and winning even more money.
It will mean the best cook doesn't always stay in the competition as bluffers put on their best poker face in an attempt to win the money.
The series will run as eight one-hour episodes with Sykes and White fronting it.
Humble Pie will air in September.

If you haven't seen Fifty Shades of Grey yet following its release last Friday (February 13), you may want to cast your eye over Melanie Sykes's critical evaluation first.
The former I'm a Celebrity star shared her harsh yet amusing review of the Sam Taylor-Johnson-directed movie on her Tumblr page.
In it, she ridiculed female lead Anastasia Steele's (Dakota Johnson) floral, conservative look as being straight out of the pages of "a Boden catalogue", and criticised the infamous Red Room of Pain as being more akin to "a fake room in Ikea".
Sykes wrote: "Who actually wears a floral blouse and cardi apart from the women in the Boden catalogue? Not all virgins dress like off duty nuns and even then not all off duty nuns dress like that.
"Then to the red room, the house of pain, the den of iniquity ermmm that looked more like a fake room in Ikea.

The final three campmates took part in their last Bushtucker Trials in tonight's (December 7) finale of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!.
Melanie Sykes, Carl 'Foggy' Fogarty and Jake Quickenden each had to undergo a task to win five stars, which would earn them a three-course meal and added treats.
Up first was Jake, who was playing for the group's starters. He had to put his head into a helmet which was filled with 1,500 creepy crawlies for 1 minute.
After doing this, and winning one star, 1,500 crickets were added into the mix. Jake lasted another minute and won a second star.
Ten burrowing cockroaches were thrown in before the X Factor singer won another star, and then huntsman spiders and water spiders were added.
A visibly-worried Jake kept going and successfully won all five stars for camp.
Foggy then had to face his eating trial. The Superbike champion was...

Edwina Currie is the latest campmate to leave the I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! jungle.
She follows Tinchy Stryder and Kendra Wilkinson, who left yesterday (Friday, December 5).
When asked by Ant and Dec how she felt about leaving the camp, Edwina joked that she had been crossing her fingers as they made the announcement.
Edwina added that the jungle was "completely different" to what she expected, saying: "I thought it would be horrible and was prepared to grit my teeth and do it, but they were a terrific bunch of people.
"Physically, it was very hard - I had done a fair bit of camping but not like this."
Edwina had clashed with both Kendra Wilkinson and Melanie Sykes during her time in the jungle, claiming that Kendra was selfish after hearing her discuss with Michael Buerk what it was like to live life in front of cameras.

The first class degree 'fact' was the lie, meaning the other two were truths.
Jake Quickenden joked about her losing her virginity on bonfire night, laughing: "So you were literally a banger on that night!"
Edwina reminisced about that night, regaling: "I remember cycling home, feeling a little queasy and all around me I could hear bang bang and I thought, 'yeah, that's it.'"
When Jake asked Edwina...

Vicki Michelle is the fourth celebrity to have been voted out of the I'm a Celebrity jungle.
She follows Michael Buerk who left yesterday (December 3).
The fourth vote-off came down to Vicki and Kendra but the 'Allo 'Allo actress was announced as the next to leave.
Speaking to Ant & Dec, Vicki said it feels "fabulous" to be out but said she will "miss the eye candy - Foggy and Jake in their pants in the morning!"
When asked about the cooking situation and near arguments with Melanie Sykes taking charge, she added: "I found it frustrating, not having an input. I cook all the time at home. The trouble is Mel likes to do it all and that became difficult. If you voiced something different there was then a tension which there shouldn't be.

The camp-mates were confronted by a giant wall of safety deposit boxes filled with treats and dares on tonight's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me out of Here (December 4).
On one column were labels listing delicious treats including marshmallows, salt and pepper, bread and butter and chocolate biscuits.
Alongside each label were safety deposit boxes marked one to four. The campers had to pick a box, some of which contained a 'dare', and if they completed said dare, they would win the relevant treat.
Kendra Wilkinson picked a dare to down a shot of vinegar, which she did, while Melanie Sykes ate a teaspoon of Wasabi. She had difficulty digesting it at first but later admitted she relished the flavour after weeks of bland food.
Jake had to apply lipstick to one camp-mate with anything but his hands and chose Carl 'Foggy' Fogarty. Foggy meanwhile had to eat a raw onion in less than 60 seconds.

Carl Fogarty has won 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!'. The four-time World Superbike champion was named the 2014 King of the Jungle after beating Jake Quickenden in the final of the ITV reality show, with Melanie Sykes in third position. Reflecting on his victory, Carl - the 49-year-old racer, who is affectionately known a 'Foggy' - said: ''I just think it's all a dream. I think someone's playing a joke on me!'' Edwina Currie and Melanie Sykes argued over the role of men after Edwina put Carl Fogarty forward for the latest trial on tonight's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! (December 3).
The campers were told they would have to pick another celebrity in Croc Creek to take part in the Boulder Dash challenge.
Ex-mp Edwina suggested it "sounded physical", at which point Mel volunteered. Kendra Wilkinson also offered to do it, but Vicki Michelle sided with Edwina and thought Jake Quickenden or Foggy would be best.
Mel got cross as she reminded the others: "Hang on, me and Kendra said we wouldn't mind."
"Bearing in mind we want to eat tonight..." responded Edwina.
This prompted an irritated Mel to ask Edwina if she thought she wouldn't be capable of the task, adding: "You should believe in the sisterhood. You're a strong woman."

The camp's debate about the battle of the sexes continued as Melanie Sykes and Kendra Wilkinson discussed Edwina Currie on tonight's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! (December 3).
Mel, after previously declaring that men aren't needed for anything "apart from sex", asked Jake Quickenden to sharpen the camp knives or at least show her how to do it.
Jake quipped: "I'll do it, it's a man's job."
Mel also joked: "Oh sorry, I forgot, 'Know your place Sykesie, know your place!'"
Edwina Currie was still digesting Mel's comment earlier as she pondered in Croc Creek: "It could be a generational thing. It's just the idea, I find it so bizarre.
"These beautiful women in their 40s are saying, 'I don't need a man'."
Mel and Kendra were also busy discussing Edwina and Mel's previous conversation about men, with Kendra concluding that it was similar to the argument...

I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!'s Carl 'Foggy' Fogarty has triumphed in the Boulder Dash Bushtucker Trial.
The campmates were asked to select a participant for the latest Bushtucker Trial, with Foggy, Kendra Wilkinson and Melanie Sykes all volunteering.
A heated discussion commenced when Edwina Currie suggested that Foggy was better suited for a physical task than either of the women.
"Are you saying we wouldn't be able to do it?" Melanie asked Edwina. "You should believe in the sisterhood. You're a strong woman."
Edwina replied: "I don't believe in that, I believe in us all together… Well I would vote for Foggy because he wants it and he'll be good at it."
Agreement was eventually reached that Foggy would take on Boulder Dash, but Melanie later shared her annoyance with the Bush Telegraph.
"God what is that about," she complained. "I'm really shocked in Edwina for that.

Tinchy Stryder, Melanie Sykes, Carl 'Foggy' Fogarty and Jimmy Bullard are the first celebrities up for elimination on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, after losing the tribal Terror Tomb challenge.
In the trial, the Galah and Wombat tribes were faced with identical tombs in two different locations. Each of the celebrities had to spend 15 minutes inside coffins within the tomb, with the aim of sticking it out longer than a member of the opposite team.
After the 15 minutes were up, a key dropped into each of the coffins, and the celebs would race to find a hidden lock which would then turn on a light and they would be released.
Michael Buerk, Vicki Michelle, Kendra Wilkinson, Nadia Forde, Edwina Currie and Jake Quickenden won the majority of three rounds and were awarded immunity.
So Foggy, Jimmy, Melanie and Tinchy face elimination, but who do you want to see leave the show?...

I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! saw Carl 'Foggy' Fogarty and Jake Quickenden go head-to-head in tonight's Bushtucker Trial.
The show featured presenters Ant and Dec announcing to the Wombat and Galah teams that there had been no public vote for the trial and that each team had 15 seconds to decide who they wanted to represent them in the Down the Chain trial. At stake was a proper dinner for the winning team.
The Wombats all agreed that Foggy should represent them, with Melanie Sykes saying: "Foggy is gutted about the challenge yesterday. He's frustrated. He's gone over and over it overnight. He's going to want to have a good positive experience and eradicate thoughts of that."
The Galahs were more divided on their choice, as Jake volunteered for the trial but Michael Buerk suggested that it should be done by somebody who had not yet done a trial.

"I'm coming off a really bad stretch," she said. "I've gone one star, two stars, one star. I'm hoping for three today. It's pretty sad, but that's huge in my eyes."
Vicki Michelle noted that Kendra was "gutted", while Edwina Currie sighed: "I have to confess, I did feel sorry for her and looking around I did feel sorry for the rest of us because we may not eat tonight."
And things looked bad when Kendra tripped on the bridge on her way to the trial, saying: "I don't think the camp has much...

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! has a brand new gender war as the celebrities have been split into two tribes for a new challenge.
The campmates discovered that all of the women would join the Galah Tribe, while the men would form the Wombat Tribe.
For the next few days, the two tribes will compete against each other for treats, and the winning team will also be able to poach a member from the other side. The tribe with the most members at the end of the task will have immunity from the first public vote.
The first challenge saw the two tribes battling it out for a treat of chocolate brownies and ice cream, and everyone was feeling competitive, as Melanie Sykes said: "It feels like it's game on now because people are going to start leaving."
The Galahs chose Mel and Kendra Wilkinson to take on the first challenge,...

Jake Quickenden got upset in camp after Melanie Sykes admitted his singing got on her nerves on tonight's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here.
The former X Factor finalist was performing a Michael Jackson medley with Jimmy Bullard, when Mel admitted: "You've got such a nice voice but sometimes it just gets on my nerves. Soz. I'm not being spiteful."
She then realised she had hurt Jake's feelings as she continued: "They were right in my earful and I said to Foggy that I could do without the singing and Jake took offence."
Jake retreated to a quiet part of the camp for a bit of solitude, before Jimmy and Foggy tracked him down to find out what was troubling him.
He reluctantly revealed: "It's no biggie... I don't want to bitch about her but if I am annoying someone then say it to my face."

Non-stop flatulence, a dead possum, and being too darn sexy. Are these the most ridiculous I'm a Celebrity fights in the history of the jungle?
After Croc campmates Melanie Sykes and Vicki Michelle bickered over a pencil in last night's show (November 26), we reminisce over some of the silliest spats over the years.
From Brian Harvey's continual wind to Darren Day being too darn sexy - here are 10 absurd jungle rumbles:
1. Darren Day's too sexy for the jungle?
Sizzling sexual chemistry or far too much flatulence? It was almost impossible to keep up with Darren Day and Tara Palmer-Tomkinson's love/hate relationship in the 2002 series.
Palmer-Tomkinson shocked the entire nation as she revealed the root of their tension was all down to Day's unbridled sexiness, shouting: "I'll tell you why I am very uptight. It's because I think you are so f**king sexy."

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! was forced to cut a challenge short in tonight's episode after a huge storm erupted over camp.
The extreme weather called an end to the Shed of Dread task, which saw Jimmy Bullard and Carl Fogarty being taken in a helicopter to a dark shed full of jungle critters.
The duo were informed that they would have to stay in the shed for 12 hours, but their fellow celebrities were able to cut that time down by sacrificing items that were important to them.
Jake Quickenden gave up his fan, Melanie Sykes handed over her tweezer, Michael Buerk reluctantly sacrificed his chair and Edwina Currie and Vicki Michelle agreed to do without makeup.
That reduced Bullard and Fogarty's time in the shed from 12 to six hours, but the celebrities were then told they could reduce the time to just three hours if they sacrificed postcards from home.

Michael Buerk opened up about his late bigamist father on tonight's I'm a Celebrity.
Speaking about his biggest regret in life, he told fellow camp-mates: "I've only got one regret in my life and it was losing my mother before I was old enough to have a grown-up conversation with her.
"My father was a bigamist and I didn't really know very much about him and if she had lived just a few more years I would have learned a great deal more."
The broadcaster also informed Melanie Sykes that he was just 16 when his dad died, and wasn't at a mature enough stage to talk properly about him with her.
He explained: "It was a complicated situation really, he was a Canadian army officer during the Second World War and he met my mother towards the end of the war and they obviously had a big thing and he...

Melanie Sykes and Vicki Michelle were reduced to bickering over a pencil on I'm a Celebrity tonight (November 26).
The camp were informed of Carl Fogarty and Jimmy Bullard's Shed of Dread challenge and that they could reduce their time from six hours to twelve in the dark hovel by sacrificing their luxury items.
Jake Quickenden was quick to offer up his fan, Mel was happy to sacrifice her tweezers, while Michael - although initially reluctant - said he'd give up his chair if it meant helping Jimmy and Foggy.
Edwina announced: "We can manage without lipstick for a bit."
Vicki added: "And my pencil."
Mel immediately turned and asked Vicki: "You have a pencil?" to which Vicki replied curtly: "Shut up."
As the atmosphere became tense, Jake explained that it was an eyeliner, after which Mel finally calmed down and said: "I didn't know what you meant by pencil.

The dust has yet to settle after Kendra Wilkinson and Edwina Currie's explosive fight in the jungle earlier this week.
Michael Buerk, who had been chatting to Wilkinson before the argument with the ex-mp began, wondered whether the former's "ballistic" reaction was "because Edwina is not particularly tactful or because Kendra is good at reality TV".
Speaking to actress Vicki Michelle about the row, Edwina said: "It was unbelievable, she has a mouth on her like a sewer!"
The pair fell out after Edwina took offence to Kendra's statement: "You should never live your life for other people, ever."
The Us reality TV star had been talking about sharing her life on camera, when Edwina interrupted: "Did I hear you say, 'You should never live your life for other people, ever?' Count me out. I don't agree with you."
