It’s not hard to underestimate how much of an impact the original I Spit on Your Grave film had on the genre – mainly thanks to the controversial way the film was marketed back in the late 70s/early 80s and its subsequent banning across several territories. Yet despite all the furore around the film, it never spawned a sequel – after all that was not de rigueur back then, especially with indie productions – but it did inspire the film Savage Vengeance, from cult director Donald Farmer: an unofficial sequel that starred actress Camille Keaton, under a pseudonym, playing yet another “Jennifer” without ever explicitly stating is was a follow-up to Zarchi’s original.

Fun with Frankie!

Jennifer Hills is back! Forty years after 1978’s I Spit On Your Grave shocked the world with its story of a beautiful career woman assaulted and left for dead, and her notorious revenge on those responsible, cinema’s most lethal lady vengeance returns in the most anticipated sequel of all time. Reuniting star Camille Keaton and original director Meir Zarchi, I Spit On Your Grave: Deja Vu sends now successful writer Jennifer Hills hurtling back to where it all began – to face the wrath of the families of those she murdered. Kidnapped along with her daughter Christy ( Jamie Bernadette), it’s a tense game of hunt – or be hunted – against a ruthless gang of degenerates overseen by a violently unhinged matriarch Becky, (Maria Olsen).
Meir Zarchi delivers the next explosive saga in the most controversial tale of an eye-for-an-eye ever committed to celluloid. Some grudges refuse to be buried… I Spit On Your Grave: Deja Vu...

*full disclosure: a DVD screener of his film was provided by Rlj Entertainment. Director: Brian C. Weed. Writer: Jake Helgren. Cast: Jim Tavaré, Rae Latt, Lexi Giovagnoli and Alex Dobrenko. Brian C. Weed's first film as director is a lackluster effort titled Bloody Homecoming. Jake Helgren's script follows plotlines from the '80s, with Bloody Homecoming providing a conventional slasher film. But, this is no Prom Night (2008) or My Bloody Valentine (2009). Instead, this indie outing is a weak venture, with some really awkward scenes. The actors in this film are amateurs. As well, this revenge tale rarely shines. More blood reds were needed. The film is a straightforward revenge thriller. But, fans might be wondering about the killer's motivations. Though, few horror fans would be able to make it to the end of this film. Through the film's long ninety minutes, several high schoolers deal with disappearing friends,...

Latino Review is reporting that Alia Shawkat – better known as the acerbic teenager, Maeby, on the godlike and gone-too-soon sitcom, Arrested Development – has joined the cast of the Kristen Stewart-starring Joan Jett biopic, The Runaways.According to them, Shawkat will play Robin, a fictional character who may or may not be an amalgam of several of the teen girl group’s bass players (they went through them like Spinal Tap goes through drummers), including Micki Steele, Peggy Foster, Jackie Fox, Flea, Mike Mills and Jim Tavare. If the rumour is true, then it represents a decided upturn in fortunes for Shawkat, who’s been possibly the only Arrested Development alum to have fared less than well since the show ended in 2006.While the likes of Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Michael Cera have been carving out movie careers, she’s cropped up in the likes of Prom Wars and Bart Got A Room.
