Exclusive: 7Equis, the creative team behind the comedy podcast Bad Friends with Bobby Lee and Andrew Santino, is launching its newest comedy series Almost Alpha with rising comics and long-time friends Taylor Williamson and Joey Bragg.
Almost Alpha is a comedy podcast hosted by two best buddies—and a 4.6-pound chihuahua named Betty, who keeps the guys grounded with her female pawspective as they discuss the most beta things in a totally alpha way.

Netflix has ordered the limited series “Untamed” with Erica Bana attached to star, Variety has learned exclusively.
The six-episode series hails from writers Mark L. Smith and his daughter, Elle Smith. The series is described as a character driven mystery thriller in which Bana plays Eric Inman, “a special agent for the National Parks Service who works to enforce human law in nature’s vast wilderness. The investigation of a brutal death sends Inman on a collision course with the dark secrets within the park, and in his own past.”

Exclusive: Sons of Anarchy and Mayans M.C. star David Labrava has signed with The Green Room for representation.
Labrava is best known for his portrayal of Happy Lowman- the Assassin in the biker drama from Kurt Sutter, FX’s Sons of Anarchy, since the show’s inception in 2008 to its conclusion in 2014 for a total of seven seasons. He began his journey on the series as a technical advisor then going up to date player to finally a series regular who also co-wrote the Season 4 episode “Hands.” Additionally, he contributed to the success of the show by writing “Fat Bob’s Blog” on the FX website for seven years.
The Miami native reprised the popular character Happy in the show’s spinoff series Mayans M.C., co-created by Sutter and Elgin James, for three seasons. He was one of the last surviving members of the original M.C. until his demise in the final season.

“Twisters,” a sequel to the 1996 blockbuster “Twister,” is in development at Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment and is gathering strength after the studio has attached “The Revenant” screenwriter Mark L. Smith to write the script, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

Woke is Inspired by the life and art of cartoonist Keith Knight. Written by Knight and Marshall Todd (Barbershop), Woke centers on Keef (Morris), a cartoonist living in San Francisco on the cusp of mainstream success when an unexpected incident involving cops changes everything, putting him in a state of “woke.”
Todd and Knight executive produce with Olive Bridge Entertainment’s Will Gluck and Richie Schwartz, Cloud Nine’s Olsen and Kate Schumaecker as well as John Will. Mo Marable (Insecure) is set to direct the pilot.
Woke precedes the first-look deal NCIS: Los Angeles co-star Olsen and his Cloud Nine Prods.

Hulu has ordered a pilot for a comedy series called “Woke” with Lamorne Morris set to star, Variety has learned.
“Woke” is a half-hour comedy with a mix of live-action and animation. It is inspired by the life and art of cartoonist Keith Knight. The series follows Keef (Morris), an African-American cartoonist living in San Francisco, who’s finally on the cusp of mainstream success when an unexpected incident changes everything.
Knight co-wrote the project with “Barbershop” scribe Marhsall Todd, with both set to serve as executive producers. Will Gluck and Richie Schwartz will executive produce via Olive Bridge Entertainment along with Eric Christian Olsen and Katie Schumaecker for Cloud Nine Productions. Mo Marable will direct the pilot. Sony Pictures Television will produce.
Morris is best known for playing the cat-loving and bird shirt-wearing Winston Bishop on the popular Fox comedy “New Girl” throughout its seven-season run at the network.

Exclusive: After closing out the final season of FX’s acclaimed Sons of Anarchy, Theo Rossi is diving into his next film. He’s joined the cast of psychological thriller When The Bough Breaks opposite Morris Chestnut, Regina Hall, and Jaz Sinclair, which 24‘s Jon Cassar is helming for Screen Gems.
Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne are producing the film about a professional couple unable to conceive their own child who hire a blue collar woman to act as their surrogate (Sinclair). Unfortunately for the hopeful parents, she develops a violent fixation on the husband before the baby is even born.
Rossi, who made his mark as Samcro’s Juan Carlos ‘Juice’ Ortiz through all seven seasons of Sons of Anarchy, will play Mike Mitchell, the surrogate’s fiancé.
