Anita Thompson was born on March 28, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She was an actress, known for A Man's Duty (1919) and By Right of Birth (1921). She was married to Guy Reynolds, Dwight Lloyd Dickinson and Charles Henri Ford. She died in December 1980 in Christiansted, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.
Trained as a dancer under Ruth St. Denis; worked as a dancer, model and actress; in 2014, her posthumous memoir, 'American Cocktail: A "Colored Girl" in the World,' with Howard M. Miller, was published.
Even though most of her career was either on the stage or in front of the camera, from 1926 to 1928, she worked in Baltimore city schools as an art teacher.
