Francesca Tolot
- Make-Up Department
There's a reason that Francesca Tolot is one of the most renowned makeup artists in the industry. It is her exquisite color sensibility and fine arts background that bring a refined quality to her craft, translating to unforgettable moments on film, video and in print. Francesca's work has attracted top-tier clients and longstanding relationships most artists only dream about.
When arriving to Los Angeles from Italy Francesca was already a well-recognized makeup artist. She landed a video shoot with Madonna as her very first assignment in America. This kick-started a long collaboration with the singer which yielded many of Madonna's most unforgettable looks.
Francesca further made her mark in the music arena creating indelible looks with Faith Hill, Shakira, Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys and Gwen Stefani. For over a decade Francesca has partnered with the cultural phenomenon that is Beyoncé. Together they have conquered many of the world's most renowned platforms, from Super Bowl performances to Vogue covers and major motion pictures. Incredibly, Francesca has been responsible for the makeup looks in 40 of Beyoncé's acclaimed videos.
In today's environment, so-called celebrity makeup artists are a dime a dozen. But it's a precious few that have had the opportunity to impress Hollywood's past, present, and future by illuminating the faces of legends such as Elizabeth Taylor, A-list stars like Marion Cotillard, Nicole Kidman and Julia Roberts as well as emerging starlets like Chloe Moretz.
Francesca's collaborations with directors include video and feature film work with Curtis Hanson, Melina Matsoukas, Francis Lawrence, Floria Sigismondi, David Fincher and Sophie Mueller.
Francesca has received numerous awards including the prestigious Lucie Award for "Makeup Artist of the Year". Francesca's much anticipated book, One Woman 100 Faces, was released September 2014. It exhibits a compilation of groundbreaking works from a span of twenty years.
