[This story contains spoilers for Andor’s first three episodes, as well as mild references to episode four.]
Throughout the Star Wars franchise, the Imperial characters have mostly been black and white, but with Andor exploring two lesser-known branches of the Empire, Denise Gough and Kyle Soller believe that their characters will add a little more gray to the mix.
Gough’s character, Dedra Meero, who will be introduced in episode four, is a supervisor for the Imperial Security Bureau, and a small detail of the Cassian Andor case falls within her purview, leading her to spearhead an investigation. However, as one of only two women on the Isb’s leadership council, she faces some roadblocks along the way. But for Gough, it’s more than just a matter of gender.
“She sees these other lazy guys getting to have power that they don’t deserve to have. I don’t think she thinks of herself as being a woman in a man’s world.

‘Gentleman Jack’: HBO & BBC Renew Sally Wainwright’s Suranne Jones-Fronted Period Drama For Season 2
HBO and BBC period drama Gentleman Jack has been handed a second season. Sally Wainwright’s Suranne Jones-fronted series will return for another eight-part run.
It comes as the Lookout Point-produce drama is still on the air. The series debuted on HBO on April 22 in its new Monday night slot and on the BBC on May 19. It became the BBC’s biggest new drama launch of the year with an average overnight audience of 5.1 million viewers.
Written by Happy Valley creator Wainwright, it tells the story of Anne Lister, played by Jones, who had a passion for life and a mind for business, and bucked society’s expectations at every turn.
Gentleman Jack focuses on Regency landowner Lister in the period drama, which is set in 1832 Halifax, West Yorkshire. She is determined to transform the fate of her faded ancestral home, Shibden Hall, by reopening the coal mines and marrying well.

Hugh Grant’s Charles and Andi MacDowell’s Carrie are back in the first clip for the charity spinoff of classic Brit flick Four Weddings And A Funeral.
The BBC and NBC have unveiled a trailer for the return of Richard Curtis’ film, which features much of the original cast, who reunited to make short film One Red Nose Day And A Wedding.
There’s speculation that it’s set at Charles’ daughter’s wedding and the clip certainly suggests nuptials.
Richard Curtis, who wrote the original film and is the co-founder of charity telethon Red Nose Day, has written the short for the 2019 edition of the charity fundraiser. Cast will include Grant, MacDowell, Kristin Scott Thomas, John Hannah, Rowan Atkinson, James Fleet, David Haig, Sophie Thompson, David Bower, Robin McCaffrey, Anna Chancellor, Rupert Vansittart, Simon Kunz, Sara Crowe and Timothy Walker. The 15th Annual Gold Derby TV Award winners were announced on Thursday, September 6, during a live webcast announcement (watch it above). These prizes were decided by hundreds of Gold Derby users who arguably know more about the television landscape than a lot of TV academy members. And they spread the wealth when picking this year’s recipients. “The Assassination of Gianni Versace” was the biggest winner with four awards, followed by “The Handmaid’s Tale” with three, but the top series prizes actually went to “Game of Thrones” and “Atlanta.”
“Versace” swept the longform categories, claiming Best Limited Series, Best Movie/Mini Actor (Darren Criss), Best Movie/Mini Supporting Actress (Judith Light) and Best Movie/Mini Supporting Actor (Cody Fern). The last two prizes in that field went to “USS Callister (Black Mirror)” (Best TV Movie) and “The Tale” (Best Movie/Mini Actress for Laura Dern).

Mark your calendars: the winners of the 15th Annual Gold Derby TV Awards will be announced on Thursday, September 6, at 9:00am Pacific/12:00pm Eastern. There’s still time to vote for your favorite TV shows, episodes and performances, or to edit your ballot if you’ve changed your mind in some categories. But act fast: voting closes on Friday night at 11:00pm Pacific/2:00am Eastern. As I’m writing this, the closest races are coming down to just a handful of votes, so every vote counts.
Of course, I’m not going to tell you which races are close and who between. You’ll have to wait until next Thursday to find that out.
To refresh your memory about this year’s contenders, “This is Us” is the most nominated program of the year with nine bids including Best Drama Series. “The Assassination of Gianni Versace...

When it comes to the SAG Awards, size often matters. The most massive casts often run off with the ensemble prizes, which explains how “Lost” found victory at the 2005 ceremony, and how “Downton Abbey” (2012) was able to take down two-time champ “Boardwalk Empire” (2010-2011). This year, however, Gold Derby’s SAG TV predictions favor Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale” to prevail despite having the second-smallest cast. Are we crazy for going against bigger ensembles?
“The Handmaid’s Tale” boasts 10 cast members on the voting ballot, ahead of only Netflix’s “The Crown” at five. Comparatively, the other nominated dramas each feature more than a dozen actors: HBO’s “Game of Thrones” at 30, Netflix’s “Stranger Things” at 17 and NBC’s “This Is Us” at 13. In recent years “Game of Thrones” and “Downton Abbey” always had the biggest casts, with “Downton” beating the HBO fantasy series in 2014 and 2015.

This is news we were all expecting, but welcome nonetheless. After a season's absence, Isaac Hempstead-Wright, aka Bran Stark, will be returning in Game Of Thrones season 6. Presumably, that means catching up with Hodor and Meera, too.
The last we saw the second-to-youngest Stark boy, he had finally completed his quest to meet the Three-Eyed Raven and was about to begin another, a training journey with the Children of the Forest which would teach him more about his Warg powers.
Here's what Hempstead-Wright told The Irish Examiner about Bran's return to the show:
“I can’t say a lot but I am back this season, and it’s going to get particularly interesting with Bran. He has some interesting visions."

Writer and creator Anthony Horowitz said: "It feels a terrible wrench to say goodbye to characters I've lived with for more than 15 years. "Game of Thrones" is known for killing off major characters, often times without warning. A new piece of key art from the upcoming season 4 promises that the trend will continue. With more and more characters joining the ever-widening "Song of Ice and Fire" fray, it's a good bet that some of them won't last for long, while some more familiar faces will also be in jeopardy. Feast your eyes on this dire warning: There's that pesky three-eyed crow again, which is never really a good sign. And don't think that the "Men" in the image means that the show's female characters are in the clear, because fans know that's certainly not the case. Season 4 features returning stars Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington, Lena Headey, Sophie Turner, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Jack Gleeson. Newcomers include Pedro Pascal, Roger Ashton-Griffiths, Mark Gatiss, Paola Dionisotti, Rupert Vansittart, and approximately 10,000 others. "Game of Thrones" returns on April 6 at 9 p.

Foyle’s War Set 7 is a treat for fans of the long-running series, but a possible sour note as well, as our titular investigator actually moves outside the titular conflict. We not only move outside the setting of the show, but into a new world of Foyle’s efforts, and apparently a new theory of the character as well. Call it progress, I suppose, but some fans may find themselves in for a surprise when taking on this new Foyle.
What started out as a very interesting look at an investigator of unusual calm working in a backdrop of World War II outside the normal focus of the war, has now gone post-War, and sees our hero pressed into service with MI5. From not exactly police to not exactly spy, Foyle finds himself involved in ever more curious exploits which leaves us with little remaining familiar except the star and the title.

Foyle’s War was considered one of the best British mysteries on television, but was cancelled in 2007. There is an ad for the movie Austenland that has been running in newspapers. The critic’s blurb urges readers to “Grab Your Girlfriends and Go!”
Don’t do this. She’s a reviewer for She Knows. She knows not. Neither does the marketing executive who thought this would be a persuasive pitch.

The trailer for Sony Pictures Classics' Austenland is now online and you can check it out in the player below, courtesy of Yahoo! Movies . Written by Jershua Hess and Shannon Hale and directed by Hess, Austenland stars Keri Russell, J.J. Feild, Bret McKenzie, James Callis, Jennifer Coolidge, Jane Seymour and Rupert Vansittart and is based on Hale's original novel about Jane Hayes, a seemingly normal young New Yorker with a secret. Her obsession with Mr. Darcy, as played by Colin Firth in the BBC adaptation of "Pride & Prejudice," is ruining her love life: no real man can compare. But when a wealthy relative bequeaths her a trip to an English resort catering to Austen-crazed women, Jane's fantasies of meeting the perfect Regency-era gentleman suddenly become realer...

Rom-com time! Sorry, but we have to write about this one. Not just because we have Jerusha Hess on board to direct the whole thing, but because we have an interesting cast list involved in the whole thing.
Austenland is the upcoming romantic comedy about a woman who “spends her life savings on a trip to an English resort catering to Jane Austen-crazed women.” See? It sounds crazy enough for us, and I’m sure you’re going to love it as well!
Especially when you hear that Keri Russell, J.J. Field, Bret McKenzie, Jennifer Coolidge, Rupert Vansittart, James Callis and Jane Seymour are all set to star in it!
Austenland is based on the book by Shannon Hale, and Hale also co-wrote the script with Hess. On the other hand, we also learned that Stephenie Meyer, author of the best-selling vampire books The Twilight Saga will serve as producer,...

Stephenie Meyer is known around the world as the person that brought Edward, Bella, Jacob, and the rest of the Twilight gang to life (or undeath), but as the saga begins to wind down with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 arriving in theaters in November, THR brings word that Meyer is venturing out from the little world she created in Forks.

J.J. Felid, Keri Russell, and Bret McKenzie have all joined on to star in the indie romantic drama Austenland, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film is based on the novel by Shannon Hale and will, oddly enough, be produced by fellow author Stephenie Meyer (author of The Twilight Saga).
Russell will play the part of Jane and Felid will play a Darcy impersonator who works at the resort.
The film is about a girl, Jane Hayes, who is seemingly normal, but she is obsessed with Mr. Darcy, as played by Colin Firth in the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. Her love is so great that she can't seem to find anyone who can compare and it is interfering with her own love life.
She is then given a trip to an English resort that caters to Austen-crazed women. Will Jane find her own Mr. Darcy while on vacation in England?...

With the final two "Twilight Saga" films on the horizon, author Stephenie Meyer is ready to sink her teeth into some non-vampire projects. Meyer will produce the Jane Austen-inspired "Austenland," an adaptation of the Shannon Hale novel that will be directed by newcomer Jerusha Hess.
Heat Vision has the news of Meyer's involvement, reporting that filming begins this week in the U.K. The movie is about a woman whose obsession with Mr. Darcy is so strong it is ruining her love life, so she ends up going to an Austen-themed resort in England and inevitably falls for the Mr. Darcy actor at Austenland. The cast so far includes Keri Russell, J.J. Field, Bret McKenzie, Jennifer Coolidge, Jane Seymour, Rupert Vansittart and James Callis.

Stephenie Meyer (of Twilight uber fame) will be taking on a producing role in Austenland, an upcoming rom-com about a young woman totally obsessed with Colin Firth’s character, Mr. Darcy, in the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice. She’ll be joined by Jerusha Hess, co-writer of Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre.
Full disclosure: I’m a self- proclaimed addict of period films of this genre (don’t judge), but I’m also highly critical of films that seek to latch themselves onto Jane Austen lit in the hopes of making a flop popular by association. So I’m already inclined to be prejudiced… ahem… against this film, but look at the cast:
Austenland stars Keri Russell, Jj Field, Bret McKenzie, Jennifer Coolidge, Jane Seymour, Rupert Vansittart, and James Callis.
Bret McKenzie and Jennifer Coolidge! I just can’t go in negatively. I can just hope it turns...

Oy, this is a combination made in hell.
THR says that Jerusha Hess, the co-writer behind the hideous Napoleon Dynamite and the apparently painfully Gentlemen Broncos, has completed a new script titled Austenland, which she will make her directing debut with. This is based on a novel by Shannon Hale, who also co-wrote the film. News such as this is bad enough for me, but we’ll be seeing it thanks to the author of the Twilight series, Stephenie Meyer. That’s something to shudder about.
The movie follows a young woman who’s obsessed with Mr. Darcy, the male lead in Jane Austen‘s classic novel, Pride and Prejudice, which leads to her love life being ruined. She decides to spend her life’s savings on a trip to England, where she stays at a resort designed for fans of Austen (hence the title). Eventually, “the woman’s fantasy...

Two successful female writers will take on new roles as they collaborate on an indie romantic comedy. The film is called Austenland and it'll be directed by Jerusha Hess, who co-wrote Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre and Gentlemen Broncos with her husband Jared Hess, and produced by Stephenie Meyer, writer of the Twilight novels. Though Meyer is credited as a producer on those ultra-successful movies, this will be her first producing gig on something she didn't conceive. Austenland focuses on a young woman obsessed with Colin Firth's character, Mr. Darcy, in the BBC production of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Starring Keri Russell, Jj Field, Bret McKenzie, Jennifer Coolidge, Jane Seymour, Rupert Vansittart and James Callis, it humorously explores how that idealism completely ruins her love life. Shooting begins this week. Read more after the jump. The Hollywood Reporter [1] broke the news of this film and described it in a...

Though you've probably seen her name on the big screen for writing films like Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre, writer Jerusha Hess is now set to follow in her husband Jared Hess' footsteps (he directed the aforementioned comedies) with her directorial debut in the form of an adaptation of Shannon Hale's novel Austenland. In addition, Heat Vision reports the film will also mark the producing debut of The Twilight Saga author Stephanie Meyer. Making the talent pool behind this film all the more interesting, Keri Russell (Waitress) and Bret Mackenzie ("Flight of the Conchords") are set to star in the film, too. J.J. Field, who plays Union Jack in Captain America: The First Avenger, Jennifer Coolidge, Jane Seymour, Rupert Vansittart and James Callis round out the cast of the film which follows a single thirty-something woman with a secret obsession with Mr. Darcy (the character from Pride and Prejudice...
