Tickets are now on sale for George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road prequel, and Warner Bros. has debuted one more teaser to ensure that engines are well and truly revved and ready for May 24. We also have a new featurette with stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth discussing the movie, and a couple of new posters.

“Furiosa,” George Miller’s prequel to his Oscar-winning “Mad Max: Fury Road,” will have its world premiere at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
Anya Taylor-Joy stars as the titular warrior in the epic saga that spans 15 years and charts the title character’s origin story. A young Furiosa is kidnapped from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus, played by Chris Hemsworth. As they trek across the Wasteland, the gang come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war over dominance, Furiosa faces many trials to find her way home. Oh yeah, and she’s definitely out to kill those who murdered her family.

Turns out, Anya Taylor-Joy has a shaved head in “Mad Max: Fury Road” prequel “Furiosa.”
The “Queen’s Gambit” star recently told Empire magazine that director George Miller told her to not shave her head for the role; however, in the new trailer, a buzzed cut is boasted by the star, mirroring Charlize Theron’s look as Furiosa for “Fury Road.” Taylor-Joy is almost certainly sporting a wig in the film; we sure haven’t seen her growing back long locks in the time since.
“I feel very lucky that, from the second I read the script, I just knew this person. I felt so fiercely protective over Furiosa, and fiercely protective of her interests,” Taylor-Joy said of taking over the character from Theron. She also told IndieWire that “Furiosa” was the “dirtiest and the bloodiest” she’s ever been onscreen.

The first official trailer for Warner Bros. Pictures’ Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga confirms two important details. One, Anya Taylor-Joy looks totally badass as the titular character. And two, the long wait between Mad Max films has been worth it.
The two-and-a-half minute trailer’s loaded with gritty action, and Oscar-winning filmmaker George Miller’s epic action thriller captures its predecessor’s vibe.
In addition to Emmy nominee Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen’s Gambit), the Fury Road prequel stars Chris Hemsworth, Alyla Browne, and Tom Burke. Miller co-wrote the screenplay with Mad Max: Fury Road‘s Nico Lathouris.
Miller reunites with production designer Colin Gibson, editor Margaret Sixel, sound mixer Ben Osmo, costume designer Jenny Beavan, and makeup designer Lesley Vanderwalt for Furiosa. His behind-the-scenes team also includes first assistant director Pj Voeten, second unit director, stunt coordinator Guy Norris, director of photography Simon Duggan, composer Tom Holkenborg, sound designer Robert Mackenzie,...

In 2015, George Miller punched all of our faces in with the jaw-dropping action spectacle "Mad Max: Fury Road." Essentially a feature-length chase scene, "Fury Road" took the "Mad Max" franchise — and action movies in general — to new heights. And while Tom Hardy's take on the Road Warrior was memorable, the film ultimately didn't belong to him. Instead, it was Imperator Furiosa, as played by Charlize Theron, who really stole the show. During the long production of "Fury Road," Miller and company came up with enough backstory for Furiosa to fill an entirely different movie. And now that movie is a reality. "Furiosa" will serve as a prequel to "Fury Road," taking us along for another high-octane journey of blood and chrome. And you can now watch the highly anticipated first trailer for the film above, and don't forget to check out the beautiful motion poster.

Idris Elba wasn’t longing for any Dijinn prep work ahead of “Three Thousand Years of Longing.”
George Miller’s first film since 2015’s “Mad Max: Fury Road” is based on the 1994 short story “The Djinn in the Nightingale’s Eye” by A.S. Byatt. Elba portrays a Dijinn who offers a scholar (Tilda Swinton) three wishes in exchange for his freedom. Their conversation, unfolding in a hotel room in Istanbul, leads to decades-spanning, globe-trotting consequences neither expected. The film premiered at Cannes and opens in theaters August 26.
Director Miller penned the script along with daughter Augusta Gore, and that proved to be enough source material for Elba without needing the full history of the tale.
“I actually didn’t read the novella — I didn’t want to be tainted or influenced by it,” Elba explained to Entertainment Weekly. “Any literature about djinn was off the table for me. I didn...

Dreaming of genie takes on a whole new meaning in George Miller’s twisted sprawling fantasy “Three Thousand Years of Longing.”

Turns out, “Mad Max: Fury Road” is paved with tension.
George Miller‘s 2015 prequel film was years in the making before landing co-leads Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron to portray young Mad Max and Furiosa, respectively. Yet once production started, the real issues seemed to begin.
“It seemed to implode in preproduction. We weren’t even shooting and there seemed to be this animosity,” first assistant director P.J. Open Road Entertainment editor J. Houston Yang noted, “It was clear that those two people hated each other. They didn’t want to touch each other, they didn’t want to look at each other, they wouldn’t face each other if the camera wasn’t actively rolling.”

Exclusive: More than two years after it was announced and after a couple of delays, George Miller’s anticipated fantasy-romance-drama Three Thousand Years Of Longing is now underway in Australia, we can reveal.

Tilda Swinton and Idris Elba are starring in Miller’s latest, whose plot details are being kept under wraps. The visionary filmmaker previously described the project to us as an “anti-Mad Max” with plenty of interiors and dialogue but also punctuated with action scenes.

The Directors Guild of America has announced the nominees for the 68th annual DGA Awards! Missing were Todd Haynes ("Carol") and Steven Spielberg for "Bridge of Spies." But I'm very happy that George Miller for "Mad Max: Fury Road" got in. While we're in the subject of sequel, apparently, the DGA felt that J.J. Abrams is not worthy...yet...for a nod!
But this year's awards offer a bunch of newbies like Tom McCarthy ("Spotlight"), Adam McKay ("The Big Short"), and Miller. Meanwhile, Ridley Scott has been nominated three times before but never won for "Thelma and Louise" in 1991, "Gladiator" in 2000, and "Black Hawk Down" in 2001. Let's see if "The Martian" will do the trick and get Ridley his DGA! By the way, he hasn't won an Oscar either and he was nominated for those movies too!
Winners will be announced on Feb. 6th. Here's your complete list of nominees...

Fresh off its impressive haul at the Golden Globes the weekend, "The Revenant" is poised to nab yet another statuette with a nomination for a Directors Guild of America Award.
The DGA announced its annual slate of honorees for outstanding directorial achievement on Tuesday, and "Revenant" director Alejandro G. Inarritu was among the five nominees. Inarritu also won the DGA award last year, for 2014's "Birdman," and with the new momentum from "The Revenant"'s Globes wins, the director looks like an early favorite to repeat.
The rest of the nominees were rounded out by Tom McCarthy ("Spotlight"), Adam McKay ("The Big Short"), George Miller ("Mad Max: Fury Road"), and Ridley Scott ("The Martian"). In addition to those names, the DGA also included a new category this year, honoring directors who helmed their first feature films in 2015.

George Miller’s action-epic scoops eight awards including best film and best director.Scroll down for the full list
Mad Max: Fury Road has scooped the pool at Australia’s top film awards, the AACTAs, with George Miller’s high-action epic scoring wins in eight of its 11 nominated categories, including best film and best director.
Jocelyn Moorhouse’s retro western The Dressmaker won the Aacta People’s Choice Award at the Sydney event, and Kate Winslet won the Best Actress award for her lead performance (and convincing accent) as a spiteful Aussie seamstress in outback 1950s Australia. Winslet accepted her award via smartphone video selfie.
Her onscreen mum, Judy Davis, was the odds-on favourite to win Best Supporting Actress, which she did. In another acting gong for The Dressmaker, Hugo Weaving seemed as surprised as everyone else when his name was called to the stage of Sydney’s The Star casino complex.

And that’s that. No tie for best film like last year, make that January. The Dressmaker takes the audience choice gong but Mad Max: Fury Road wins the all important academy vote. Sounds about right – at least Guardian chief film critic Peter Bradshaw would approve. Compare and contrast his reviews of the two films.

Hugo Weaving has joined the cast of Mel Gibson's star-studded Australian film Hacksaw Ridge.
Weaving will join Andrew Garfield, Sam Worthington, Vince Vaughn, Rachel Griffiths and Richard Roxburgh in the film, which is now in production.

The summer is here, and with the arrival of Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Jurassic World right around the corner, the heat is really kicking up. Still, no movie has had me as excited as Mad Max: Fury Road.
The trailers have been insane, and no movie in years has sold me so quickly with the theory of wild, adrenaline-rush like this one.
You’ve seen plenty in the trailers to get your mind racing, but the new set of images really give you a lot of information (I think) about how cool this really might be.
Just take a look at this one –
courtesy Warner Bros.
Sure, you’ve seen the idea in the trailer, but just the sheer insanity of everything in this image. If this movie doesn’t turn out to be the most fun of the year, that in itself will be a feat.

On Wednesday, the brand new trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road crashed in. Take a look at one of the best trailers you’re likely to see this or next year.
From director George Miller, originator of the post-apocalyptic genre and mastermind behind the legendary “Mad Max” franchise, comes Mad Max: Fury Road, a return to the world of the Road Warrior, Max Rockatansky.
Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.
