Gail O’Neill, the fashion model who worked with brands like Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren, and also served as a TV correspondent for CBS, CNN and HGTV, has died. She was 61.
The model was in her Atlanta home when she died on Oct. 10, her former Click Model agent Stephanie Grill told The Hollywood Reporter. Her cause of death was not immediately known.
O’Neill was discovered by photographer Chuck Baker and his stylist wife Martha, who approached her at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York in 1985. She was doing marketing for Xerox at the time, and by the following year, she was on the cover of British Vogue.
It didn’t take very long for her career to take off after that. She landed modeling gigs with famous photographers, including Annie Leibovitz, Arthur Elgort, Gilles Bensimon, Steven Meisel, Albert Watson, Fabrizio Ferri, Alex Chatelain and Patrick Demarchelier.

John Malkovich has always had a unique ability to transform into a character, but he has just upped the ante. Photographer Sandro Miller captured the actor in re-creations of a number of iconic photographs for a series called Malkovich, Malkovich, Malkovich. The name of the series alludes to a classic scene in Being John Malkovich. The photos will be on display at the Catherine Edelman Gallery in Chicago beginning Nov. 7. The works are truly stunning, with one featuring Malkovich re-creating Albert Watson's iconic "Albert Hitchcock With Goose" from 1973 (seen above). John Malkovich as Marilyn Monroe is perhaps a confounding image to think about, but the eccentric actor inhabits her persona, as well as a variety of others, in a new body of work from photographer Sandro Miller.
In Miller’s series Malkovich, Malkovich, Malkovich, the actor poses for Miller, who faithfully recreates some of history’s most iconic photographs, using Malkovich as the sole subject. In some cases that means Malkovich’s playing another celebrity, for instance, John Lennon nakedly cradling Yoko Ono in Miller’s take on Annie Leibovitz. In other instances he becomes the more anonymous figures who are nonetheless instantly recognizable,...

Twentieth Century Fox have been pushing out a new image to help start things rolling on the Matt Reeves ('Cloverfield', 'The Cabin in the Woods') helmed ape-tastic sci-fi sequel 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes'. The image is that of a monkeys hand with a gun tightly clasped in his grip. And if you think you've seen it somewhere before then that's likely because its actually a piece by Scottish photographer Albert Watson taken in New York in 1992 and entitled...surprisingly...'Monkey with Gun'. Writer Mark Bomback is on board the project to rewrite for Reeves. Brit actor Andy Serkis ('The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey') will return to his performance captured best for the reprising role of Caesar. Head below for the piece of art....

The follow up to the unexpectedly well-liked and thus strangely Oscar-ignored 2011 blockbuster Rise of The Planet of the Apes, has supposedly released its first teaser image. That's according to many websites none of which seem to directly link to the supposedly official page or when they do it's the "Rise" page from 2011 which does not include this image. (All I can find are fanmade pages for "Dawn" which are unofficial and have, at this writing, not posted this image). It's all very suspect since this image is from a piece by Albert Watson from 1992. But it's a Monkey with a Gun and people were just talking about Tarzan so one thing swings to another?
I guess people are excited about Memorial Day 2014 already!
What excellent timing.
P.S. That monkey is totally going to run out of bullets by the time this thing rolls around in 557 days!

The powers-that-be at Fox have been circulating an image today in honor of director Matt Reeves' upcoming Dawn of the Planet of the Apes along with the tagline "Evolution becomes revolution," and we have a peek at it for you right here.
Mind you, this is not an official still or bit of artwork from the film but is instead a 1992 art piece by Albert Watson titled "Monkey with Gun." Still, it more than conveys the message, does it not?
Matt Reeves, stepping into the shoes originally worn by Rupert Wyatt, is directing the sequel to Fox’s 2011 hit Rise of the Planet of the Apes, with the new movie continuing the story of how ultra-intelligent simian Caesar presides over the fall of human civilization.
Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa, who penned the first installment, wrote the initial draft for Dawn. Scott Burns had written a draft for Wyatt,...

Following the news from 20th Century Fox that the Rise of the Planet of the Apes sequel, appropriately and wordily titled Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, would arrive on May 23rd, 2014, the franchise prequel director Rupert Wyatt left the production. Thankfully, Matt Reeves (Let Me In, Cloverfield) has stepped up to take over directing duties and keep the production on track to meet the proposed release date in a year and a half. Now the film's official Facebook page has released some kind of odd teaser image for the sequel (though it's actually fan-made), and it looks like we may be seeing some pretty apes with guns soon enough. Here's the possibly fan-made teaser image for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, posted on Facebook: Update: This image is not actually an official studio promo, but is rather Albert Watson's photograph titled "Monkey With Gun" first...

Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes is set to begin filming this spring in Louisiana, and the official Facebook page for the movie just posted the following image.. We've reached out to Fox for confirmation, so we'll have to wait and see. I think it's a pretty cool way to promote the sequel - which will deal with the continuing evolution of the apes and the weakening human race - anyway. What about you guys? Update: Apparently this is fake, has nothing to do with the movie at all and is actually artist Albert Watson's 'Monkey With A Gun' Rupert Wyatt Matt Reeves will direct Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, which will be released May 23rd, 2014.
