Los Angeles, Jan 28 (Ians) Twelve more sexual assault lawsuits were filed Friday against jailed ‘Scrubs’ and ‘Californication’ writer and producer Eric Weinberg, who is accused of being a serial rapist.
Weinberg, 62, is also facing 18 criminal charges involving five women. Two women also filed lawsuits against him in November, alleging that he sexually assaulted them on separate occasions in 2019, reports Variety.
The new lawsuits accuse Weinberg of sexually assaulting 13 women from 1998 to 2017. The women ranged in age from 18 to 35 the the time of the assaults, and most of them allege a common pattern.
According to the complaints, Weinberg would meet women in a public place, such as a cafe or a grocery store, tell them he was a photographer and invite them to participate in a photo shoot.

It was an epic year in Hollywood. That’s true in terms of the actual business of entertainment, from the recalibration of streaming wars to the return of some legitimate big-screen hits (not to mention the return of Bob Iger).
Just as bold was the drama and scandal surrounding the business, from the worldwide shock of the Oscars slap to the final implosion of Time’s Up (even as some of the worst #MeToo abusers stood trial). And then there was the work itself, groundbreaking films like The Woman King, long-awaited blockbusters like Top Gun: Maverick and buzzy TV follow-ups like The White Lotus.
It was a year of attention-grabbing performances from both rising stars like Keke Palmer and Sydney Sweeney and resurgent vets like Michelle Yeoh, Brendan Fraser and Jennifer Lawrence.

I never worked on a TV show where a male writer declared it “rape day” or groped me or watched porn in the writers room, some of the actions attributed to Eric Weinberg. This was, as one female writer was quoted, “The worst of the worst.” This is the big stuff.
But in my nearly 20 years as a sitcom writer, I experienced plenty of medium to small stuff. Everything from a showrunner’s hanging women’s underpants on his lamp, to being told women aren’t funny, to being asked if my contribution to a script was making the coffee, to innumerable jokes about my breasts. Each time I’d laugh and blow it off. Yes, it wore me down. But I wanted to work. And it had happened on every show.
Except one. On that show, nothing like that happened. Ever.
When Michael Elias contacted me recently about the passing of Rich Eustis,...

Introducing himself as Eric Weinberg, he complimented her looks and asked if she was a model. He offered to do headshots for her free of charge — a tantalizing proposition for the aspiring actor — and told her that he wrote for the NBC sitcom Veronica’s Closet.
“I was kind of skeptical,” says Georgina, who requested The Hollywood Reporter use only her first name to protect her identity. Weinberg gave her the number of the writers room. “I called because I wanted to protect myself.” The receptionist vouched for him as “a nice guy.” Days later, Georgina arrived at his home, and, she recalls, “that’s when my whole world just blew up.”

Former Scrubs co-executive producer Eric Weinberg, currently incarcerated in downtown Los Angeles on 18 criminal counts of rape, has been sued in civil court by two different women for sexual assault.
“Plaintiff C.D. suffered physical, emotional, and economic harm as a result of Weinberg’s assault, and brings this action for sexual assault, sexual battery, sexual harassment, gender violence, assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligence,” says one of the filings (read it here) made late Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court. Describing an alleged 2019 rape in the producer’s L.A. home in graphic detail, the jury trial-seeking complaint asks for wide-ranging but unspecified damages.
Initially arrested by Los Angeles police in July on charges of multiple rapes strewn from 2012 to 2019, Weinberg was first released on a 3.2 million bail bond. Later upped to 5 million, that bail was revoked, and Weinberg was taken into custody October 25 after pleading not guilty at his arraignment.

Eric Weinberg, the former “Scrubs” and “Californication” executive producer and writer accused of raping possibly dozens of women by luring them to his Los Feliz family home for photo shoots, pleaded not guilty but will be held without bail until his next court date in November, a judge ruled Tuesday.
Weinberg had been allowed to go free after posting 5 million bail earlier this month. Before that, he had been free on 3 million bail since his initial arrest in mid-July, but the charges – and bail amount – had been adjusted, requiring his re-arrest.
At his Tuesday arraignment, Weinberg entered a plea of not guilty to 18 counts of rape, according to Deadline. But this time, there was to be no going free on bail.

Deemed a potential “serial rapist” by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge, former Scrubs co-executive producer Eric Weinberg was denied bail Tuesday and hauled away into custody in handcuffs by sheriff’s deputies.
Charged with 18 counts of rape, Weinberg entered a not guilty plea. He will be held at Twin Towers jail pending his next court hearing scheduled for November 15.
Throughout the contentious hearing, Weinberg’s lawyers strenuously objected to the no-bail motion, arguing for electronic monitoring, or house arrest, all of which fell on deaf ears.
Before announcing her decision on bail, Superior Court Judge Victoria B. Wilson said “first and foremost, the protection of the public” is her primary focus, then declaring “The defendant will be held without bail.”
Explaining her reasoning, Wilson said “The defendant has engaged in a pattern of violence for at least six years, calling Weinberg a potential “serial rapist” and describing his behavior as “brazen and predatory.

Eric Weinberg, the TV producer and “Scrubs” writer accused of sexual assaults by dozens of women across multiple decades, was arrested for a second time at his Los Feliz home – and like the first time, was able to go free on bail.
Weinberg was released on 5 million bond posted for 18 counts of sexual assault, according to booking records from the Tuesday arrest. Weinberg was previously arrested July 14 for 20 sexual assault counts, and went free on 3.2 million bond after a few nights in jail.
He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 25 for arraignment.
The 18 counts were brought by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office. It wasn’t immediately clear whether the bail was new separate or remanded for a higher amount. Karen Silver, Weinberg’s divorce lawyer who previously denied wrongdoing on his behalf, was not available for comment Tuesday. Forms seeking clarity from the LAPD and district attorney’s office were in process.

Eric Weinberg, a television writer and producer best known for his work on “Scrubs”, has been charged with 18 counts of sexual assault.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office recently brought forward the charges, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Weinberg was arrested on Tuesday and released on a bail of 5 million. He was previously arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department on July 14 and held on a bail of 3.225 million for multiple charges of sexual assault.
More than two dozen women spoke to the publication about alleged patterns of “predatory behavior and misconduct” dating back to 2000, “including claims of inappropriate conduct involving minors.”
THR wrote that Weinberg allegedly used photography as a pretense to get close to the alleged women. Weinberg reportedly “would pressure them during shoots into taking off clothing. In a press conference on Wednesday, District Attorney George Gascón said that his office asked that Weinberg remain in detention without bail but that a judge denied the request. Paul Haggis can argue at his civil sexual assault trial in New York that the Church of Scientology is behind the claims of rape, a judge ruled Friday.
Haggis faces trial next month in New York, where publicist Haleigh Breest accused him of raping her after a film premiere in January 2013. The two-time Oscar-winning “Crash” director maintains the encounter was consensual, and that Scientology operatives are out to smear him for leaving – and then openly and harshly criticizing – the church.
Lawyers for Breest sought to block that theory, but Judge Sabrina Kraus ruled Friday to allow it, according to documents obtained by TheWrap. However, Kraus did block Haggis from brining up a previous lawsuit he filed against Breest for inflicting emotional distress, which was dismissed; their settlement talks; and any reference to her financial condition.

Tiffany Haddish and fellow comic Aries Spiers have been accused of coercing two young children, ages 7 and 14, to perform inappropriate and sexually charged on-camera acts in two paid videos beginning in 2013.
In a lawsuit filed Monday and first reported Thursday by TMZ and obtained by TheWrap, the older child alleges two separate incidents in which she and her brother were encouraged to perform sexually suggestive acts on-camera. The suit was filed by Jane Doe, now 22, and on behalf of her younger brother John Doe, now 14.
A lawyer for Haddish told TheWrap that the children’s mother has been trying for years to extort money from the comedian, calling the claims “bogus” and a “shakedown.”
“Plaintiff’s mother … has been trying to assert these bogus claims against Ms. Haddish for several years,” the attorney said. ”Every attorney who has initially taken on her case — and there were several — ultimately dropped the...

Eric Weinberg, a television writer and producer for shows like “Scrubs” and “Californication” who was arrested in July for “multiple” reports of sexual assaults, is accused by more than two dozen women — many speaking on the record — of luring them to his family home, where he brazenly sexually assaulted them, according to The Hollywood Reporter in a story published Thursday.
The exhaustive report details Weinberg’s pattern of approaching young women in public places, using his Hollywood credentials — along with scripted flattery and calculated assurances — to gain their trust and interest. Once at his home, Weinberg was repeatedly described as becoming immediately sexually and physically aggressive, pushing past spoken boundaries and often taking graphic pictures as he carried out the assaults.
There is evidence Weinberg has been engaged in this pattern for more than 20 years, and investigators suggest that the victims could number in the hundreds. THR said it spoke...

In July, five-time Emmy nominee Eric Weinberg was arrested on 20 charges of sexual assault, including rape. He currently remains free on a 3.25 million bail. Now, a new The Hollywood Reporter exposé reveals the long road to Weinberg’s arrest and why a detective on the case believes the claims of sexual assault, including rape, kidnapping, harassment, and stalking only “scratch the surface.”
The “Scrubs” co-executive producer and writer was arrested July 14 on sexual assault charges dating from 2012 to 2019. Approximately 30 women spoke with THR about their encounters with Weinberg, who allegedly approached them in public areas throughout Los Angeles, listed his Hollywood credentials with shows like “Californication” and “Anger Management,” and persuaded them to pose for his amateur photography. Claims range from 2000 through 2021 and include claims across Oregon and New York as well as California.
Weinberg is accused of violent rape under the guise of photo shoots or an OKCupid date.

Only one question remained; will there be a second season?
That question has not been answered yet. In this episode, there was a lot of action and very little comedy. There was an awkward enema at the hospital, but this episode stayed mostly with the tone of drama. Like vampires, zombies are in vogue right now, so much so that even the Disney Channel is getting in on the act, News reaches us from Awn that the network has ordered a pilot for a new high-school based series that features not only zombies but that most evil of high-schooler, the cheerleader. On top of all that, the pilot, entitled Zombies and Cheerleaders, is also a musical..!
From the press release:
Disney Channel has ordered the music-driven pilot “Zombies and Cheerleaders.” Production on the pilot begins in December in consideration for a Disney Channel series to premiere in 2012.
The story follows Zed Necrodopolis, a typical high school student with one small caveat; he happens to be a zombie. Despite a high-tech wristwatch designed to curb any appetite he may have for his classmates, he and his zombie friends remain unpopular with the school’s most influential group, the pom-pom wielding cheerleaders.
