- Hubert Wells was born on August 15, 1934 in Gyugy, Somogy, Hungary. He was an actor and producer, known for Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992), The Phantom (1996) and Out of Africa (1985). He died on December 25, 2022 in Thousand Oaks, California, USA.
- He was an official staff member of Thousand Oaks, California's cinematic and television zoological sanctuary "Animals Actors of Hollywood".
- Wells temporarily replaced Eric Thal for the lion attack sequence in Turner Network Television's Biblical miniseries Samson and Delilah (1996). His trained adult male African lion, Sudan performed as the lion in that scene. However, part of the sequence featured a mechanical lion. It was supplied from Jim Henson's Creature Shop in London, England.
- Wells evaded Hungary's Iron Curtain in 1956 and immigrated to Millbrook, New York where he made friends with Frank Trevor professionally working as a veterinarian with him. He moved to Hollywood, California eight years later.
