“Please leave the grid,” the voice on the loudspeaker announced over and over again to the thick crowd that gathered at the starting lines for the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix on Nov. 18. It was moments before the 10 p.m. Saturday evening debut of the 3.8 mile, 210 mph race that wound through the streets of Las Vegas, and famous onlookers were everywhere around the track. While the sport has always attracted the elite, on this occasion the invited guest list was befitting all the spectacle and hoopla surrounding the half-billion-dollar event. Justin Bieber, Cara Delevingne, Patrick Dempsey, Terry Crews, Kylie Minogue, Brad Pitt, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, Leonardo DiCaprio, George Lucas, David Beckham, Usain Bolt, Steve Aoki, Gordon Ramsay, Lupita Nyong’o, Lindsey Vonn, Shawn White Martin Garrix, Sir Rod Stewart, Anthony Mackie, Gayle King, Brooklyn Beckham and more milled about, from the garages, the grid and pit to the exclusive Wynn...

“Saturday Night Live” has undergone a lot of retooling over the summer — with a lot of castmembers exiting the show and four new actors signing on. So they made sure to address the slew of differences with a self-referential cold-open featuring the night’s host, Miles Teller.
Teller played Peyton Manning, joined by his brother Eli Manning (Andrew Dismukes), as they live-commented on the “Saturday Night Live” cold-open sketch, and brutally criticized the sketch.
The bit got even more meta when Jon Hamm joined Peyton and Eli as a special guest commentator and all three of them got in on the fun of making fun of the cast’s gaffes in the sketch-within-a-sketch.
At one point, Shawn White showed up for a one-line cameo and Hamm joked, “Well, you know, sometimes they need to bring in a real celebrity when the host isn’t that famous… I mean, they couldn...

Saturday Night Live cast member Cecily Strong is not leaving the sketch show, despite failing to appear in the season 48 premiere.
The actor is currently appearing on stage in a production of The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles.
As such, her absence from the show is expected to be a temporary one. In total, eight of her fellow cast members from last year permanently left over the summer: Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Pete Davidson. Alex Moffat, Kyle Mooney, Chris Redd, Melissa Villaseñor and Aristotle Athari.
New additions include Marcello Hernandez, Molly Kearney, Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker.
The major cast shake-up was addressed during the episode’s cold open. When first-time host Miles Teller lamented that there were no impressions of Anthony Fauci, Lindsey Graham or Rudy Giuliano, co-star Andrew Dismukes pointed out that: “Those were all Kate McKinnon.

Jon Hamm joined host Miles Teller for the cold open of tonight’s season premiere of Saturday Night Live (1 October).
The Mad Men and Confess Fletch starplayed himself in the sketch, which spoofed ESPN’s football analysis show ManningCast. Teller was cast as Payton Manning while SNL regular Andrew Dismukes appeared as his brother Eli Manning.
After a one-line cameo from snowboarder Shawn White, Hamm poked fun at Teller by claiming the show sometimes resorted to stunt casting. “Sometimes they need to bring in a real celebrity when the host isn't that famous,” he commented. “I mean, when they couldn't get the star of the big summer movie, your Tom Cruise or your Jon Hamm, they had to get the co-star.”
Teller starred alonside Cruise and Hamm in this year’s Top Gun: Maverick.
The self-referential routine also featured the characters offering a scathing assessment of a sketch set at Mar-a-Lago,...

Hello Huffington Post Makeup Readers!
As a makeup artist in the beauty business for many decades now, I've run the gamut of what we might consider and catch phrase "vain unimaginables." For instance, it would be vain and unimaginable to not be fully stocked on Diet Cokes at any given photo shoot for fear of bloating. It would also be vain and unimaginable to wake up to a huge pimple the morning of your big movie premiere and not be able to fully conceal it and it would most certainly be vain and unimaginable to run out of individual eye lashes while getting someone ready for their red carpet event...

Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Beyoncé onstage together; Gaga kicking off the show in drag backed by a legendary rock guitarist; Adele pitting a stripped-down stage show against the likes of surprise performers Jay-z and Kanye West's pyrotechnics; and legendary grunge trio Nirvana name-checked by Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and Chris Brown like it was 1991.
It was, of course, the 2011 VMAs. And women ruled the night.
Five of the eight televised awards (including, of course, Best Female Video) went to strong females: Video of the Year (Katy Perry), Best Pop Video (Britney), Best Hip-Hop Video (Nicki Minaj), Best Collaboration (Perry, with Kanye) and Best Female Video (Gaga).

It was the vets against the new rockers on the block at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, as the Foo Fighters, the Black Keys and Mumford & Sons faced off against Foster the People and Cage the Elephant for Best Rock Video. Foo took home the prize, and delivered an impassioned defense of rock music along the way.
Miley Cyrus and Shawn White were on hand to bestow the Moonman on Dave Grohl and company, whose "Walk" video bested the Black Keys' "Howlin' for You," Cage's "Shake Me Down," Foster's "Pumped Up Kicks" and Mumford's "The Cave."
"We'd like to thank Sam Jones, the director; Joel Schumacher, the director of 'Falling Down,...

Justin Timberlake, Mila Kunis and Emma Stone Strut Their Stuff on "Friends with Benefits" Red Carpet
While the upcoming Justin Timberlake/Mila Kunis flick Friends With Benefits might sound a lot like the Ashton Kutcher/Natalie Portman RomCom No Strings Attached movie from earlier this year, there are at least two important differences. First, the word of mouth is good (check out our review on Friday) and second, it has a gay character played by Woody Harrelson. Even better, according to Justin Timberlake, the movie went out of its way to make the character wasn't just a stereotypical gay bestfriend.
Unfortunately, Harrelson wasn't on the red carpet at the New York premiere, but Kunis was there looking smoking hot in a red dress and Timberlake showed his fashion sense truly has evolved since his early days.

One month after the regrettable end of award season, we get one glorious hour-and-a-half return of the arbitrary kudo. Omg, it's the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2011!
So whether you're a kid, a curious adult in need of a recap or, like us, someone over the age of 17 watching electively and feeling like a total creep for it, here are some musings on the highlights and lowlights of the whole squee-filled, slime-covered, seizure-inducing thing:
We respect a good Monster Truck joke as much as the next guy, but did host Jack Black really need to open the show by destroying two perfectly good limousines? Let's teach the children well... At least he sang. Are we insane for thinking his mass-choreographed "I Got a Feeling" wasn't totally lame?
The Black Eyed Peas did show him up, though. And their performance certainly eclipsed their awkward turn at the Super Bowl. We just wish...

If there wasn't enough star power for you on the Oscars red carpet or at the Elton John party, you're in luck because there's even more at the Vanity Fair bash! We took a look at the amazing and adorable inside shots from the event, but the lush greenery outside the Sunset Towers makes for some gorgeous arrivals shots. Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin are becoming pros at posing together, while Jennifer Westfeldt made sure to stick by her handsome man Jon Hamm's side. Taylor Lautner was solo for a bit but spent much of his evening with Twilight saga costar Kristen Stewart, who was spotted sneaking out barefoot at the end of her night. Kate Bosworth and Alexander Skarsgard are still playing the separate arrivals game, and Natalie Portman didn't bring her rumored ballet-dancing boyfriend. Diane Kruger changed out of her controversial Chanel number and into something beautiful and bright,...

Every two years, the Olympics come into our lives and take over our televisions, allowing us at home to watch the great athletes from across the globe battle it out. The Olympics are great for many reasons; they unify countries, they glorify the greatest, and they give much needed spirit to the nations involved. Humanitarian and 3x Grammy-winner Sarah McLachlan has been honored with providing us with the official theme song for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. And you know that you can make it, You've got the whole world in your hands. Cause you've spent your lifetime working for this moment And you are shining You are all that you wanted to be And you are shining You're all that you wanted to be The touching and inspiring lyrics will keep the Olympians warm during the frigid Vancouver nights and motivate them to go for the gold. The winter games...
