Imagine you are on a lonely dark road, and you just need that reaffirming voice to guide you to safety. Well the navigational app Waze has you covered for such an event. News has broken that Waze has teamed up with famed Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy. Conroy came to be known as the voice of Batman The Animated Series in the early 90s, and has been a staple in the DC Universe ever since voicing Batman in various medias such as direct to video films and video games, and now you can hear his voice on Waze. From now until October 31, Conroy—the best Batman ever will be your narrator, and if you’re more of a villainous kind of person, you can select Wally Wingert as the Riddler (from Batman: Arkham) to guide you instead. The app will also let you swap out your car icon for the...

Always a good opportunity to recognize the many sides of the Dark Knight’s legacy, this year’s Batman Day will be taking place on September 19th. In previous years, we’ve had the Bat-Signal lighting up various cities, as well as multiple tie-ins and other special promotions. For 2020, DC have opted for an all-virtual celebration, due to Covid-19, but have plenty of things planned for those wanting to take part via apps and other digital media.
First up, Waze are running a theme for “Batman and the Riddler” that includes associated Spotify playlists, with the special feature available from August 31st to October 31st. Directions will be given by Kevin Conroy, or through Wally Wingert’s voice as the Riddler, while there’ll also be Batmobile icons and Bat-moods (we’d imagine these’ll lean towards the brooding side).
In addition, BatmanDay.com will feature extensive interactive choices, including...

Cult classic Invader Zim makes an unlikely return to Nickelodeon for a TV movie.
It’s been over a decade, but the groundbreaking animated sci-fi comedy series, Invader Zim, is finally returning to television with an hour-long television movie. The brainchild of comic book artist and writer Jhonen Vasquez, the series premiered on Nickelodeon in 2001, but was canceled during production of the second season. Though an ongoing comic materialized in 2015, fans of the cult hit have long hoped for Zim’s return to the small screen.
The original series follows Zim, an incompetent alien with delusions of grandeur who screams a lot, as he repeatedly fails to conquer planet Earth. He’s been sent there along with Gir, his incompetent robot assistant who also screams a lot, by their alien overlords, The Almighty Tallest, who just want Zim as far away as possible from “Operation Impending Doom II,...

Last year, Warner Bros. treated us with the awesome Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, which saw the likes of Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar reprise their roles of Batman, Robin and Catwoman, respectively. Being essentially the beginning to a fourth season we never received, it surpassed expectations by retaining the feel of the classic 1960’s television series, while also featuring grandiose action scenes that could’ve never been accomplished on the budget of the show.
Having said that, we’re thrilled to see that its sequel, Batman vs. Two-Face, looks like it may be even better. In addition to the return of the aforementioned actors, expect William Shatner to lend his pipes to the dichotomous Harvey Dent, a character who never actually appeared on the TV show itself during its original run.
As for the rest of the major players, here goes: Jeff Bergman (Joker, Bookworm, Desmond Dumas), Sirena Irwin (Dr.

When Batman debuted on ABC in 1966, I was not yet eight years old, a prime target for this pop-art event. I was already a diehard comic book fan and couldn’t contain my excitement at seeing the heroes and villains come off the four-color pages and onto our then-new color TV. I was very excited and had no clue just how campy it was. That came later as the reruns began on Wpix and throughout the 1970s.
The Batman phenomenon has proven incredibly influential on several generations of comic book fans, professional writers, artists, and animators, and beyond. Thankfully, whatever legal entanglements there were between Greenway Productions, 20th Century Fox, and Warner Bros got ironed out, allowing a new generation of fans to glory in what is now known as Batman ’66. The latest offering is the direct-to-dvd animated feature Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, starring the voices of Adam West,...

The spotlight shines on far more than the core trio of iconic stars of Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders. With the likes of primetime television veterans Steven Weber and Thomas Lennon leading the way, the full-length animated feature film boasts a supporting cast of notable voices from across all entertainment mediums and some of the best-loved animated properties.
Adam West (Batman), Burt Ward (Robin) and Julie Newmar (Catwoman) own top billing, but Weber (Wings, iZombie, NCIS: New Orleans) and Lennon (The Odd Couple, Reno 911!) – as trustworthy butler Alfred Pennyworth and Chief O’Hara, respectively – headline an impressive array of actors who were excited to give voice to a role in a Batman film.

Believe it or not, we’re about to receive our fourth animated movie headlined by a certain masked hero this year when Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders arrives this fall. The difference, of course, being that this one continues the proud legacy of the television series from the 1960’s, which happens to be celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Although it has been known for some time that Adam West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar are reprising their iconic roles of Batman, Robin, and Catwoman, respectively, it has remained a mystery as to who would round out the rest of the cast – until now, that is.

Poor Rosemary. All she wants is a drink and a smile, but an ill-advised one-night stand provides oh so much more. Martini Mom & Devil Spawn is the tale of a, shall we say, directionless young woman whose aperitif existence becomes increasingly complicated when she bears the spawn of Satan.
Martini Mom is best described as a screwball comedy with a cutting edge. When I spoke with Snively recently about the DVD release of Trippin', her first feature, she called the series "Rosemary's Baby meets Absolutely Fabulous with South Park /Family Guy-esque satirical humor, and the occasional gore and/or musical number.

Inspired by the announcement that an adaptation of 80s coin-op Rampage is in the works, here’s a list of ten other 80s videogames we’d like to see in cinemas…
If the news we brought to you on Friday is to be believed, we could soon see a big-screen adaptation of 80s arcade machine Rampage before too long. And with recent years seeing Hollywood take inspiration from such disparate properties as Battleship (out next year), Stretch Armstrong and Asteroids, it seems that the dusty arcades of yesteryear are becoming as inspiring as old board games and half-forgotten toys.
With this in mind, we’ve dredged through the history of the 80s golden age of coin-ops to bring you a few of our own adaptation concepts. Do bear in mind that some of these ideas are better than others, so if you’ve suggestions of your own, feel free to...

Developers Rocksteady have revealed the new Riddler trailer for Batman: Arkham City, the follow-up to the critically acclaimed Arkham Asylum.
The teaser, available to watch on YouTube, shows the Caped Crusader come up against a series of Saw-like traps laid out by old nemesis the Riddler, involving spinning blades, a damsel in distress and mysterious algebraic equations.
Den Of Geek reports that Rocksteady have promised to divulge more details over the coming months, hinting that similar trailers may be released for the variety of other villains who appear in the game.
Set a year after its predecessor, the sequel sees former Arkham Asylum warden Quincy Sharp become mayor, and use a large portion of Gotham’s slums to create Arkham City. Inside it, the prisoners from the defunct asylum are given free rein, on the condition that they do not attempt escape.

Yonkers - Ernie Kovacs is the patron saint of innovative TV comedies. His impact can be felt on everything from Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In to Monty Python’s Flying Circus to Saturday Night Live. Shout! Factory’s The Ernie Kovacs Collection gives a survey of his short yet stellar career that ended in 1962 with his death. Over the course of six DVDs, you realize this guy truly revolutionized what you could do on TV.
The boxset doesn’t have any of the episodes from his original Three to Get Ready show that aired on Philly TV. But we get a healthy helping of his other shows that allowed him to bounce between NBC, CBS, ABC and even the legendary DuMont. Along with creating comedy shows, he hosted talkshows, gameshows and even variety shows. He even contributed to Mad Magazine. His famous mustache and cigar popped up all over the dial.

Sneak Peek new screenshots from "Batman: Arkham City", the sequel to the 'stealth' video game "Batman: Arkham Asylum", based on DC Comics' 'Batman'.
The new game, for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows is being developed by Rocksteady Studios, published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Comics, for a 2011 release.
The story takes place one year after the events of "Arkham Asylum", with 'Quincy Sharp', former warden of the asylum, taking credit for stopping the 'Joker' and using that notoriety to become mayor of 'Gotham City'.
Because neither 'Arkham' or 'Blackgate Prison' are in any condition to hold inmates, Sharp buys out a large section of Gotham's slums and arms the perimeter with mercenaries from a group called 'Tyger'.
Prisoners are brought into Arkham City and given free rein, overseen by psychiatrist 'Hugo Strange'.
