Convicted sex offender Victor Salva has resurfaced with the Fathom Events one-night re-release of “Jeepers Creepers 3,” which will play October 24. However, Salva’s victim, Nathan Forrest Winters, said he’s unsurprised that the director’s career continues.
“To be honest with you, I feel like everything I’ve done to raise awareness and remind people of his crime and the abuse that I’ve been through has been suppressed all along,” Winters, 44, told IndieWire. “It’s been a constant uphill battle.”
Fathom and Screen Media first released “Jeepers Creepers 3” September 26, 2017, when it grossed $2.3 million over two nights. That came just weeks before a tweet from Alyssa Milano that helped jumpstart the conversation around sexual misconduct in Hollywood.
Salva’s crime came some 30 years before, when he was convicted of sexual misconduct with the 12-year-old Winters, who starred in his first feature in 1989, “Clownhouse.” Salva was working in a child care...

Contentious horror threequel Jeepers Creepers 3 is coming to TV a lot sooner than you think, thanks to Syfy’s ongoing 31 Days of Halloween event.
Word comes by way of Dread Central, confirming that Victor Salva’s troubled and indeed long-in-development flick will swoop onto television on Saturday, October 28th at 9pm, before Syfy stages an encore showing on Sunday, October 29th at the earlier time of 7pm.
Since Jeepers Creepers 3 was first hatched, Salva’s follow-up has become the cinematic equivalent of a hot potato. Major theaters chains quickly distanced themselves from the project, restricting Jeepers Creepers 3 to one-night-only screenings back in September.
Of course, as I’m sure you’re well aware, Victor Salva’s criminal record is the sole source of controversy, given the filmmaker was convicted for sexual misconduct with a minor more than 10 years ago. His victim, Nathan Forrest Winters, has since issued...

A mention of child molestation in “Jeepers Creepers 3” is drawing revulsion because the film’s writer and director, Victor Salva, was convicted of child molestation in 1988. The 59-year-old filmmaker was convicted in the molestation of Nathan Forrest Winters, an actor in his film “Clownhouse,” who was 12 at the time. Salva was also convicted of videotaping the sex act and of possessing commercial videotapes and child porn magazines. He served 15 months out of his three-year sentence. According to IndieWire, the third installment of the “Jeepers Creepers” franchise does not depict any child molestation, but does include a scene in which.

It’s going on 17 years since the original Jeepers Creepers took flight, when film fans were introduced to an all-new and downright terrifying horror icon in the form of The Creeper.
Initially conceived by series creator Victor Salva, The Creeper is a winged demon that feasts on human flesh every 23rd spring, and thanks to the recent launch of Jeepers Creepers 3, there’s another harvest on the cards. But while reflecting on the breakout success of Salva’s 2001 thriller, Creeper actor Jonathan Breck discussed the franchise’s lasting legacy in an exhaustive interview with IGN.
It’s a legacy that has undoubtedly been tainted by Victor Salva’s dubious past, after the contentious filmmaker served 15 months in state prison for sexual misconduct with a minor. And though his victim, Nathan Forrest Winters, has since issued a candid statement regarding the release of Jeepers Creepers 3, the horror threequel continues...

Director Victor Salva has caused quite the stir going into the release of Jeepers Creepers 3. And that’s putting it mildly.
Now teetering on the verge of its contentious theatrical debut, the film has sparked heated debate across the four corners of the Internet, with horror fans essentially deliberating the fate of Salva’s latest venture. On the one hand, there are those out there who plan to vote with their wallet and forego Jeepers Creepers 3 entirely – hence those threats of protesting late last month – while others are of the belief that Victor Salva deserves a second chance despite his dubious past.
In case you’re not in the know: the filmmaker was accused of sexual misconduct with a minor almost two decades ago, and served 15 months in state prison. Also of note, his victim, Nathan Forrest Winters, has since issued a statement to say that it’s really up...

On the eve of release, American Zoetrope and Myriad Pictures have conjured up a trio of terrifying clips for Jeepers Creepers 3, the long-in-development horror flick that’s coming by way of Victor Salva. And therein lies the source of controversy.
Truth be told, the sequel known as Ravenous will soon face another uphill battle if it’s to really attract a mass audience. Jeepers Creepers has always been celebrated as a cult franchise with its own quirks and spooky delights, but the threequel has been a big point of contention amongst horror fans, mostly due to Salva’s heinous crime, for which he served 15 months in state prison. For the record, his victim, Nathan Forrest Winters, has since issued a statement to say that it’s really up to the audience whether they want to catch The Creeper’s resurrection on the silver screen.

Is there a more contentious horror film than Jeepers Creepers 3?
Victor Salva’s long-in-development threequel was first hatched in 2006, and has been dogged by production woes and setbacks ever since. And that’s before you factor Salva’s dubious past into the equation. In short: the filmmaker was accused of sexual misconduct with a minor almost two decades ago, and served 15 months in state prison. His victim, Nathan Forrest Winters, has since come out to say that it’s really up to the viewer whether they choose to support Jeepers Creepers 3. You can read his full, candid statement here.
As for the film itself, it’s now on the verge of its limited theatrical release, and an international trailer has clawed its way online to prove it. Embedded above, today brings forth an extended peek at The Creeper, which is about to begin its bloodthirsty harvest. Not unlike the Pennywise of Stephen King’s It,...

Third time’s the charm?
That’s the tentative message of hope attached to Jeepers Creepers 3, Victor Salva’s long-brewing horror threequel that is beginning to emerge from a troubled spell in development. Shackled by false starts and numerous setbacks, for years, it looked certain that The Creeper had been banished for good – expelled from the horror scene through inactivity, rather than an unlikely group of on-screen heroes.
But just as Victor Salva’s creation lies dormant for generations before beginning a new harvest, Jeepers Creepers 3 is ready to take flight. Truth be told, the sequel known as Ravenous faces another uphill battle if it’s to really attract an audience in three weeks’ time, mostly due to Salva’s heinous crime, for which he served 15 months in state prison. Jeepers Creepers 3 is a mystery wrapped in a riddle nestled inside a piece of human skin an enigma.
Much of that confusion comes down to the prolonged time gap between the long-brewing horror threequel and its predecessor – Jeepers Creepers 2, for instance, first took flight in 2003 – not to mention the heinous controversy involving franchise creator and director, Victor Salva. In short: the filmmaker was accused of sexual misconduct with a minor almost two decades ago, and served 15 months in state prison.
It’s a controversial saga that has resulted in many horror fans distancing themselves from the Jeepers Creepers franchise altogether, and whether Salva deserves another shot behind the lens or not is something we’ll leave to you. But even after Wednesday’s high-profile cancellation of the film’s premiere, Jeepers Creepers 3 is still prepped and ready to take flight. And that’s something which the director’s victim completely understands.

As reported by Bloody Disgusting earlier this week, Jeepers Creepers 3 is looking to start production in Vancouver next month, with Gina Phillips allegedly set to reprise her role from the first movie. And yet many fans may not be familiar with the criminal past of franchise director Victor Salva: a 15 month prison stint for sexually molesting Nathan Forrest Winters, the 12-year-old star of his 1989 horror film Clownhouse. Since JC3 was first announced, outrage has been brewing over Salva's involvement, but is it possible to separate the artist from the art? For some, it clearly isn't; for others, knowledge of the director's terrible act won't preclude them from enjoying the franchise's long-awaited third entry. On this week's episode of HitFix's new horror chat series Nightmare Fuel, I discuss the complex issue with horror filmmaker, author and Dread Central West Coast contributor Staci Layne Wilson, in addition to the forthcoming Jacob's Ladder remake,...

When news broke this morning that "Jeepers Creepers 3" was ramping up production 12 years after the second film hit theaters, my thoughts almost immediately drifted to director Victor Salva, who helmed the first two "Jeepers" films and is also, as a number of tweeters have already pointed out, a convicted child molester. The crime in question occurred during the shooting of Salva's 1989 feature debut "Clownhouse," when the then-29-year-old director filmed himself having oral sex with the film's 12-year-old star, Nathan Forrest Winters. After the tape was discovered during a police raid (Winters had informed his mother of the abuse), Salva was jailed and served 15 months of a 3 year prison term before being released on parole. He is now (and will forever be) a registered sex offender in Los Angeles County. Those are the facts; and despite them Salva has continued to work in the industry, helming a total of eight...

Starring: Nathan Forrest Winters (Casey), Brian McHugh (Geoffrey), Sam Rockwell (Randy), Michael Jerome West (Lunatic Cheezo), Byron Weible (Lunatic Bippo), David C. I had heard of this film in passing but never made the effort to actually watch it. I mostly know director Victor Salva from his work on the “Jeepers Creepers” movies. To my surprise, this movie is incredibly atmospheric and has just enough creep factor to make a person’s phobia of clowns increase.
The plot revolves around three young brothers who are alone while their parents are away. Shortly thereafter, some escaped mental patients murder some clowns...
