Kid Rock made sure the run-up to his 40th birthday on Monday, January 17 was one to remember - he performed in front of 45,000 fans in his hometown on Saturday, January 15. The "All Summer Long" hitmaker organized a concert in his native Detroit, Michigan, with tickets selling out in under 20 minutes.
The star's milestone celebration kicked off in style as he took to the stage to a rendition of Birthday by The Beatles, before fellow musician Uncle Kracker joined him for "Good to Be Me". Kid Rock also received birthday messages from U.S. talk show hosts Conan O'Brien and Jay Leno, who both appeared in taped videos on huge screens at Detroit's Ford Field stadium.
Coming as guests at the celebration were Sheryl Crow, Peter Wolf, Martina McBride, Joseph "Rev Run" Simmons and Anita Baker.

You could say that Huffington Post has been solidly behind Peter Wolf's latest solo album Midnight Souvenirs. Let's see. Sal Nunziato let you know it was a killer back in March. (He doesn't review concerts so much as recreate the feeling he had while attending them.) That appeared on his own website, but he's such a HuffPost regular it counts. I even gave a shout out to the CD...

I prefer foreign music, ideally instrumental, or, if not, in a language I didn't understand. He doesn't put out a batch of unrelated songs, he makes what used to be called "albums," and they take you on a carefully sequenced adventure. Midnight Souvenirs, his new CD, eight years in the making, is exciting, flawless and destined for heavy rotation. Seriously: Good luck trying not to love this. Andy...
