Keshet International has commissioned the six-part docuseries “Hitler’s Treasure Hunters” from production outfit Perpetual Entertainment(“Troppo”).
Ki’s second straight-to-series factual order for international distribution, which figures into a new Greenlight: Factual & Formats commissioning initiative, the show centers Heinrich Himmler’s Das Ahnenerbe, a branch of the Nazi SS that sought religious relics and high-value international artifacts – such as the Holy Grail and Thor’s Hammer – in order to gain solid footing in the war and advance Aryan supremacy.
The show’s release next year is set to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the death of Hitler and the end of World War II.
“Keshet International’s Greenlight: Factual & Formats initiative is allowing us to find a different way of getting new content onto TV screens around the world by responding collaboratively to market needs. Perpetual Entertainment’s pitch for ‘Hitler’s Treasure Hunters’ stood out because it...

Exclusive: Keshet International has boarded Channel 5’s documentary on Sarah Everard’s killer Wayne Couzens.
Wayne Couzens: Killer in Plain Sight joins the Israeli powerhouse’s catalog alongside ITV show Ellie Simmonds: My Secret Family.
Produced by an all-female team at Flicker Productions, the former, a 90-minute feature, explores the failings of the investigation into the serving Met Police Officer who used his position to rape and murder Everard in 2021. Using Couzens as a thread, the documentary examines the wider story of sexual violence in the police force, where sexual predators and domestic abusers were hidden in plain sight, to ask if women’s faith in policing can be restored while representing voices of survivors of police sexual violence.
The doc, which aired last month to 750,000 viewers on the Paramount network, came two years after the murder that sparked nationwide protests and vigils in support of women’s rights.

Keshet International has closed deals with Dpg Media (Belgium), TV 2 (Denmark) and TV4 in Finland and Sweden for the hidden camera investigation “Undercover: Sexual Harassment – The Truth,” which debuted on Channel 4 in December.
Produced by Kalel Productions, the film sees investigative reporter Ellie Flynn revealing the true extent of sexual harassment towards women of all ages in the U.K. Accompanied by hidden crew members, she goes undercover, enduring countless harassment online and in real-life.
“These are stories that women tell one another in their friendship groups or on social media. I wanted to show that feeling,” Flynn tells Variety.
“Sometimes, when you try to explain how sexual harassment feels or the impact it has on you, people – and by people I think often men – just don’t get it. It was trying to highlight that, [saying]: ‘This is why we are scared.’ It can happen anytime you go out.

Rejoice, language nerds! While the Merriam-Webster dictionary tried to gaslight us into believing that “gaslight” was 2022’s word of the year, the venerable American Dialect Society — a group of linguistic scholars founded in 1889 — has overwhelmingly voted for a different, far more important term to commemorate this moment in time: the suffix “-ussy.”
This says a lot about societussy
— Ryan Jones (@RyanOfJones) January 7, 2023
Anyone who gets a little too much daily screen time will have encountered the “-ussy” form of a word, which posits the existence a sexual cavity in whatever...

Back in March, when CNN's Don Lemon asked if it was "preposterous" to suggest that Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 may have disappeared into a black hole, it was undoubtedly one of the most cringe-worthy TV news moments of the year. But this 3 a.m. comment from the lesser-known Fox News anchor Kelly Wright about the newly-missing AirAsia plane isn't far behind.

Jamestown, New York (Reuters) - More than 900 red-lipsticked, redheaded women -- and men -- gathered near a "Vitameatavegamin" sign in the hometown of "I Love Lucy" star Lucille Ball to mark her 100th birthday over the weekend, setting a world record for most Lucy look-alikes.
Sporting upswept hairdos and blue-and-white polka dot dresses, Saturday's crowd of 915 Lucy Ricardos established the first Guinness world record in her honor. It was all part of the annual Lucy Fest in Jamestown, which drew fans from as far away as Australia to the normally sleepy town of 30,000 people in upstate New York.
"This is a once in a lifetime experience. It has to be the best time in my life," said Cindy Wilson, 22, of Cleveland, Ohio.

"There's no McDreamy or McSteamy here," says Amanda Grabowski, one of the nurses featured on the new ABC News series, Boston Med. The eight-part documentary chronicles the real-life drama of life, death and the toll they take on doctors, nurse and patients at three of Boston's top hospitals: Massachusetts General, Brigham and Women's, and Children's Hospital Boston.
There may not be any Owens or little Greys either, but there is an Arizona, of sorts. Kelly Wright is a second year resident in Ob-Gyn at Brigham and Women's, and an out lesbian.
The ABC episode guide says about Wright:
Working in women's health, she says, people assume she is pro-choice and liberal. In fact, she is a devout Christian who won't perform abortions, unlike most of her fellow residents. Her personal views don't seem to get in the way of her work, but her work definitely gets in the way of her life.
