- Lawrence Wright was born on February 15, 1888 in Leicester, Leicestershire, England, UK. He was a writer and composer, known for The End of the Affair (1999), If It's Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium (1969) and Happy Days Revue (1936). He died on May 19, 1964 in London, England, UK.
- Prolific British songwriter and music publisher. He opened a market stall in Leicester selling sheet music in 1906, then in 1911 became the first music publisher to open an office in London's Denmark Street ("Tin Pan Alley"). As well as songs, he published "The Wright Pianoforte Tutor" which sold a quarter of a million copies.
