Maybe the culture of Hollywood is changing.
Over the past decade, we’ve seen a great uncovering of bad behavior such as sexual harassment and abusive conduct. Now, as a new generation — more diverse, more female and more multicultural — assume positions of leadership, the question becomes: Will it be possible to enact positive change? Here, three new leaders from this year’s class weigh in.
Jeanell English, exec VP of impact and inclusion at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, believes that supporting the new guard of entertainment industry leaders is not only key in terms of promoting careers, but also in creating compassion, closeness and connection within communities.
“I have a feeling that so many of us that are being recognized as new leaders have been leaders in some capacity our whole lives,” says English. “That leadership has taken us to different communities, to broaden our sense of community,...

The rights to a graphic novel called Savage have been acquired by Outlier and Pathbender production companies.. It's a supernatural thriller which features Bigfoot facing off with a pack of rabid werewolves!
The comic was created by Jeff Frank who co-wrote it with Dan Wickline and Steve Niles (30 Days of Night). It was illustrated by award-winning X-Men artist Mike Mayhew.
The movie will be directed by James Cotten (La linea). The story follows "a mysterious killer who is hunting down supernatural creatures. While looking for a prodigy to continue his work, he finds himself in the midst of a battle between the legendary Bigfoot and a pack of werewolves."
Sounds like it could either be a really fun movie or a ridiculously bad one. What kind of film do you think it will be?...

*full disclosure: a screener of this film was provided by Mti Home Video.
**here be some spoilers.
Director: Matt Zettell.
Writers: James Cotten and Matt Yeager.
It is always a good thing when a horror movie is disturbing. Resurrection County is just such a film. To be released on DVD March 20th through Mti Home Video, this film will change that nice comfortable feeling you have starting the film into something a little more dangerous and thrilling. Two couples are reduced to one as four friends start a nightmarish camping trip in hillbilly country. The result is a lot of cat and mouse scenes, some very unsettling incidents and a slightly sour final scene.
Sam (Dayton Knoll) is the lead in the film, but that position changes quickly. After Sam and Tommy (Adam Huss) unearth a meth' lab, two rednecks turn a bad situation into something worse with antagonistic words and gunfire.

Nick Principie is a professional madman, owning the character of “ChromeSkull” in the Laid To Rest films, as “Sledgesaw” in Vs, and now as “Damien” in Madison County, hitting video on May 8th. Principe’s 6’7″ frame made “ChromeSkull” one of modern horror’s most memorable villains, and he is hoping to work that same magic here, trading technology for backwoods mayhem and a severed hog head.
Madison County is the rookie effort from director and writer Eric England, and also stars Ace Marrero, Colley Bailey, James Cotten, Katie Stegman, Matt Mercer, Dayton Knoll, and Joanna Sotomura.
Synopsis:
“A group of college kids travel to a small, mountain town called Madison County to interview the author of a tell-all book on the accounts of several grisly murders that happened there. But when the kids get to Madison County, the author is no where to be found and the towns people act...

Resurrection County is a film that was shot in Arkansas and recently the film was shown at the '09 Afm. Director Matt Zettell's lush cinematography is broken up by bloodthirsty locals who hope to make four campers' holiday a nightmare. Very gutsy and brutally violent Resurrection County now has a homepage, trailer, and synopsis for readers to enjoy. Have a look at prepare yourself for a future release date.
A synopsis for Resurrection County here:
"A warning to outsiders! When traveling through Resurrection County, mind the signs, one false move out there could be your last. When four suburbanite campers roll into the remote town of Enoch, they find that southern hospitality still exists. But things are not what they appear to be, as a weekend camping trip turns deadly. The locals are all too happy to serve up their own brand of an eye for an eye justice.
