Amazon Studios has announced that it will co-produce BBC psychological thriller Chloe, and the six-part series has set a cast that includes The Crown star Erin Doherty.
Produced by Mam Tor Productions, run by former Cuba Pictures cofounder Tally Garner, Chloe was originally announced by the BBC in February 2020 and is created and written by Sex Education director Alice Seabright.
It centers on the character of Becky, who becomes obsessed with the death of her estranged friend Chloe. Becky assumes a new identity to infiltrate the enviable lives of Chloe’s closest friends as she attempts to establish what happened.
Through her alter-ego Sasha, Becky becomes a powerful, transgressive heroine; a popular, well-connected “someone” with a life, and loves, that are far more exciting and addictive than the “no one” she is as Becky. However, the pretense soon obscures and conflates reality, and Becky risks losing herself completely.

Last week we told you that The CW network had teamed with producers Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci and writer Joe Hill for "Tales From the Darkside," a reinvention of the 1980s horror/fantasy/thriller anthology series by George A. Romero. Today we have more.
In an interview with MTV, writer Joe Hill revealed that the show is just called "Darkside," and it really is a reinvention, not a reboot. "My feeling is, in the wake of shows like 'The X-Files' and 'Fringe,' the days when you could do a straightforward horror anthology are over," says Hill, who describes the new show as a "descendant, not a reanimation," adding that while he is writing the pilot, if the show does get picked up, he'll be more of a "curator" than a lead writer due to commitments writing novels.
"Darkside" will still draw on short stories for some of its structure and plots.

As the new film of Sound and Fury's Kursk reveals, capturing live theatre on video is tough – even more so when it's immersive, interactive or promenade
Theatre on film? Better than nothing, is my take. If you can't see a show in person, watching a recording of a production is a pretty decent second-best. It will, inevitably, lack all the trappings of the live event – both temporal and spatial – but at least you get a sense of the performance as it might have been. In fact, thanks to multiple cameras and zoom lenses, filming technique can allow an audience a better sense of what happens onstage, even if it can't capture the full experience.
But what about those forms of theatre where the liveness isn't simply brilliant to have, but entirely integral? Sure, a camera and microphone can stand in for our eyes and ears – but how do you...
