As a teenager Wick hung out - and sometimes played drums - with Mark Arm, who later formed the band Mudhoney, part of Seattle's "Grunge" movement in the '90s. Wick was an early member of a band called "Mr. Epp and The Calculations." When Epp broke up. Arm and Epp guitarist Steve Turner formed "Green River," with Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament - later of Pearl Jam. Two tracks Wick drummed on later turned up on the CD "Mr. Epp - Ridiculing the Apocalypse," released by Turner's own label in the mid '90s.
