Production on the film, from Black Bear and also starring Joel Edgerton and Felicity Jones, began earlier this month in Spokane, Wash.

She traveled to the most dangerous places on Earth to risk her life for the truth. “Once you go crazy,” the grizzled war correspondent tells her exasperated new photographer, “it’s not something you get used to.”
Here’s the new trailer for A Private War, starring Rosamund Pike as fearless, eyepatch-sporting reporter Marie Colvin and Jamie Dornan as her photog, Paul Conroy. In a world where journalism is under attack, Colvin is one of the most celebrated war correspondents of our time. She’s driven to the frontlines of conflicts across the globe to give voice to the voiceless, while constantly testing the limits between bravery and bravado.
After decades working for The Sunday Times, she’s as comfortable sipping martinis with London’s elite as she is confronting dictators. Colvin sacrifices loving relationships, and over time, her personal life starts to unravel as the trauma she’s witnessed takes its toll.

That work follows him through years and years of pain, up to and including an eventual redemption.

Tartt’s epic kicks off with a terrorist attack (upon New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art) that spares 13-year-old Theodore Decker and takes his mother, with whom he stays connected through Carel Fabritius’ eponymous painting — an item he stole from the attack’s site. That work follows him through years and years of pain, up to and including an eventual redemption.

Samurai film fans, prepare to be... dubious. Hollywood is setting up a new adaptation of the classic '70s Japanese manga series Lone Wolf and Cub, created by Kazuo Koike. The story revolves around a disgraced warrior who is falsely accused of a crime and exiled, forced to wander Japan with his three-year-old son as an assassin for hire. A total of seven (well, technically, six) films based on the manga were produced between 1972 and 1980 starring Tomisaburo Wakayama in the lead role. Now Kamala Films is setting up a remake with the writer of Blade Runner and the director of Fast & Furious. Will this prove to be a match made in heaven? According to Deadline, Kamala Films will be teaming up with 1212 Entertainment to produce the new film. Kamala has just one film under their belt thus far, the Willem Dafoe psychological thriller Anamorph, while 1212 Entertainment is currently working on the Space Invaders movie.

The project is being funded by Red Crown Productions, whose Daniel Crown and Daniela Taplin Lundberg are producing with Marissa McMahon’s Kamala Films. Nyswaner, best known for scripting Philadelphia and The Painted Veil, will adapt a novel that follows the First Lady as she reviews her life on a day in which a scandalous secret threatens her husband’s presidency, and their marriage. When the book was published in 2009, speculation was the characters were modeled after President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura: the husband grew up in a privileged background, was a hard-drinking sports team owner who became a Born Again Christian, moved from governor to the White House and backed an unpopular war. Taplin Lundberg said the book had the ingredients to be a modern day The Way We Were.

It looks like "Limitless" director Neil Burger currently has a lot on his plate. On top of recently taking over the video game adaptation of "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" for Columbia, Deadline is reporting that the director will be teaming up with screenwriter Sheldon Turner in an attempt to bring the infamous outlaws Bonnie and Clyde back to life.
This new film will be based on the biography by author Jeff Guinn entitled "Go Down Together: The True, Untold Story of Bonnie and Clyde", which provides a less romanticized view of the couple than the 1967 Arthur Penn film.

Neil Burger ("Limitless") is in talks to direct a new take on classic Depression Era outlaws Bonnie and Clyde for Kamala Films reports Deadline.
The film will be based on Jeff Guinn's 2010 book "Go Down Together" which gives us a less romanticized version of the duo than seen in the classic 1967 film with Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway.
Such potential details include Bonnie Parker's life as a prostitute before meeting Clyde, and Clyde's first victim - a cell mate who had raped him repeatedly.
Sheldon Turner is penning the script while Sean and Bryan Furst and Marissa McMahon will produce. Burger is not yet set and is scheduled to shoot the "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" adaptation as his next project.

Previous books and films, including the 1967 movie starring Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway, have pointed out the presumed glamour of America’s most notorious criminal duo. The new old story of the lovebird outlaws, the Depression-era lovers Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow who thrived in the 1930s will be worked up for a big-screen as the real tale of two kids from a filthy Dallas slum.
The source material for a script is 2009 book Go Down Together: The True, Untold Story of Bonnie and Clyde by Jeff Guinn. Limitless director Neil Burger is in talks to helm the project. Oscar-nominated penner Sheldon Turner (Up in the Air) will be writing the adaptation.
Sean and Bryan Furst and Marissa McMahon will bring another version of Bonnie and Clyde to the silver screen that promises to be shocking in its own way.
According to the book, Clyde was sexually abused in prison and Bonnie was a prostitute.

Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were forever immortalized in Arthur Penn‘s classic 1967 film starring Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty, and any subsequent portrayal of them has to live in that film’s shadow. This is a challenge that Limitless and future Uncharted director Neil Burger might take, because Variety tells us that he’s in talks to direct a film about the murdering bank robbers.

“Limitless” director Neil Burger is currently in talks to direct another Hollywood version of notorious Depression era outlaws Bonnie and Clyde for producers Sean and Bryan Furst and Marissa McMahon. Burger hasn’t committed yet, and he’s already on the hook to direct “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune” for Sony Pictures, so even if he ends up signing on the dotted line, it’ll be a while yet before he can get to work on this. The latest version of the Tommy Gun-wielding outlaws, which will be based on the novel “Go Down Together: The True, Untold Story of Bonnie and Clyde” by Jeff Guinn, will take a more authentic/true approach, with the outlaws presented as the 22-year olds they were in real life (19 when they first met) instead of, well, Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway, who were, ahem, nowhere near close to being 22 when they played the roles in Arthur Penn’s 1967 movie.

NEW YORK -- IFC Films has acquired North American rights to the serial killer thriller Anamorph, starring Willem Dafoe and Scott Speedman, and the heist drama How to Rob a Bank, starring Nick Stahl and Erika Christensen.
Anamorph stars Dafoe and Speedman as detectives tracking a killer who re-creates the perspective-distorting painting technique "anamorphosis" in a bizarre series of murders. Peter Stormare and Clea DuVall also star. Marissa McMahon's Kamala Films produced.
In Andrews Jenkins' Bank, a bored teller (Christensen) and her slacker customer (Stahl) get caught in the middle of a bank heist and are forced to arbitrate between crooks and cops. David Carradine, Leo Fitzpatrick and former Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale round out the cast of the Rick Lashbrook Films feature.
IFC's theatrical/VOD day-and-date First Take program will handle both releases. Bank hits theaters next month, and Anamorph will be released in November.
