Cm Punk is back! #wwelasvegas pic.twitter.com/WoqxgwSu1s
— Owns (@Memo__HD) June 21, 2015
Brad Maddox dressed up like Cm Punk, cut a pipebomb, and mimickimed his mannerisms and move set at WWE’s live event in Las Vegas on Saturday.
Maddox lost to Jack Swagger – who used his Patriot Lock for the win by submission – but it was the obvious parodying of the controversial former WWE champion that was the big talking point.
A fan named Scott Fisher who was in attendance explained it to Lordsofpain: “When Maddox first came out to cut a promo some people thought he was Cm Punk just by how he looked. I think a big group of teenagers tried to get the Punk chant going but it was short lived if that. Maddox did cut a ‘pipebomb’ promo but it fell flat and everyone just wanted him out of the ring.”

So... on 5/18/12 I finally had the opportunity to see my film “The Next Day” with an audience thanks to Mike D. and Reelblack.com. I was in and out during the screening so I didn’t have the opportunity to see the total reaction, but folks seemed to laugh where they were supposed to and no one walked out, which is always a good sign. After the film was over, the lights came up and Mike D. introduced me. We sat down for the Q and A. The second question was more of a comment. A woman stood up and said: “I have to be honest. I didn’t get the point of the film. I don’t know why you made it. Nothing made sense to me. Everything you said in your intro?...

Since the most recent character posters for X-Men: First Class were so abominably bad, we decided to sponsor a little contest to see which of our design-minded readers could do better. The bar was low, but everyone went far above and beyond the call of duty, and the result was a squad of really great posters. Some went with Saul Bass inspiration, others played off the comic books, one found inspiration in The Social Network, one changed the director (see above), and still others chose to go their own way entirely. Sadly, no one chose to improve on the floating head in crotch concept. That’ll be a new contest entirely, but without further ado, here’s the winner (who will receive a 1999 lithograph recreation of the first “X-Men” cover done by comic artist/legend Alex Ross) and a gallery of some especially great runners up: Our winner, Jeffrey Zhang, submitted...

We break down the season 10 hopefuls, in 140 characters or less.

Contestants perform on "American Idol" on Wednesday
Photo: Fox
On Thursday night, "American Idol" revealed the remainder of the season 10 Top 24, a collection of singer/songwriters, balladeers, scatters, divas, perky teens and belters that will compete to become the heir to Lee DeWyze's throne (perhaps he's not the best example, but let's move on).
Unlike previous seasons, this year's crop of contenders is long on talent, short on sob stories — Chris Medina's exit made sure of that. And while it's probably too early to say this, we could be looking at the most-gifted field of singers in "Idol" history (or at least since the epochal third season). So it would probably benefit you to get to know the field before the cruel cut-downs begin.
And since we know you're busy, we've decided to condense each contestant into a quick,...

Dye your hair with Kool-Aid and start joking about cutting, because 30-second snippets of Allison Iraheta's major label debut Just Like You have hit the web. Everybody knows I was less-than-thrilled with the super-poppy, heavily-processed vocals of Iraheta's Max Martin-produced single "Friday I'll Be Over U." But will the rest of her album make me happy? Let's go through these too-short snippets and see.
» "Friday I'll Be Over U"
This.
» "Robot Love"
In this pulsating electro-pop ditty (which samples Gary Glitter's "Rock and Roll Part II"), Iraheta is pissed that her boyfriend is in love with a robot. Whether said robot is an actual lady cyborg or just an iPhone is to be determined. Also Tbd? Whether this song will have a discernible melody. We're on track two and I'm already thinking "filler?" Ruh-roh.
» "Just Like You"
Good news: I'm finally hearing Allison's voice without a bunch of studio trickery around it.
