Celeste Wylie is a South African-Canadian actress. She was born in Sandton, a city in the greater Johannesburg area, in South Africa, and is the middle of three children. Wylie is of English and Afrikaner (Italian, Dutch, Mauritian and Scottish) descent.
There was not much work at the time for a young actress in South Africa, so she moved to Dubai, so she could travel around Europe, until she moved to Canada and continued to pursue her career in acting.
Wylie began screenwriting in late 2021 and in the beginning of 2022, she was awarded three grants in Alberta to produce her script, New Nina, a comedy-drama set in the 60s.
In 2023, Wylie won 'Best Short Form Performance' at the Calgary Stinger Awards, and also received a nomination for 'Best Female Performance' at the 50th Annual Rosie Awards; both for her performance in New Nina which she had also produced and directed.
