Hann McEwen has been immersed in the world of media production. Whether she created media projects for class or for fun, it quickly became a passion. McEwen went on to participate in multiple organizations within the Chicago Youth Voices Network including Free Spirit Media, True Star, and NUF-Said. The work she produced while at Free Spirit was shown at multiple film festivals and shown on public access channel CAN TV. With the work she produced, she was accepted into the Northwestern Medill Cherubs program for Journalism and attended the program in the summer of 2015. McEwen was also accepted into Gallery 37's Advanced Arts Program for Video Production for her senior year of high school. At Gallery 37, she realized she wanted to become a filmmaker and decided to pursue it. She went on to attend Temple University in Philadelphia, obtaining her BFA in Film and Media Arts with a Concentration in Screenwriting. There she discovered her passion for working with students and helping them create youth powered media. Now, Hann McEwen is working as the new coordinator for the longest running youth-produced show in Chicago, Hardcover.
