His character, Sam Sutton, will first be seen in the episode airing Thursday, May 4. The character is badly hurt after a base-jumping accident, but, per ABC, “somehow maintains his sense of humor and charm.”
Page’s previous TV credits include “Mad Men,” “Gossip Girl,” and “Desperate Housewives,” and “House of Cards.”

Journalist Alissa Quart’s new book, “Bootstrapped: Liberating Ourselves From the American Dream,” seeks to discover the origins of two important American myths: that of the self-made man and that of the “the undeserving poor.” What is behind our country’s relentless demand for lonesome achievement and personal responsibility? Quart calls “bootstrapping” — derived from the phrase “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” — a collective delusion, a fantasy of American prowess that we must somehow be entirely self-sufficient to succeed, and that, if we manage this, riches await. It’s the...

In the early 1980s, Israeli cousins and co-producers Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus – the men behind then-thriving outfit The Cannon Group – decided that they would like to add an old-fashioned style horror film to their burgeoning library of titles. They approached director Peter Walker, renowned for a slew of successful exploitation pictures throughout the 1970s, suggesting he create something for the likes of Bela Lugosi, Peter Lorre and Boris Karloff, blissfully unaware the three actors were dead. Regardless, Walker took the baton and ran with it, the result being 1983’s rather splendid House of the Long Shadows.
Probably best remembered for assembling icons of horror cinema Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Vincent Price and John Carradine under one roof, House of the Long Shadows didn’t wow critics at the time and with hindsight it’s easy to see why. Times...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched the series finale of “The Bold Type,” which aired June 30 on Freeform.
Endings are hard. The penultimate season of “The Bold Type” — cut short by the pandemic — left Sutton Brady (Meghann Fahy) and Richard Hunter (Sam Page) in a difficult spot, disagreeing fundamentally on whether each wanted children following Sutton’s miscarriage. The final season appeared to be continuing down that path, with divorce on the table. But in the end, the fans got what they wanted.
“Yes, I always wanted kids,” Richard tells Sutton. “But I want you more.”
That conclusion almost didn’t happen, though.
“What ended up happening with Sutton’s storyline at the end — they rewrote it the night before we shot it,” Fahy told Variety in a Zoom interview alongside co-stars Katie Stevens and Aisha Dee, who play Jane Sloan and Kat Edison, respectively.

House of the Long Shadows (1983)
Directed by Pete Walker
Written by Michael Armstrong, Earl Derr Biggers (novel), George M. Cohan (play)
Cast: Desi Arnaz Jr. (Kenneth Magee), Vincent Price (Lionel Grisbane), Peter Cushing (Sebastian Grisbane), John Carradine (Lord Elijah Grisbane), Christopher Lee (Corrigan), Sheila Keith (Victoria Grisbane), Julie Peasgood (Mary Norton), Richard Todd (Sam Allyson), Louise English (Diane Caulder), Richard Hunter (Andrew Caulder)
I like to think of “House of the Long Shadows” as kind of the super group of horror films. What I mean is that typically that term is reserved for the music field for example, Damn Yankees, Asia, Velvet Revolver, Audioslave. Hopefully, you get the point. It’s professionals who have already made their own fame and fortune alone or with another group, but band together for a second helping of notoriety. I don’t know if anyone in this film...

Dallas Mayor Pro Tem, Dwaine Caraway, awarded Michael Vick a key to the city on Saturday (Feb. 6).
Come again? Not only is Vick the Qb for Dallas Cowboys' rival, the Philadelphia Eagles, but he also served 19 months in prison following a dog-fighting ring scandal. Oh, and he's not even from Texas, either.
During a Saturday appearance in which Vick spoke with children about the importance of keeping on the straight-and-narrow, Caraway jumped at the opportunity to honor the athlete, handing over a key to the city of Dallas.
Caraway has been receiving flack from animal rights activists, the general public, and even mayor Tom Leppert -- who quickly released a statement saying, "The action taken was not sanctioned by my office and was not an official ceremonial honor on behalf of the city of Dallas."
The Mayor Pro Tem is defending his action to Espn.
