He was the announcer for "Live from Lincoln Center" from the very first
broadcast, in 1976, until the May 25, 2006 retrospective "30 Years of
Lincoln Center", after which he retired. The new announcer for the
program is Fred Child, one of the hosts of National Public Radio's
"Performance Today".
