Inside “The Weeknd: After Hours Nightmare” house at Halloween Horror Nights in Los Angeles is one of the “most outrageous” scenes the Universal Studios Hollywood event has done.
That’s according to John Murdy, creative director for Hhn in Hollywood, who teamed with Abel Tesfaye (known professionally as The Weeknd) to create a real-life nightmare based on the singer’s 2020 album for the 2022 event.
“We take it to the next level,” Murdy tells The Hollywood Reporter of the experience, which runs as part of the larger event through Oct. 31. “It’s probably one of the most surreal experiences we’ve created.”
In a statement given ahead of Hhn’s early September kickoff, The Weeknd shared that this project was one of his professional dreams. “I always wanted my own Halloween Horror Nights haunted house as Halloween has always been significant to my music,...

If you’re headed to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando, you’re going to love the latest attraction announcement. It has been officially revealed that John Landis has partnered up with the Hhn team for a haunted house based on An American Werewolf in London:
via /Film: “Orlando, Fl (August 16, 2013) – You can feel someone…or something…following you. But it’s already too late. The hair rising on the back of your neck is the last thing you feel before you’re ripped limb from limb by the blood-thirsty beast…
This fall, the terrifying classic “An American Werewolf in London” will be reincarnated as it becomes an all-new haunted house at Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights 23. Universal Orlando’s Entertainment team is partnering with the film’s critically-acclaimed writer and director John Landis to create a disturbingly-real haunted house experience that pays homage to one of the greatest lycanthropic stories ever told.

Between its "The Walking Dead," "Cabin in the Woods" and "Evil Dead" mazes, Universal Orlando's annual Halloween Horror Nights event is going to be a pretty terrifying experience. It's about to get even scarier too, as the theme park is adding "An American Werewolf in London" maze to this year's festivities as well.
Zap2it spoke to Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights Creative Director Mike Aiello and "An American Werewolf in London" director John Landis about what fans can expect. Landis, who is collaborating extensively on the creation of the maze, says that the Universal team is using the exact same technology now as his team did in 1981 for the film.
So what does that mean for Horror Nights guests? They can expect to have full werewolf puppets jumping out at them as they walk through the maze, walk through The Slaughtered Lamb and even witness David's transformation for themselves.

Later this month on August 24th, the Orange County Regional History Center will be holding a special day of presentations related to Orlando’s famed Halloween Horror Nights – including both a special effects demonstration and a speakers event with the artists and authors behind Universal Orlando Resort’s Halloween Horror Nights.
From 11Am to 1Pm, attendees will be able to meet Michael Burnett, a special effects artist whose work has been seen in such films and tv shows as Aliens, Darkman, Little Monsters, Universal Soldier, Star Trek: Voyager and many more. The special presentation will give fans and chance to learn about the secrets and techniques behind practical effects during Burnett’s special Prosthetics Demonstration as part of the Year in the Life: Backstage to Onstage at Universal Orlando Resort exhibition.
How do those masks at Halloween Horror Nights become so scary? What makes a character’s face and body transform into something else completely?...

Orlando, Florida -- This is the year to be at Universal Orlando. The Florida theme park is honoring Universal Studios' 100th anniversary by rolling out their biggest year of new attractions and events, and yesterday they debuted their new nighttime show and parade at a special premiere gathering.
MTV News was on hand at the event, and caught up with some of the main people behind making the new shows happen. Mike Aiello was the director behind Universal's new nighttime presentation, Universal's Cinematic Spectacular: 100 Years of Movie Memories. The 18-minute-long show takes place on the Universal Studios park's lagoon and uses cutting-edge fountain and Syncrolite technologies to project 200 movies from Universal's 100 years onto water screens located in the middle of the lagoon.
"It was really all about trying to capture what you feel when you're sitting in a theater watching a movie. How you would get immersed in that film.
