A priest-in-training and two skeptics walk into a bar. The wannabe priest says, “Wanna join my mission?” The two skeptics say, “Sure, why not?” as shadowy figures zoom into focus in the background. A solid joke? No. The premise of the crime procedural Evil? Yes, yes it is.
From The Good Wife and The Good Fight creators Michelle and Robert King, Evil follows a priest-in-training, a forensic psychologist, and contractor who investigate unexplained phenomena for the Catholic Church.

A skeptical forensic psychologist and mother of four, Kristen Bouchard (Herbers) is seemingly always downtown at the courthouse serving as an expert witness. That is, until she’s hired by priest-in-training David Acosta (Colter) to become an assessor for the Catholic Church. An assessor, you say? As assessor of what? Days of Our Lives (Dool) spoilers for May 2024 sweeps are here! Expect drama with Jude Brady even though Sloan Petersen-Brady (Jessica Serfaty) keeps Ej Dimera (Dan Feuerriegel) quiet – for now.
Plus, Konstantin Meleounis (John Kapelos) is due to be exposed. Meanwhile, Johnny Dimera (Carson Boatman) and Chanel Dimera (Raven Bowens) have to make a difficult decision about their unplanned, high-risk pregnancy.
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Jude Brady’s Parentage Drama
Dool spoilers for May sweeps reveal that Ej just learned the truth about Jude Brady. Ej angrily confronted Sloan after Leo Stark’s (Greg Rikaart) bombshell. Sloan will likely encourage Ej’s silence by using the “Ericole” factor.
Sloan knows that Ej has always been jealous of Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole Walker-dimera’s (Arianne Zucker) bond. Even though Ej would love to be Nicole’s hero by reuniting her with Jude, Sloan likely has another idea.

Mike Myers is set to play Austin Powers again, as Austin Powers 4 finally looks set to head towards the screen. More here.
Every since he walked off the screen as Austin Powers for the last time in 2002’s Austin Powers In Goldmember, Mike Myers has been fielding questions about a possible Austin Powers 4. Myers has taken on very, very few big screen roles in the last 20 years, but occasional rumblings have popped up about a new Austin Power adventure. Turns out, it might actually be happening.
Over at World Of Reel, it’s reporting that Austin Powers 4 has been developed in secret for at least the last year. The first three films were released by New Line Cinema, which has been entirely swallowed up by Warner Bros now. Warner Bros will this be backing the new film.
Jay Roach, the director of the original trilogy, is said to be back on board.

On a bright summer day in a tent on top of the sultry clay courts that give the Tennis Club Venezia its name, writer-director Ryûsuke Hamaguchi––known for his searing stories of love and longing and a taut, cryptic cinematic style all his own––saunters in tired but ready to talk, bags heavy under his eyes, tennis balls whopping back and forth in the distance. It’s 2023 and we’re on the Lido at the 80th Venice Film Festival. Hamaguchi’s latest feature Evil Does Not Exist has just debuted in competition to uncharacteristically rapturous applause.
The prolific, self-made Japanese auteur burst onto the scene at Locarno in 2015 with the success of the five-plus-hour Happy Hour. But despite the newfound popularity, Hamaguchi was a veteran. He’d already written and directed ten features and eight shorts, often teaming up with universities and research organizations that funded his crisp, sharp, sensitive...

In Jay Roach's 1997 James Bond spoof "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery," the film's villain, Dr. Evil (Mike Myers), aims to murder off his arch-nemesis by dropping him into a tank full of man-eating sharks. In a supervillainous twist, the sharks will be equipped with laser beams affixed to their heads. Dr. Evil says he likes his pets to have a well-cooked meal before eating. He then cackles maniacally. A lieutenant of his, however, informs Dr. Evil that buying sharks equipped with lasers is immensely difficult and that the tank is, instead, filled with flesh-eating sea bass. Dr. Evil isn't thrilled. "You know, I have one simple request," Dr. Evil says, "and that is to have sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads!"
One cannot say if there's a direct connection to the above scene and a James Bond movie that Sean Connery once wrote, but there are a few uncanny similarities.

Last month, it was announced that Melissa Moore’s autobiography Shattered Silence, which previously inspired the podcast Happy Face, is getting a Paramount+ streaming series adaptation that’s also titled Happy Face. Annaleigh Ashford – whose credits include B Positive, American Crime Story, and Masters of Sex – had already signed on to star in the series at that time, and now The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Dennis Quaid, whose long lists of credits includes the likes of The Day After Tomorrow, Innerspace, Frequency, and Jaws 3D, will be playing a serial killer on the show.
Happy Face will see Ashford taking on the role of Melissa, who at age 15, discovered that her beloved father was the prolific serial killer known as “Happy Face.” As an adult, she has changed her name and guarded her secret while her father has been serving life in prison. We may not be ready to say goodbye to Dr. Kristen Bouchard (Katja Herbers) and her friends, but we don’t have a choice.
Paramount+ has confirmed the upcoming fourth season of Evil will be its last.
The only good news from the announcement is that four additional episodes have been ordered to help bring the series to a close.
Many shows don’t get endings, but Evil has been one of those shows that beat the odds.
The procedural premiered on CBS in September 2019 and scored a renewal quickly despite soft on-air viewership.
Because the show had such a robust digital footprint, it was moved to Paramount+ beginning with its second season, where it will remain through its fourth and final season.

Dr. Evil once said, “There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum. It’s breathtaking. I suggest you try it.” Perhaps Jeremy Allen White could have used the Austin Powers villain as a co-star while filming A24‘s The Iron Claw, as it might have made him feel better about an extreme body hair-shaving session he participated in for the highly-anticipated sports drama. Speaking with Variety about the upcoming film, White recalled shaving every inch of his body alongside co-stars Zac Efron and Harris Dickinson. “Our bodies had to be completely shaved,” White said. “We were strangers at the time. Now I know them and love them, but at the time, it was like, ‘Hi, nice to meet you and yes, they’re shaving off all of our body hair.'”

Video game adaptations are all the rage. Ever since "Castlevania" became a hit on Netflix, we've seen adaptations big and small achieve huge popularity and success. On television, there's "Arcane," and this year's "The Last of Us" shows that you actually can be faithful to the medium of video games while also adapting these stories for the screen. There is no stopping this train.
One of the most anticipated and exciting adaptations in the works now is the upcoming "Fallout" TV show, adapted from the popular video game franchise of the same name. "Fallout" is set in an atompunk retrofuturistic post-apocalypse, with the games being renowned for their world-building and visual storytelling.
Where "The Last of Us" and other post-apocalyptic stories focus on the pain and misery that follows the end of civilization, "Fallout" has always been more than a bit tongue in cheek, with plenty of satire and sarcasm in the nuclear wasteland.

For this month’s installment of “TV Terrors” we revisit the animated series “The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy,” which aired from 2001 through 2007 on Cartoon Network.
Billy, Mandy, and Grim were first introduced in Maxwell Atoms’ “Grim & Evil,” a series where they shared the bill with “Evil Con Carne.” The latter followed the adventures of Hector Con Carne, a wealthy playboy whose body is destroyed in a tremendous explosion. His only surviving organs are his brain and stomach, which have been placed in jars and attached to a circus bear named Boskov. He’s aided by the evil henchman Skarr.
“Grim & Evil” only lasted 30 episodes, but the titular pint-sized hell-raisers went on to star in their own successful spin-off: “The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy.” The series stars a (somewhat) moronic young boy named Billy (Peter Horvitz) and his devious megalomaniacal friend Mandy (the legendary Grey Delisle...

By golden template standards for reanimating beloved horror franchises, it remains a remarkable exemplification alongside titans like Maniac or The Blob. As an underworldly standalone feature, it’s one of the fiercest, scare-you-senseless releases since its April 2013 premiere. I still remember every howl, sunken gasp, and pure release of elation during my midnight showtime—”That’S How You Execute A Remake,” dominating lobby chatter and ride home discussions. From there, reactionary adventures into do-over culture solidified as the investigative analysis you’ve been reading on Bloody Disgusting month after month.
