When Ivar’s tag team partner in the Viking Raiders went down with an injury, he could have easily faded away into obscurity. Instead, the beefy big man has turned heads with some strong matches on not only WWE Raw but on Nxt as well. An argument can be made that the 40-year-old is among the most underrated talents on the roster today. Win or lose, Ivar has been able to make every battle memorable against everyone from Sheamus to Ricochet to emerging talent like Oba Femi. We caught up with the multi-faceted athlete to talk about returning to his roots in the ring. How was it making the transition to the singles ranks? Ivar: At first, it happened organically. Erik got pulled from the competition on Monday Night Raw. We had 2 out of 3 falls scheduled with New Day. He got pulled, and it ended up being a singles match between me and Kofi Kingston.

In the final moments, a battle on the top rope led to a wicked kick from Nakamura that sent Ricochet crashing through a table at ringside. Match #1: Viking Rules Match – Ivar def. Kofi Kingston The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The New Day’s Kofi Kingston did his best to bring his Power of Positivity to combat all the carnage and mayhem of a Viking Rules Match, but the Viking Rules specialist Ivar came out on top. With Viking shields, flags, tables and more used in the melee, Kingston launched the Viking Raider through the table after he grabbed his beard. With the match breaking down, Valhalla leaped onto Kingston until Xavier Woods came down to make the save. Despite this, Woods got squished by an Ivar splash onto the barricade. Back in the ring, Ivar intercepted a Trouble in Paradise to send Kingston crashing through the table.

Welcome to this review of WWE’s 2023 edition of Summerslam, which comes from Detroit and, going into the show, the only thing I knew about proceedings was that WWE bosses had pulled at least one women’s match from the card, leaving Becky Lynch at home making lemonade with her lemons – as she clearly stated on her social media! Social media star brothers Jake and Logan Paul both have big appearances Saturday, in real and choreographed events.
Logan’s been a regular in recent months for WWE, becoming a sensation in the pro wrestling world for both his athleticism and his persona. Now he’s appearing at WWE’s SummerSlam show against fellow sports entertainer Ricochet.
That match is expected to go on first, as Logan Paul said on his “Impaulsive” podcast that he’s requested to open the show. That’s so that he can catch a flight from SummerSlam at Detroit’s Ford Field to see his brother Jake Paul boxing in Dallas.
It’s going to be a tight turnaround — Logan said on his podcast that he’ll be going straight there, in his wrestling gear, on a private jet for a two-and-a-half hour flight. He noted on the podcast that he gets an hour back crossing time zones,...

It was the youngster who defeated his childhood idol to kick off WrestleMania 39. Cena toyed with Theory to start, but it only enraged the champion who responded by biting the 16-time World Champion’s ear. After an impressive few minutes from Theory, Cena locked in an Stf submission, but Theory again used his teeth to break the hold. Theory countered the AA and nailed a Ddt, later locking in a sleeper hold, but Cena fought out. After a few shoulder tackles, Cena hit his signature Five Knuckle Shuffle, but...

Welcome to this review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly… We’re apparently on the road to Wrestlemania so let’s get into it!
Match #1: Austin Theory def. Montez Ford The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Montez Ford was out for payback after Austin Theory’s unflinching beatdown of Angelo Dawkins last week. The Street Profits Superstar got cooking with a flawless “You Can’t See Me” impression of John Cena and followed it up with a crushing moonsault, perhaps trying to provide the United States Champion with a WrestleMania preview. Despite more high-flying assaults, a battered Theory battled back and sent Ford on a trip that went A Town Down.
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Omos def. Mustafa Ali The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
It didn’t take long for Omos to crush a challenge from Mustafa Ali,...

Welcome to this week’s Monday Night Raw review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Gloria Allred disappoints me when she wears any blue. Brewster McCloud was a goofy little shit that probably thinks that Mark Henry is the greatest high-flyer of all time. Well, we have a major Raw Women’s Title match between Asuka and Sasha Banks, which is in the great tradition of the famous feather-weight prize fight contested between Shooty McKnockers and Hootie McBoob. In the name of love (and pork grinds), let’s get…Raw.
Match #1: Andrade & Angel Garza def. The Viking Raiders and Ricochet & Cedric Alexander – Raw Tag Team Title Shot At SummerSlam The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
With Raw Tag Team Champions The Street Profits sitting ringside to scout the competition, three of the red brand’s toughest tag teams squared off for the right to challenge the titleholders at SummerSlam.

Welcome to this week’s Monday Night Raw review, right here in Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and, thanks to Seth Rollins, Rey Mysterio is stuck looking like The Phantom from Phantom Of The Paradise. Look at the mask…he does! There’s lots of dumb stuff from Extreme Rules I could bitch about. I’ll just toss that out in favor of saying that I hope that every-body is doing well and that things are going as best as they can for you. Okay, the booze and blow is running out, which is also a rock band, a breakfast cereal and the reason why these reviews never make any sense. Tim Burton secretly directed Mystery Men and this review starts…is Zac Efron your sister?

Welcome to this week’s Monday Night Raw review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and I like that Asmr stuff. Jellybean Green is really good, but not baseball cards. I have a sign outside my home that says “One Way”, because there’s only one way out: In A Body Bag! Phantom Of The Paradise is a cool movie and Raw starts…at 8pm on the USA Network.
Match #1: Rey Mysterio, Aleister Black & Apollo Crews def. Andrade, Angel Garza & Austin Theory The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
At the climax of an action-packed Six-Man Tag Team throwdown, Apollo Crews pinned United States Champion Andrade to pick up the win for his team.
My Opinion: 3.5 out of 5 – This gets plenty of points for being quite good from a mechanical perspective, but this was missing that little extra spark to make this into a hit. The wrestling itself is smart and thorough,...

Match #1: Andrade & Angel Garza def. Ricochet & Cedric Alexander The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The Road to WrestleMania has a few more daunting challengers, as Andrade & Angel Garza are set to take on The Street Profits for the Raw Tag Team Championships. And the pair a got off to a hot start on their path to the big dance, defeating Ricochet & Cedric Alexander in a match that cranked the intensity and speed up to 11. With The Street Profits watching from commentary, Andrade & Garza put in an impressive performance, matched by the incredible chemistry of Ricochet & Alexander.

What on Earth did Ricochet do to piss off Vince McMahon?
Last Thursday afternoon, Ricochet was beaten in about three minutes by Brock Lesnar in a WWE Championship match at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia. Twitter groaned after the loss, but quite frankly, it made a lot of sense. Ricochet is an amazing talent and he could easily be in a main-event level position on Raw, but he’s never been booked that way. Lesnar needed to look like a monster again ahead of his title defense against Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania, so plowing through Ricochet in a matter of a few minutes made all the booking sense in the world.
If Ricochet had been more protected, then it’s a different story. But Ricochet had been defined, by WWE, as a nice piece in the mid-card, but really not a threat to break through and establish himself as a main-eventer.

Match #1: The Street Profits def. Seth Rollins & Murphy (Buddy Murphy) – Raw Tag Team Championship Match The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The Street Profits have never lacked a sense of urgency, but there’s something to be said for putting it in fine print. Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins defeated Seth Rollins & Murphy to win the Raw Tag Team Titles by converting on a crucial “Now or Never” stipulation that would have barred them from future championship matches had they come up short.

Yes, that 53-year-old Bill Goldberg ...
Bray Wyatt had been one of the hottest characters in WWE. At the very least, he was one of the most interesting and over characters on WWE television.
On Thursday in Saudi Arabia at WWE Super Showdown, Wyatt lost the WWE Universal Championship in less than three minutes to Goldberg. Yes, that Goldberg. The 53-year-old, gray-bearded former world champion who was mocked as "Old-Berg" on social media by most of the snarky wrestling crowd.
Wyatt losing the title isn't so much the issue. He's an attraction, and quite frankly he's better off without the regularity that the top title on SmackDown brings. The issue is the way Wyatt lost the match, and who he lost the match to. Goldberg, who clearly can't wrestle a match of any length at this point in his career, taking down Wyatt in less than three minutes...

Match #1: Angel Garza def. Humberto Carrillo The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Humberto Carrillo will fight the good fight until the last breath leaves his body, but the last breath may well leave his body before he figures out an answer for Angel Garza. The suave former Nxt Cruiserweight Champion once again outsmarted his do-gooder cousin, pulling ahead at the tail end of a match that was both incredibly crisp and amusingly petty. The two were just as likely to superkick each other as go to the ground in a slap fight like they were play-wrestling on the couch. The...

Welcome to this week’s Monday Night Raw review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Becky Lynch defends her Women’s Title against Asuka, proving that Vince still allows wrestling on his wrestling show, when it does him a favor at least. We might see Brock Lesnar vs. Drew McIntyre at WWE Wrestlemania 36. Here's everything we know so far.
Now that Royal Rumble has whittled down the competition, the road begins to wrestling’s biggest annual event, WWE WrestleMania 36. The Granddaddy of Them All is on its way and this time there’s a big pirate theme to it because it takes place in Florida. How much of an emphasis Kairi Sane gets for having a pirate gimmick remains to be seen, but get ready to see a million hours of WWE action as we get a Hall of Fame ceremony, an Nxt TakeOver, an incredibly lengthy PPV, and the next night’s Raw.
Thank God SmackDown is on Fridays now.
When And Where Is WWE Wrestlemania 36?
The show takes place on April 5, 2020 at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. On the Saturday before, we get Nxt TakeOver: Tampa Bay.

Match #1: Becky Lynch def. Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair in a Beat the Clock Challenge The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
For all the well-documented disdain among WrestleMania’s newly-minted main-eventers — open Twitter if you dare — Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair’s shared path to their historic moment has been defined primarily by their distance between each other. With Rousey savaging challengers and security guards on Raw and Becky and Charlotte trading barbs on SmackDown Live, it’s been difficult for any competitor to establish the upper hand, so Raw’s Beat the Clock Challenge (short version: fastest victory wins) provided an opportunity for one of these women to separate from the pack.
