Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have my prostate hitched to a tractor trailer. Hey, it’s Dynamite, baby! We’ve got orange juice fighting Winnipeg, you idiot! Paul Williams used to drink and now he doesn’t, so rock n’ roll, ass-hole! Dynamite starts…Boom!…like the clap (Ow!).
Match #1: The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) def. The Dark Order (Evil Uno & Stu Grayson) The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
During their entrance, the Bucks were ambushed by the minions from The Dark Order! “It’s all about the numbers,” said Jim Ross, as the Bucks were outmanned. The Dark Order used their symbiotic offense on Nick Jackson. “Mr. Brodie’s leadership is really paying off here,” noted Jim Ross. Matt tagged in and took out both members of the opposition with a double clothesline!

WWE sacrificed 28 wrestlers and backstage talent on Wednesday all in the name of WWE’s stock.
That sounds crude, but it’s true.
WWE announced today that 28 individuals were fired. More full-time employees would be furloughed or laid off and construction on the company’s new headquarters has halted as well. The savings for WWE is about $4 million per month, they bragged in a press release.
That $4 million per month sounds like a lot … until you realize WWE has $90 million in cash on hand and has upwards of $500 million available if they maximized everything and extended all of their credit lines.
The cuts were, of course, blamed on coronavirus.
But make no mistake about it, these cuts were made for one reason and one reason only … to protect WWE’s stock price. The moves were made to protect profit margin. It affected a lot of lower-card talents, some of whom...

The full content listing for the upcoming WWE DVD and Blu-ray set on the life and death of Owen Hart has been revealed, courtesy of the Wrestling DVD Network. The list includes all chapter titles for the documentary feature on disc one, as well as all extras, including the full list of matches selected for the package.
Bret Hart recently commented on the documentary portion of the set, sounding very pessimistic about the chances that the documentary will do a good job telling the full story of his brother’s life. Bret believes that WWE is having to walk on egg shells to cater to Owen’s widow, Martha, who is not supporting the DVD release.
Bret told the Fight Network:
“I’m looking forward to it but I’m not really optimistic that it’s going to be a great job. Martha handcuffed them so much. I...

WWE officials weren’t happy with the mistakes that took place during the Divas Tag Team match on Smackdown this week, according to Wrestling Observer Radio.
It started as a Charlotte vs. Naomi match that ended by disqualification when Sasha Banks interfered. That led to a tag match with Banks and Naomi teaming up against Charlotte and Becky Lynch in a contest that went about 14 minutes including the commercial.
It was mentioned by Dave Meltzer that there were plans to make the match even longer and possibly give them another segment, which seems odd just because it was already a long match, they did two hot tag sequences and there was no need for them to go longer than that.

The finish was off because Naomi interrupted a pinfall attempt by Charlotte on Banks and then Naomi exchanged pinfalls with Charlotte even though Banks was still legal.

Update: WWE issued a statement to deny Lesnar bladed. Read more here.
The main event of WrestleMania featured something that we don’t see very often in WWE anymore: Blood. Lots of it too.
Brock Lesnar dominated much of the match and he sent Reigns off the apron all the way to the floor. Referee Mike Chioda left the ring, went to check on Reigns outside the ring and then put something in his hand.
A referee usually doesn’t go outside the ring in that situation, but it happens sometimes.
Here’s a look at what happened:
Did WWE allow Lesnar to blade during the match? It looks like they did. The Gif above doesn’t lie. Lesnar was alone in the ring and veteran official Mike Chioda clearly placed something in Roman’s head. This was in the earlier stages of the match. We’re guessing...

As suspected, Extreme Rules was greatly superior to Wrestlemania in terms of match quality, length and storytelling. How do they keep getting this show so right, and the Grandest Stage of Them All so wrong? It’s not worth dwelling over; let’s instead focus on the pay-per-view itself, namely the fact that they’ve incorporated a ridiculous sports desk for pundits (wrestlers) to offer comment on the evening. The thing is, the likes of Wade Barrett and Titus O’Neill are less inclined to provide insightful analysis than brag about their own prowess. They’re asked a question and then respond with an irrelevant rant about how they’re going to dominate. Imagine watching Jamie Redknapp boast in the Sky Sports newsroom about how he’s far better than Messi. That’s what we’re seeing here, people.

Cm Punk may be heading into Wrestlemania 29 injured if reports doing the rounds on various wrestling news sites are to be believed.
PWInsider broke the news that the referee threw up the infamous ‘X’ sign during Punk’s battle with Kane on this week’s live three hour edition of Monday Night Raw. Apparently prior to attacking Kane and nabbing Paul Bearer’s Urn, Punk spent a great deal of time on the floor in front of the announce table with referee Mike Chioda who repeatedly signalled to the back that an injury had occurred As this was off camera it is believed that something had actually happened and Punk was legitimately hurt.
The official report from PWInsider reads as follows:
“It should be mentioned that about half way through the Punk/Kane match, Chioda threw the “X” sign to the trainer while checking on Punk, as he laid in the floor.

Referees in professional wrestling can almost be as legendary as the performers themselves; Earl Hebnar, Nick Patrick, Mike Chioda and Charles Robinson are names that are very familiar with wrestling fans, and with good reason. Whether they are directly involved in some of the most controversial decisions ever found in sports entertainment (like the Montreal screwjob), or simply cannon fodder for newly-pushed badasses, referees are at the heart of the business.
And of course, you cannot ignore the role of the special guest referee, where a wrestler or celebrity usually takes up the role for specific story line reasons. With the release of the newest WWE 13 game imminent, here is my list of the 10 Special Guest Referees Who Should Be Included.
1. Mick Foley

The Big News: John Laurinaitis manipulated Triple H into asking for a vote of confidence from the roster and the COO was given a definitive thumbs down from his unimpressed staff.
Graphic for 12 man tag appeared on the screen pitting Cena, Punk, Sheamus, Mason Ryan and Air Boom against Del Rio, Christian, Ziggler, Swagger, Rhodes and Otunga.
Match: Randy Orton defeated Drew Mcintyre via pinfall
These two exhibited surprisingly good chemistry in this fun opener. After a brief lock up, Orton got on top with a clothesline, stomp, uppercut and a dropkick before sending Drew to the mat outside. He followed his opponent out and proceeded to knock him into both sides of the security wall in a good show of anger from his loss the previous night. Orton threw Drew back in the ring and pummelled him with a series of punches in the corner. The ref restrained him...
