- As a kid, Julian joined The Children's Theater of Montreal, where previous alumni include Christopher Plummer and William Shatner. His first major role on stage was as 'Doc', in 'Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs'. Julian then appeared in the original animated series, 'Madeline', as the voice of 'Pepito', which was narrated by Plummer.
- Was first discovered at Roslyn Elementary School in Montreal, by a film crew scouting young talent throughout the city for an upcoming film ('The Light Brigade', 1989).
- Attended the second longest scoreless baseball game in Major League history, at Olympic Stadium in Montreal, August 23, 1989. Final score: L.A. Dodgers 1, Montreal Expos 0 (22 innings).
- Was an original member of The Piven Theatre Workshop Subscription Company in Evanston, Illinois. There, he was mentored by Chicago theater legend, Byrne Piven, father of actor, Jeremy Piven.
- Julian was discovered in Hollywood by an agent who saw him doing stand-up comedy at 'The Comedy Store', on the Sunset Strip.
