Louis Bilodeau was born on December 9, 1924 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He was an actor and writer, known for Soirée canadienne (1960). He was married to Marie-Mae Lafrance. He died on November 26, 2006 in Sherbrooke, Québec, Canada.
He is the brother of Pascal Rollin. The Québec government named in 2008 one of the Sherbrooke region highways in his honor.
He was the first TV host at CHLT Sherbrooke in 1956. He was mainly known for his work as the genial host of Soirée canadienne (1960-1983) . Soirée was a one hour show of folkloric music taped in most small towns of the province of Québec featuring amateur musicians. It was shown on the TVA network. One of the almost 1000 episodes was done in Paris as a special in 1977.
