Birgit Syran Myaard
- Writer
Having lived over half her life on four continents, Chicago-born Birgit Syran Myaard (pronounced BEERgit saRAN MYerd) enjoys exploring diverse themes in her screenwriting, which draws on her peripatetic lifestyle as the wife of a diplomat and her desire to learn more about her own, as well as other cultures. Winner of Movieguide's $10,000 Kairos Prize for Spiritually Uplifting Screenplays for "A Woman's Hand," a female-centric, dramatic action script inspired by chapters 4 and 5 in the Book of Judges, Birgit jumped at the chance to expand on feminist themes and explore her Norwegian heritage while adapting "Ellida" from her own translation of Henrik Ibsen's stage play "The Lady from the Sea."
