The film, which is set to open in more than 15 countries including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Russia, India and United Kingdom, on October 26, follows the story of a journalist who travels to India to work on a story about Indian wedding ceremonies. Melissa Etheridge is just one of the celebrities taking part in "1 a Minute Live," an expert panel and film screening that will be broadcast nationwide one day only on Wednesday, Oct. 6 benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
"I'm really looking forward to people asking me lots of questions," Etheridge, who beat her struggle with breast cancer in 2005, tells Zap2it. "There's a lot that we don't know about cancer, but we can share what we do and it's interesting to see how other cultures approach the disease."
Etheridge will be joining the expert panel along with other celebrities whose lives have been affected by the disease, including Olivia Newton-John and William Baldwin.
Besides her struggle while going through chemotherapy and fighting the disease, the singer has come to see it as a gift and she has worked on getting herself healthy again holistically.
"Our bodies are amazing machines," she says.

According to the Hindustan Times, Indian-American Namrata Singh Gujral is currently producing, directing, and co-starring in 1 a Minute, a docu-drama on cancer, while she undergoes “radical cancer treatments” for invasive breast cancer.
