Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner is back in front of the camera after a lengthy recovery period from his horrific 2023 New Year’s Day accident in Paramount+’s Mayor of Kingstown season three. The streaming service announced the third season’s June 2, 2024 premiere date in a 30-second teaser.
Renner suffered 38 broken bones and was near death after being run over in a freak snow plow accident. After multiple surgeries and months of physical therapy, Renner was able to return to work in early January 2024.
Returning cast members include Hugh Dillon as Ian, Taylor Handley as Kyle McLusky, Emma Laird, Tobi Bamtefa Deverin “Bunny” Washington, Derek Webster as Stevie, Nishi Munshi as Tracy, Hamish Allan-Headley as Robert, and Michael Beach as Kareem Moore. Dillon and Taylor Sheridan co-created the series and executive produce along with Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, and Bob Yari.

Exclusive: Paramount+ is rounding out cast for the upcoming third season of Mayor of Kingstown, starring Jeremy Renner.
Michael Beach, who has recurred in the first two seasons, will return as a series regular for Season 3 in his role as Kareem Moore, one of the prison guard captains in Kingstown (see photo below). Additionally Richard Brake (Barbarian), Denny Love (Looking for Alaska) and Paula Malcomson (Deadwood) will join in recurring roles. The prisoners are all being moved to different facilities, and Bunny (Tobi Bamtefa) is out of the loop. He demands to speak to Mike but Carney (Lane Garrison) plays tough guy and refuses. Carney says the Crips will be dispersed to jails all over the area, and Bunny doesn’t have any pull.
Bunny warns Carney that he’ll find out who allowed this and there will be retribution. Finally, Carney hands over his phone and lets Bunny call Mike.
