Latto recently stepped out in her hometown of Atlanta. She announced that she’s headlining Hot 107.9’s Birthday Bash on June 22. During the press conference, the “Muwop” rapper surprised fans with her noticeably toned-down look — a natural version of the Latto we know and love, especially after her looks at Paris Fashion Week.

At the end of February, Latto visited the City of Light for the Rabanne and Off-White Fall/Winter 2024-25 runway shows as part of Paris Fashion Week. The 25-year-old’s face looked notably more snatched than usual. Her eyebrows formed straight, angled lines down toward the center of her face.

The sidelines at the University of Colorado football games have resembled Grammy and Oscar week in L.A. since Deion Sanders, aka “Coach Prime,” took over as head football coach this season. A-listers from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to Lil Wayne, Rick Ross and Kawhi Leonard have shown up to see the Buffaloes run the field, and the star power is poised to continue as the team takes on UCLA at the already sold-out Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena on Saturday.
“I can assure you as a sports commentator and reporter for years, I’ve never had any reason to talk about the University of Colorado football,” says Stephen A. Smith, host of ESPN’s First Take. “Never thought about it until he arrived there. I’d never been to Boulder, Colorado, in my life. I’ve already been there twice. A playing card featuring Memphis Grizzlies star point guard Ja Morant has increased in value after Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, the couple embroiled in a dispute over payments from the film The Blind Side, were spotted in the background.
The Tuohys are in a dispute with former NFL tackle Michael Oher, whom they took in as a teenager and later signed to a conservatorship. Oher claims he was duped and is owed money, a contention the Tuohys deny.
Oher claims he earned nothing from The Blind Side, which depicted his rise from homeless teen to the NFL.
That drama has caused the value of a particular playing card to rise. Fans noticed the Tuohys on a Morant rookie playing card from 2019.

When Memphis rapper Key Glock, born Markeyvius Cathey, walked into a conference room in Midtown Manhattan earlier this year, the 25-year-old musician had been doing what all rich people do when they visit New York City: shopping. “I went to Saks’s Fith Avenue, spent about $7,500, feel me?” he said, smiling with a chain that says “Cutthroat” in a font that would make Master P grin.
Glock’s music is historically not a statement of record for the sheepish and the gentle. His music is so piercing and full of...

Toosii delivered the mood on Monday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The singer and rapper performed his hit single “Favorite Song” flanked by roses, candles, purple-tinged smoke, and a pianist.
The song’s opening was swapped by softer vocals, as opposed to the track’s original synthesized verse, and set the tone for the rest of the song as Toosii sang an effortless rendition of the fan favorite. Accompanied by a band and backup vocalist, the artist slipped off the piano top as he sang the chorus,...

“Formula” can be a dirty word among music fans. For many, it evokes thoughts of unimaginative, knackered music by artists dropping off uninspired fan service just to say they did. Artists are pressured by sects of fans to expand their lyrical content, create versatile projects, and promise new innovations with every album. Sometimes, the right sonic pivot changes the scope of popular music. And other times, they get artists on lists of bad albums by brilliant artists.
Everyone can appreciate some sonic wandering, but sometimes, as is the case with Atlanta rapper Young Nudy,...

Smoky casinos, ceaselessly chiming slot machines, and drinking that happens so early it almost perverts the concept of day-drunk — Las Vegas has it all. This year, it also had the Grammys. Outside the main event, the 2022 edition of “Music’s Biggest Night” didn’t draw as many parties as it has in the past, but it turned out less was more this time around — a phrase surely never before uttered in the land of buffets and 8 a.m. cocktails.

The late, great Adolph Robert Thornton Jr. spent his entire rap career campaigning to be the King of Memphis, through his soul-stirring music and a selfless generosity to his community that felt as large as the signature diamond-encrusted Paper Route Empire dolphin that stayed around his neck. On a warm and somber day, Dec. 16 — nearly a month after his life was tragically cut short — Young Dolph’s life was celebrated in royal fashion at Memphis’ FedEx Forum, in a building full of family, peers, friends, and supporters from all across Tennessee.

When news broke of the tragic death of Memphis rapper Young Dolph on the afternoon of Nov. 18, it was a sorrowful reminder of the way violence has robbed us of so many hip-hop greats. Dolph, born Adolph Robert Thornton Jr. in Chicago and raised in Memphis, was innately talented. He possessed the kind of laconic Southern swagger that by now is enshrined in hip-hop mythology. A fiercely independent outlaw from the outskirts of the mainstream, able to fire off a chart-topping record nonetheless.

Rod Wave scored his first Number One on the Rolling Stone Top 200 Albums chart with SoulFly, easily brushing aside Justin Bieber’s Justice, which fell to Number Two. Unlike Justice, SoulFly — which follows last year’s Pray 4 Love — has few high-powered guest vocalists or big-name producers. But that hardly mattered: The 19-song set cruised to Number One behind 160 million streams.

Rod Wave previously reached Number Two on the Rs 200 with Pray 4 Love.
Sixteen new albums enter the chart this week, led by Young Dolph and Key Glock’s Dum and Dummer 2, the followup to 2019’s Dum and Dummer, at Number Two.

Juicy J has dropped his video for “1995” featuring Logic. The song appears on his newly released The Hustle Continues via eOne.
In the Justin Fleischer and Mike Holland-directed video, Juicy J and Logic reflect on how and what they were doing in the year 1995 and how that relates to where they are now. Logic opens with his verse. “My lane different, too sufficient, my brain different,” he raps of that time period. “I’m ill though, 15, mastered the skill though.” Juicy J recalls “Whipping through North Memphis back in 1995/Screamin’ ‘Mafia’ had my city hypnotized.
