The emotional phase of the Egghead Island arc has just started in the One Piece anime, and fans are not ready for it. One Piece episode 1106, which was released on May 25, marked the beginning of the backstory of Bartholomew Kuma and Jewelry Bonney as Bonney entered the Nikyu room and found her father’s memories.
Bonney Enter Kuma’s Memories in One Piece Anime | Toei Animation
The episode has quite a few interesting narratives, like Sentomaru ordering the new Pacifista models to defend their creator (Dr. Vegapunk) from the Navy and World Government, and Morgans announcing to the world that Dr. Vegapunk is kidnapped by the Straw Hat Pirates, and they have gotten into an all-out war with the Navy.
However, the only thing that One Piece fans cared about the most in the episode that left them in emotional turmoil was when Bonney got to see her father in his worst state.

In the world of action heroes, Jack Reacher is arguably one of the most famous ones. Based on the fan-favorite crime thriller novel series by Lee Child, he has some really extreme characters in his saga, making it all the more interesting than ever before. That said, when it comes to the people who played him in live-action, there are only two names: Tom Cruise and Alan Ritchson.

While Cruise’s version of this action hero was undeniably pretty short, the six feet two inches tall towering Ritchson changed that through his embodiment of the character in the Prime Video series. However, when it comes to the height chart in this hero’s live-action franchise, then it seems that even Ritchson would look dwarfed as the series casts the world’s tallest bodybuilder in the show!
Warning: Contains Spoilers for the Reacher Series Ahead.

Reacher is gearing up to welcome a memorable character plucked from the pages of Lee Child’s book Persuader as Olivier Richters has been cast in the role of Paulie, according to CinemaBlend. The actor nicknamed “The Dutch Giant,” who has featured in films like Black Widow and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, will take on the role of a deranged bodybuilder who serves as a bodyguard for Zachary Beck, a new character played by Anthony Michael Hall. In Season 3, the story will follow the events of Lee Child’s aforementioned novel Persuader, in which Reacher (Alan Ritchson) visits the coastal region of Maine, going undercover in the castle lair of Beck, whose son is almost kidnapped. Fearful of his employers, Beck relies on bodyguards to keep his family safe, among which is Paulie. And based on Richters’ appearance, he certainly fits the character description as Paulie was...

Reacher's back -- unfortunately, he's not alone. Author Lee Child's airport-paperback novel series famously stars a hero that can only be described as a walking, talking tank. Prime Video's "Reacher" series has neatly translated the franchise's popularity on the page to the streaming era, thanks in large part to Alan Ritchson (recently the scene-stealing star of Guy Ritchie's "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare") as Jack Reacher. A far cry from Tom Cruise's capable (if not even remotely book-accurate) casting in the two movies, Ritchson embodies all the physicality described in the original books. After two successful seasons throughout the last few years, however, Reacher is due for his biggest challenge yet ... speaking extremely literally, of course.
Reacher's greatest enemy now has an equally as formidable actor attached to the role. According to CinemaBlend, the hulking villain known as Paulie will be played by Olivier Richters in all his seven feet,...

The first season of Reacher became an unexpected hit – the adaptation of Lee Child's novels attracted viewers unfamiliar with the source material, as well as fans of the books who complained that the character previously played by Tom Cruise was far from what Child described.
The second season came out almost two years after the release of the first, and the show was renewed for a third season at the end of 2023. And only recently new information has emerged – a new chapter of Reacher's story will be released in 2025.
It's still a long wait, so here are five TV shows to help you pass the time while you wait for the new season.

Los Angeles, April 28 (Ians) ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ could very well be one of the most loved songs but its creator, Jon Bon Jovi wasn’t impressed with the song initially.
The 62-year-old rock icon recently opened up about his four-decades-long career and recalled that he didn’t initially connect with the band’s chart-topping 1986 hit, reports ‘People’ magazine.
He told ‘People’, “It wasn’t that I didn’t want to record it, but I wasn’t all that impressed on the day that we wrote it.”
Upon writing the song, “it was the simple chord progression, the melodies and the lyrics” at first. “But the bass line came to life in the demo studio, when we took it back to the band and worked it up,” reflected the Grammy winner. “That’s how it became what it is”.
He further mentioned, “We knew what we wanted, we just didn’t have it,...

Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name” remains one of the most beloved classic rock songs of the 1980s. Bon Jovi’s co-writer said he wrote it in a place that reminded him of an infamous scene from a horror film. Fascinatingly, the lyrics of an earlier Bon Jovi song partially inspired “You Give Love a Bad Name.”
Bon Jovi’s ‘You Give Love a Bad Name’ has a connection to Kiss
Desmond Child is a professional songwriter who became famous for working with classic rock acts like Alice Cooper (“Poison”), Aerosmith (“Dude Looks Like a Lady”), and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts (“I Hate Myself for Lovin’ You”), as well as pop singers such as Katy Perry (“Waking Up in Vegas”), Ricky Martin (“Livin’ la Vida Loca”), and Ava Max (“Kings & Queens”). One of his most famous songs is Kiss’ disco/hard rock smash “I Was Made for Lovin’ You.

One of the most overexposed classic rock songs ever is Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer” — and yet, some fans miss its meaning. Jon Bon Jovi revealed the tune was inspired by one of the defining political ideas of the 1980s. On top of that, “Livin’ on a Prayer” was influenced by the singer’s romantic life.
How Ronald Reagan inspired Bon Jovi’s ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’
On the surface, “Livin’ on a Prayer” is a song about a couple trying to make a life for themselves while they don’t have much money. It’s easy to understand the tune as a simple self-empowerment anthem. However, Jon Bon Jovi himself connected it to the political milieu of the 1980s.
The BBC reports that the singer said “Livin’ on a Prayer” was about the economic policies of President Ronald Reagan. “I wrote that song during the Reagan era...

In the mid-1980s, Jon Bon Jovi was preparing for his make-or-break third album with his namesake band Bon Jovi. The album that would eventually be known as Slippery When Wet was still in the planning stages when Jon and Richie Sambora were introduced to songwriter Desmond Child. During their first meeting, Child handed Jon a song title that would launch the band into the stratosphere, “You Give Love a Bad Name.” Jon’s jaw-dropping reaction predetermined the tune’s mega-success.
Jon Bon Jovi had a surprise reaction to ‘You Give Love a Bad Name’
In an interview for Shout it Out Loudcast, Desmond Child recalled first meeting Jon Bon Jovi and guitarist and songwriter Richie Sambora. During that meeting, the genesis of one of the band’s biggest hits took place.
Child recalled, “I went to New Jersey to write at this little wooden house at the end of this cul-de-sac.

Sure, Tom Cruise doesn’t look anything like the Jack Reacher character as described in the novels by Lee Child – but the average movie-goer didn’t seem to mind in 2012, when audiences showed up to make the film Jack Reacher, written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie (based on Child’s novel One Shot) a box office success. Made on a budget of $60 million, Jack Reacher earned over $218 million worldwide. It looked like Cruise had a new franchise on his hands. But sometimes bizarre decisions are made in the name of franchise filmmaking. With McQuarrie busy working on a different Cruise franchise (Mission: Impossible), the Jack Reacher sequel was passed over to Cruise’s The Last Samurai director Edward Zwick. A promising start. But then the questionable decisions began, resulting in a sequel – 2016’s Jack Reacher: Never Go Back – that fell short of its predecessor in every way.

Following "Reacher" season 1, which set Prime Video viewing records back in 2022, wasn't going to be easy. But the second season of the show was just as sharp and self-aware as its predecessor, while also managing to feel a whole lot bigger. Most of that was because the production wasn't hindered by pandemic-imposed restrictions this time around. But the book on which it was based, "Bad Luck and Trouble," was also an arguably more epic tale than "Killing Floor," the novel used as the basis for season 1.
All in all, author Lee Child has written 28 Jack Reacher books in 26 years, plus a short story collection and a guide to the world of Reacher called "Rules." "Killing Floor" is the first novel in the run, but due to the plethora of source material, "Reacher" showrunner Nick Santora was able to pretty much pick any of the books he liked for season 2. Lee Child's "Jack Reacher" books are tasty slabs of red meat for those who prefer their pulpy action hard-boiled, providing readers with a motley collection of crime investigations, despicable bad guys, and a hero who's the sort of unstoppable force that could make an immovable object shuffle a little. And so far, Prime Video's "Reacher" has stayed largely faithful to that ethos. The show might not hold up under critical scrutiny, but it's not meant to. Child's original novels are page-turners designed to be consumed in a single go by anyone and everyone regardless of their familiarity with the greater franchise, and the series is cut squarely from the same cloth.
Be that as it may, those who invest themselves in the extended "Reacher" mythology will be rewarded for their efforts. Throughout extensive flashbacks, season 1 fleshes out Jack Reacher's backstory, starting with his days as a military brat...

Generally, Jack Reacher is a lone wanderer. He strolls into town, stumbles upon a situation, and uses his ludicrous stature to put the world to rights. Job done. But on TV, the formula is a little different. For the most part, Prime Video’s Reacher is hailed as a faithful take on Lee Child’s novel series, successfully capturing the spirit of the stoic man-mountain (helped by the spot-on casting of the gigantic Alan Ritchson). But the biggest change the show makes is keeping a more consistent cast of characters orbiting its central hero – particularly Maria Sten’s Sgt Frances Neagley.
While Neagley only appears in a small handful of Child’s books she’s been a significant presence in the show from the very beginning. And there’s a very specific reason why. “Neagley was a strategic decision. The one thing you cannot do on screen that you can...

I used to read Lee Child's Jack Reacher books when I traveled, burning through a paperback on a long flight. Post-pandemic, I don't find myself in planes that often anymore, but I need still need my regular fix of preposterous action, hard-boiled mystery, and glorious tough guy nonsense. So the world of Reacher, built around a hulking former U.S. Army cop who travels the country as a homeless drifter and solves crimes/snaps necks along the way, now lives in my ears. I've gone full audiobook. Child's famous "frictionless" prose is ideal gym listening -- you don't need to concentrate too hard when you're on the treadmill, as the plotting is designed to go down real easy. Jack Reacher books are written to be enjoyed effortlessly by a wide audience, after all. Even a listener who is struggling through mile three of that daily jog can enjoy every twist and turn.

[This story contains spoilers from the finale of Reacher‘s second season.]
Viewers of Reacher have now had one week to decompress, perhaps rewind, and think about how archvillain Shane Langston (Robert Patrick) finally got his in the season two finale.
After saving love interest Karla Dixon (Serinda Swan) from dropping mid-air out of a helicopter, Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) — while strapped to a gurney and with a knife stuck in his arm — goes to retrieve Langston and deliver him the same fate that had been handed to many of our series hero’s friends: being thrown out of a flying aircraft.
The scene was rewarding to viewers of Prime Video’s action-packed hit series. And it turns out that scene was also one of the highlights for Reacher showrunner Nick Santora. Santora doesn’t make light of how much he is a fan of both author Lee Child’s books (the source material for the series) and his lead actor, Ritchson.

Jack Reacher won’t be working alone in season three of Reacher.
The Prime Video series — one of the biggest shows on the Amazon platform — will feature the return of Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, Reacher’s (Alan Ritchson) former military colleague, in its third season. Prime Video renewed Reacher for a third season before its season two premiere in December and is in production on the next set of episodes.
Prime Video also revealed Wednesday that season three will be based on Persuader, the seventh of author Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novels (which currently No. 28). The season will find Reacher going undercover to rescue an informant being held by someone from Reacher’s past. Neagley doesn’t appear in the book, so her presence in the series will diverge from the text.

The second season of Reacher may be over, but the wait shouldn’t be too long for Jack Reacher’s (Alan Ritchson) next adventure to grace our screens. The series was renewed for a third season by Prime Video even before Reacher became the most-watched show on the streaming service for 2023, and according to Ritchson’s instagram, filming for the next season appears to already be underway.

This post contains spoilers for "Reacher" season 2
Season 1 of Prime Video's "Reacher" was a big hit for the streamer, topping the Nielsen streaming charts back in 2022. Now, with the arrival of season 2, Jack Reacher has triumphed once again. Not only has he overcome Robert Patrick's insidious Shane Langston in an explosive season finale, but he's once again garnered enough ratings to hit the number 2 spot on the Nielsen charts for the show's first week of release (Nielsen releases their stats a lot later than you'd think).
This all suggests that Prime Video has a reliable hit on its hands with "Reacher." Prior to the show's debut, two Tom Cruise-starring films came and went, upsetting fans of Lee Child's Jack Reacher novels in the process who felt that Cruise's diminutive stature wasn't quite the embodiment of Child's hulking ex-Military Police officer. But "Reacher" introduced the 6-ft 3-inch,...

Say what you will about the man, but Jack Reacher sure knows how to punch bad people real good. "Reacher" itself is no slouch when it comes to adapting the sanguinary action in Lee Child's source material for the small screen. There's rarely an episode of the Prime Video series where its namesake (Alan Ritchson) doesn't put his distinctive fighting style to use, wielding his elbows like multipurpose weapons the way John Wick deploys his guns. (Is "Elbow-fu" an actual term? Because it should be.)
To their credit, the "Reacher" writers do their darndest to vary the environments when it comes to the show's altercations. One of the defining features of Lee Child’s Reacher novel series is its seemingly disconnected and self-contained nature, as a significant number of the titular protagonist’s adventures take him through totally different situations and experiences without bothering readers about continuity. The makers of Amazon Prime’s TV series of the same name adhered to this principle, which is how, after adapting Child’s first entry of the series, Killing Floor, in the first season, they jumped directly to the eleventh book of the series, Bad Luck and Troubles, to build upon the second one. As an introductory chapter, the first season of Reacher revolved around the exploitation of small-town resources by a greedy conglomerate and was relatively low-key in stakes, with a personal angle introduced through the death of Jack’s brother, Joe Reacher. In comparison, the second season aimed bigger, and along with a national-scale terrorism threat...

Max is turning off the heat on Julia.
The Warner Bros. Discovery-backed streamer has canceled its Julia Child-inspired series Julia following a two-season run. The news comes after the second season wrapped its run Dec. 21 and amid an era of belt tightening across the television landscape, with Julia joining Our Flag Means Death in being axed at the streamer this week alone. Season 1 of Prime Video's hit series "Reacher" was, by all accounts, a huge success. Not only did it break records for the service by topping the Nielsen charts, it finally gave fans a version of Jack Reacher much more faithful to Lee Child's book series, from which the show is adapted. Readers had been waiting for such a development ever since the relatively diminutive Tom Cruise fronted two films based on the novels but failed to project the physically intimidating presence that is such a hallmark of Child's ex-military police officer. The 6-ft 3-inch, 235-pound Alan Ritchson, on the other hand, proved to be the ideal Jack Reacher when Amazon and Skydance's streaming series hit Prime Video in 2022.
But while most fans were celebrating the arrival of a book-accurate Reacher, I couldn't help but feel the series felt just a little off. It certainly didn't hold back on the violence,...

Reacher season 2 is now upon us. The Lee Child literary character returns for another case and this new batch of episodes is based on another novel in the book series, titled Bad Luck and Trouble, the 11th installment in the ongoing franchise. In the review from our own Alex Maidy, he says, “Everything about the second season of Reacher is an improvement over the first, a rarity on television. More often than not, shows enter a sophomore slump by trying to double down on what made the first season work well…This season is more fun, funnier, and worth investing in than the last time around and will surely build new fans for the franchise.” You can read his full take Here.
Alan Ritchson is the breakout star of Reacher, and after Tom Cruise’s cinematic interpretation, Ritchson is seen as a more faithful adaptation to Child’s description of the character.

[This story contains mild spoilers to the three-episode premiere of season two of Reacher.]
During the three-episode opener of Reacher’s season two premiere, audiences found the nomadic muscle-bound former leader of an elite military unit in Lee Child’s best-selling novels trying to live the same discreet unnoticeable life as best as a 6-foot-5 Herculean-framed man could do.
All Jack Reacher, played by Alan Ritchson, wants to do is stay to himself, explore America, and quietly observe the compulsions and actions of everyday people. It’s not really his desire to socialize or get involved in the lives of others, but as the first episode of season two confirms, his code of what is right and wrong won’t let the former military officer sit back when he sees a crime in progress.
In this case, he senses a woman nervously taking money out of an Atm machine to deliver to a carjacker, who is holding her child hostage down the street.

Bestselling author Lee Child's "Jack Reacher" book series focuses on a protagonist who never, ever fails. The titular Reacher is a one-man unit, untraceable and unkillable, who moves efficiently from one place to another like a phantom and bests the bad guys by the end of every case. However, Reacher's humanity is an essential aspect of his character — his deliberate isolation is a double-edged sword, a cross he has to bear for the sake of being the best at what he does. Prime Video's "Reacher," with its second season now underway, perfectly balances this aspect of Reacher's personality, with Alan Ritchson bringing the beloved hero to life in all his dynamic, idiosyncratic glory as he moves on from Margrave and solves a fresh mystery in the upcoming season.

Ambition paired with jealousy can be a dangerous cocktail. Especially when gender expectations are thrown into the mix.
Prestige offerings, from “Fair Play” and “Oppenheimer” to “Past Lives” and “Lessons in Chemistry,” have mined that tricky terrain this year. “Maestro” and the latest seasons of female-led “Julia” and “The Morning Show” have tackled it as well.
And while men suffer the slings and arrows of jealousy in several high-profile Oscar contenders, women arguably experience more fallout from it than their male counterparts. This goes for female characters who are ambitious themselves or those partnered with men who suck all the air out of the room, as in “Oppenheimer” and “Maestro.”

This post contains spoilers for the first three episodes of "Reacher" season 2.
When a band of thugs break into Jack Reacher's hotel room in Lee Child's "Bad Luck and Trouble," they find no luggage to go through, save for a toothbrush they snap angrily in half. When Reacher finds out, he's understandably pissed: the toothbrush was the only thing he was carrying while drifting from place to place, save for passports that he kept on his person. There's a reason why Child's 11th novel in the "Jack Reacher" series was such a sensation when it hit the stands. This was the first time Reacher was forced to abandon his vagabond ways and work closely with a team of friends he had not spoken to for years. This sudden sense of destabilization, coupled with the realization that his friends were the targets of a dark conspiracy, pushed Reacher to depths never breached before.
