Warning: Do not keep reading if you haven't watched the first three episodes of "House of Cards" Season 2 yet. On deck for Tuesday (Feb. 18), "Chapter 16."
Where we are:
This episode focuses on avoiding a government shutdown, with Frank extending an olive branch to the Republicans of agreeing to raise the retirement age and make some entitlement reform if the Republicans will pass the omnibus bill.
The way Frank figures, the retirement age is going to be raised eventually, so why not make a show of bipartisanship and get credit?
Everything seems fine, with Frank working with Senate Majority Leader Hector Mendoza to hammer out a compromise and get him to write in a formal agreement that if the Senate passes the retirement age amendment, it will signify passage of the entire omnibus bill.
Except Tea Party leader Curtis Haas balks and takes his caucus with him. The Republicans' absence means...

The upcoming season of Arrested Development will feature 14 episodes that each tell their own story. Each one will have elements that connect to each other, eventually giving a bigger picture when the whole season has been watched. As Alyssa Rosenberg of Think Progress notes, that makes it the first TV show that can be watched in any order, making it a show that can be watched in a nonlinear fashion, something that could only be achieved on a streaming service like Netflix.
Apparently, ABC chief Paul Lee was so enthusiastic about Joss Whedon's S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot when talking to reporters at the TCA that its difficult to imagine it not making the fall schedule.

Here's even more reason to keep hoping for Last Resort to survive (aside from being a very compelling show): Sam Page will appear on the thriller, playing the brother of military contractor, Kylie.
Happy Endings has found Brad's new boss — David Alan Grier will play the role.
I've repeatedly suppressed the urge to wish for Count Vertigo to appear on Arrow. He's the only Green Arrow villain I know (aside from heroin addiction) but he also doesn't belong to the non-powered corner of the DC Universe. Thus, imagine my surprise at the news that Vertigo will be the season's big villain... and interestingly he'll have some version of his powers. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for Cheshire, though.
Reelz will air the second season of Bomb Girls.
ABC is developing a comedy starring out Chelsea Lately panelist Fortune Feimster.

Lie to Me kicked off 2011 with Cal-apaloosa, as "Funhouse" and "Rebound" being shown back-to-back.
The two installments had two things in common: first, Lightman took both jobs to help a child; second, Lightman was as great as he has ever been.
While the writing for both episodes was exceptional, I found that I was really drawn to "Funhouse" a bit more. From Lightman eating a banana while sitting calmly in the middle of a patient fight where everyone else was standing, to him talking to his mother, who very well played by Paula Malcomson, I thought the episode was one of the best ever done.
I will freely admit that I have been a big fan of Malcomson since I first saw her on Deadwood years ago. But, really, it was Tim Roth who made the episode as satisfying as it was. He did such a great job of acting drugged up,...

Welcome back to another edition of Tvf's Gossip Girl Round Table, where our panelists break down Monday's episode (see our review of "Goodbye, Columbia" earlier).

1. What was your favorite Gossip Girl quote from last night?
Gossip Guy: The very beautiful Juliet's "She made a flow chart actually, which I have to say is very helpful." I love it when this show goes meta and makes fun of real life web postings by veiling them under Gossip Girl.
Mister Meester: Tie between Blair's "If only there were a device of some kind to keep the time" and Chuck's explanation of a rotunda is. So dry and passive-aggressively hilarious, since he knew that wasn't why she exclaimed "the what?!" Vintage Chuck.

Chair will rediscover the passion soon ... for better And worse.

This week's Gossip Girl was entitled "Goodbye, Columbia." We also would have accepted "Now That's More Like It," since it was vintage Gossip Girl from beginning to end, with no more filler, dancing around bigger issues or promising bigger things down the line.
The war was just plain On last night, with all of the sarcasm, ridiculously complex schemes, salacious plot lines and no-holds-barred backstabbing reminiscent of Season One.
In the end, Chuck and Blair fought to a virtual draw in this round, while in a separate battle, V paid the price and became collateral damage in Juliet's quest to ruin Serena.
Juliet is his priority now, Nate tells Serena. If only he knew the half of it.
Chuck pulling out all the stops to destroy Blair? Juliet finally getting her act in gear after four episodes of buildup and trying to ruin Serena for good? And Vanessa getting played?...

Jenny Humphrey is back on "Gossip Girl" next week. Although Blair made it perfectly clear that Little J was no longer welcome in Manhattan after what happened with Chuck, Jenny is tempted by a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Tim Gunn, which could be a game changer for her future.
This particular storyline is ironic considering the backstage fact that Gunn was not in good term with Jenny's depicter Taylor Momsen. Back in September, the "Project Runway" guru said about the starlet, "What a diva! She was pathetic, she couldn't remember her lines, and she didn't even have that many. I thought to myself 'why are we all being held hostage by this brat?' "
Gunn also revealed a backstage secret, saying all the crew including the director was annoyed at Momsen. "At one point the director leaned in and whispered to me, 'this is day in, day out, my life.

I don’t know about you BFFs, but it was very difficult for me to watch tonight’s episode as the Gossip Girl clan was sucked into Juliet Sharp’s (Katie Cassidy) vicious games!
Here’s what happened: First, the anonymous Gossip Girl sent out a message that said Serena (Blake Lively) was infected with an Std. This worried her former lovers Nate (Chace Crawford) and Dan (Penn Badgley), which in turn worried their current girlfriends Juliet and Vanessa (Jessica Szhor), respectively.
Vanessa and Juliet decided to steal Serena’s purse to see if their BFs had been talking to Serena behind their backs, but this was really part of a much larger plan Juliet had all along! She sent Serena’s professor an email from her phone,...

Jenny (and her stringy platinum) hair will be returning to Gossip Girl on October 25. Below is a synopsis and promo photos from The CW.
Tim Gunn Guest Stars / Jenny’S (Taylor Momsen) Back!
Although Blair (Leighton Meester) made it perfectly clear that Little J was no longer welcome in Manhattan after what happened with Chuck (Ed Westwick), Jenny (Taylor Momsen) is tempted by a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Tim Gunn (“Project Runway”), which could be a game changer for her future.
Meanwhile, Serena (Blake Likely) discovers something about her new boyfriend, Colin (guest star Sam Page), that may put an end to their relationship just as it was getting good. Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Jessica Szohr, Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle also star.

Blake Lively was decked out in purple Elie Saab, a pair of Louboutins, and a loose side braid as she stepped out to celebrate Tiffany & Co.'s new Spring sunglasses collection yesterday in NYC. Earlier this week, The Town actress rocked a sexy, sequined look to tape her appearance on The Late Show, which airs tonight. She's been keeping busy after hours with parties and promotional duties, but her days have been devoted to work on Gossip Girl. Blake taped some romantic scenes alongside her new onscreen love interest, Sam Page, this month and shared a sweet Pda with her real-life love, Penn Badgley, on the set last week. View 5 Photos ›...

Blake Lively looked lovely in lace on the Gossip Girl set today in NYC as she shared a steamy kiss with her new onscreen love interest Sam Page. The actress is riding high on the box-office success of The Town, which grossed more than her costar and real-life boyfriend Penn Badgley's Easy A over the weekend. Chace Crawford was also hard at work this morning, though he had a break from his own hot small-screen makeout sessions. We'll get to see the latest exploits of the Upper East Siders this evening when another drama-filled episode airs. View 5 Photos ›...

She’s one of the hottest actresses out there, and one lucky co-star was spotted locking lips with Blake Lively on the “Gossip Girl” set on Monday (September 20).
Clad in a sexy number, the Serena van der Woodson actress puckered up with studly actor Sam Page several times before getting the shot just right.
Coming up tonight, the second episode of “Gossip Girl” season four airs at 9/8c.
Per the CW’s website, "Blair ( Leighton Meester) is pursued by a handsome young man, Louis (guest star Hugo Becker) in Paris, who she suspects is a member of Monaco's royal family. A very concerned Lily ( Kelly Rutherford) asks Serena (Blake Lively) to help her find Chuck ( Ed Westwick), who hasn't been heard from or seen in months. Blake Lively was spotted with a new co-star today -- and, sorry " Gossip Girl " fans, but it doesn't look like Serena van der Woodsen will be going back to Dan Humphry anytime soon. Wearing a gorgeous grey, beaded dress, Lively was photographed kissing Sam Page while filming at The Met. Though she was smooching Sam, her real life boyfriend is Penn Badgley , who's also on the show. Lively's coming off of a great weekend -- her new movie " The Town " opened at #1 with $23mil. It looks like Jenny Humphrey's fall return has officially been confirmed, though she won't be back for good until 2011. It doesn't appear that Blair is too happy to see her.
As for the lovely Serena? Guest star Sam Page is seen here escorting her, and if you can take your eyes off what she's wearing, the look like they could be a cute couple ...

In not so shocking news, the star’s chest was on full display while filming the upcoming season!
Two of the most popular re-occurring characters on Gossip Girl, Blake Lively’s boobs, were out in full display on Aug. 31 in NYC. Like in Sex in the City, NY is considered to be a silent character on the series — but it’s safe to venture that Blake’s boobs are just as prominent as blonde Serena bops around in strategically buttoned man-tailored shirts (without any bottoms) and mini dresses. Ironically, the star was covered up while filming a scene with co-star Sam Page wearing long sleeves and pants, however, her chest was completely exposed. Considering we’ve spent the past few seasons watching Serena Van der Woodsen defy gravity in some of the most strategic tops, dresses, and jackets it looks like nothing has changed! Imagine if everyone started wearing cleavage-revealing jackets?...

Teaming up for another day's work, Leighton Meester and Blake Lively were busy shooting a colorful scene for the forthcoming season of "Gossip Girl" in New York City on Tuesday (August 17).
Both decked out in bright yellow-dominated ensembles, the scenes also involved two new characters - both of whom wore keys around their neck matching Leighton's Blair Waldorf character.
In related news, recent reports from EW tell that Miss Lively's character is getting a new love interest in actor Sam Page.
While Page’s first episode will air sometime in October, the hit CW show’s fourth season begins in September.

Highlights? Well, not quite. John Barrowman was on for a total of 2 minutes, 12 seconds.
Before that we had to endure the long, agonizing ordeal known as the "Chocolate War" between Gabrielle (Eva Longoria Parker) and the insufferable Susan (Teri Hatcher, who still plays every scene as if she's being poked with a cattle prod).
The ladies duke it out to see which of their kids can sell the most chocolate bars, so we get the inevitable scenes of Gabby in a low-cut dress at a construction site ... and Susan pretending her son is a paraplegic. Seriously, what is this woman's problem?
... before turning the gun on herself.
Of course it never occurs to either woman that it would make things a hell of a lot easier to just buy the damn chocolate themselves, but if that happened, it would deprive us of the "life lesson" that's learned, in which both...

Three things I want to get out the way before we begin this recap: 1) It's late. I suck. Moving on. 2) ABC airing this episode during closing ceremony of the Olympics was an epic mistake (10 million viewers tuned in, lowest in Dh history)! 3) I pray that people won't be lost when the show returns later this month.
Let's Begin…
Lynette and Penny
While Tom and Lynette argue over the name for the new baby girl (names in contention are Polly and Patricia), the forget the birthday of the current "baby" in the house: Penny. And boy is she not amused. When an attempt at fixing their faux pas ends in disaster (Lynette gets Penny a birthday cake that reads "Happy Birthday, Polly!" Yikes!), Penny does the sensible thing that any suburban kid would do: she runs away.
But not too far as she stole Lynette and Tom's credit card and purchased a semi swank hotel room,...

News broke last week that Heather Locklear will be returning to Melrose Place this fall, but if having to wait until August to see the bitch return has gotten you down, never fear, this week's Melrose Place has something for you. Original cast member Josie Bissett will reprise her role as Jane Andrews Mancini, the sister to the now dead Sydney. And it seems that Jane is quite the spunky little one these days as she'll take control of the building that she has inherited from Sydney. She'll also use her super-bitch status to convince Ella (Katie Cassidy) to allow her to dress one of her up-and-coming clients in a Jane Mancini original design for an upcoming movie premiere. And if you think that sounds exciting, its only the beginning. You can read all of the details below in the official press release from The CW.

I hope everyone's in the mood for the return of more characters from the original Melrose Place, because another one will be popping up in episode 1.04, entitled Vine. Below we have the official CW synopsis for the episode, as well as a few promo photos. Enjoy!
Original Cast Member Josie Bissett Reprises Her Role As Jane Andrews Mancini — Jane Mancini (guest star Josie Bissett), Sydney’s (Laura Leighton) sister, comes to Melrose Place and announces that she inherited the building from Sydney. Jane threatens to show incriminating emails Ella (Katie Cassidy) sent to Syndey to the police unless Ella allows her to dress one of her up-and-coming clients for a movie premiere in a Jane Mancini original design. Desperate, Ella turns to David (Shaun Sipos) for help.
Detective Rodriguez (guest star Nicholas Gonzalez) shows up at Violet’s (Ashlee Simpson-Wentz) apartment asking questions about her connection to Sydney, but she flees though the window.

Over 130 stars have weighed in on the SAG strike authorization, coming out firmly against. Citing the economy, the A-listers “strongly” urged SAG members not to authorize a strike, and instead “take the high road … unite with our brothers and sisters in the entertainment community and … three years down the line … make a great deal” when all the union contracts expire roughly simultaneously.
Finally, we’re hearing from the A-listers, and it may be enough to pull SAG back from the brink. Meanwhile SAG Board members in NY and Chicago came out against the authorization over the weekend.
In addition, SAG President Alan Rosenberg was forced to cancel the emergency in-person National Board meeting he had scheduled for this Friday, after SAG activists pointed out in the strongest terms that Rosenberg had no right under the SAG constitution or state law to require that the meeting be in person, rather than by videoconference.
