- Was Miss Los Angeles County 1999 (a preliminary pageant to Miss America).
- Spent two summers at the School of American Ballet in New York's Lincoln Center.
- Was the recipient of the Bartholin Prize at Copenhagen's Royal Danish Ballet where she trained for two summers.
- Spent her sophomore year of high school at the North Carolina School of the Arts.
- She is a first generation American. Her mother, Nadia, was born in Cairo, Egypt. Her father, Michael, is from Mont St. Hilaire, a town outside Montreal, Canada.
- Has been teaching ballet to children and adults since the age of eighteen.
- Graduated from Loyola Marymount University, Cum Laude, with a degree in Theatre Arts.
- Was the winner of SiTV's original reality series "Urban Jungle".
- Used some of her "Urban Jungle" winnings to produce "Save Our Future", a documentary that shows what happens to a group of inner city teens when their charter high school is shut down.
- Has a Master of Arts degree in Education Counseling.
