Junior H and Natanael Cano will no longer perform at Rolling Loud California this weekend, Rolling Stone has learned.
In an Instagram post Monday, Jimmy Humilde, the owner and CEO of the artists’ record label, claimed that the festival had “canceled us last minute,” describing Rolling Loud as “racist.” However, Rolling Loud told Rolling Stone that the two artists were removed from the lineup because Cano had issues with his visa and Junior breached his contract.

Only one train goes to Canarsie.
Private houses with driveways and backyards line most blocks in the remote Brooklyn neighborhood, nestled in the southeast corner of the borough, overlooking the waters of Jamaica Bay. Late 20th-century white flight turned this 19th-century suburban getaway into a predominantly West Indian lower-middle-class neighborhood. Perceptively “boujee-er” than New York’s average hood, by the 2010’s Canarsie got its nickname the “Flossy” or “the Floss” for its residents’ reputation of being flashy and showing off.
On the night of February 19th, 2020, the children of the Flossy painted the town blue.

Aaron Judge has a few game-day rituals. First, he likes to chew bubblegum before stepping onto the field. There's also the importance of a good walk-up song: the baseball player, who was recently announced as the 16th captain for the New York Yankees, said he used to listen to "Hello" by Pop Smoke right before a game. Now, he's testing out some new options, much to the enjoyment of his wife, Samantha Bracksieck. "This is by far the toughest decision any baseball player has to make in the off season," Judge jokingly told Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show" on Jan. 23.
Judge explained his process. "I make a whole playlist. I have about 30 or 40 songs. I'm in my car. My wife gets mad at me," he said. "I'll be sitting there and I'll be like, 'Ok, this one. Now batting, number 99, Aaron Judge," and play it and then you know...

When I spoke to Ghanian rapper Black Sherif in May, he was attempting to make an artistic leap with the new music video for his hit song “Kwaku the Traveller.” Taking some shots from Polo G’s “Rapstar” video, it’s a banger and an example of the types of visuals and U.K. drill-inspired anthems that have made him so popular on TikTok, and why his star appears to be on the rise all over the globe.

From Warren Zevon and David Bowie to Gregg Allman and Pop Smoke and Mac Miller, posthumous albums recorded during an artist’s final months have become a sadly inevitable part of the pop landscape. That’s also the case with Things Happen That Way, the album Dr. John was working on when he died of a heart attack in June 2019. Now, three years after his passing, the album, which includes covers as well as some of his last newly written songs, will finally be heard when Rounder Records releases it on Sept.

Pusha T has released new single and video “Diet Coke.” Produced by Kanye West and 88-Keys with West cowriting, the song is expected to appear on the rapper’s follow-up album to 2018’s Daytona.
On the track, Pusha T playfully alludes to the coke you find on the streets, rather than the soft drink. “Imaginary players they may coach right/Master recipes under stove lights,” Pusha T raps. “The number on his jersey is the quote price/You ordered Diet Coke, that’s a joke, right/Everybody get it off the boat,...

‘’I was saying that they had amnesia about everything: The Cocaine City DVDs, the Coke Boys era, from Chinx to the Max B collaborations,” French Montana tells me. “I felt like they have had amnesia about my accomplishments.” The rapper spent the past couple of years out of the spotlight, in part to focus on fatherhood, in part to focus on his health. He quit drinking after being hospitalized in 2019 for exhaustion — or, as he put it, “turning up too much.”

The Weeknd is so good that he can earn Grammy nominations without even trying … literally. He vowed never to submit his music for Grammy consideration again after his shocking shutout from the nominations last year. But he nevertheless picked up three bids when the 2022 nominations were announced on November 23. How did that happen?
The answer is pretty simple. While The Weeknd declined to submit his own music for consideration, that didn’t stop other artists from submitting their collaborations with him. And that’s where all three of his nominations came from. He’s up for Best Melodic Rap Performance for Kanye West‘s “Hurricane.” That song’s parent album, “Donda,” received an Album of the Year bid, so The Weeknd is nominated there as well as a featured artist. And he has one more Album of the Year nomination as a featured artist on Doja Cat‘s “Planet Her.

2021 American Music Awards hip-hop predictions: Drake vs. Lil Baby? Megan Thee Stallion vs. Cardi B?
Drake, Cardi B, Lil Baby, and Megan Thee Stallion are among the big names nominated at the 2021 American Music Awards. From possible firsts to returning champs, let’s take a look at who might win this year in hip-hop categories.

This will likely be a face-off between Drake and Lil Baby. Both rappers have large fan bases and have ruled hip-hop for the last couple of years. I will give the slight edge to Drake; the success of “Certified Lover Boy” added to his pop crossover appeal and might seal the deal; having won this award before doesn’t hurt. Still, a core audience might go for the pure hip-hop of Lil Baby, who has undoubtedly amassed a strong following of his own. Also don’t underestimate an upset by Pop Smoke due to another commercially successful year...
