The cast and crew of A Christmas Horror Story have stuffed the cinematic stockings with a delightfully devious new take on the holiday season. With A Christmas Horror Story now out in select theaters and viewable on VOD and iTunes, Daily Dead caught up with Steve Hoban—one of the film's three directors—to discuss working with William Shatner, setting the horror anthology film in the same town from the Ginger Snaps movies, and much more.
Thanks for taking the time to converse with Daily Dead today. I really enjoyed A Christmas Horror Story and believe it will become a holiday cult classic that horror fans can happily unwrap each year. How did you get involved with this project and what appealed to you the most after reading the script for the first time?

Milla Jovovich is set to headline a new film based on the writing of Game Of Thrones' George R R Martin...
With season five of Game Of Thrones now just weeks away, spare us a minute to talk about another project based on the writing of George R R Martin.
In The Lost Lands is an upcoming feature film that's based on a trio of fantasy adventure short stories that Martin has written. One of the stories centres on a queen hiring a sorceress to travel to the said Lost Lands, to try and get the power of shape shifting. Another sees a warrior girl doing battle with a dragon to get to her former lover - only for things to take an unexpected turn. And then there's the story of a young barbarian, who founds herself spellbound by a lone witch while on board a spaceship.
Which all sounds like quite a mix.

If you couldn’t get enough of George R.R. Martin on the big screen over the weekend with the IMAX showings of Game of Thrones, the author’s work is heading to theaters once again. According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog, a few of Martin’s short stories are being turned into a movie called In the Lost Lands, and Milla Jovovich is set to star. The title comes from one of the stories, originally published in 1982, which is being intertwined with 1976’s “The Lonely Songs of Laren Dorr” and 1977’s “Bitterblooms.” Interestingly, not all of these tales seem to be of likeminded fantasy. While the first two involve familiar elements to Got fans, like sorcery and dragons, the last contains space travel. It’s not entirely clear from the initial announcement, but I’m assuming Jovovich will play a role mashed together from main characters from each of these three stories, even...

I'm currently making my way through George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire book series (on which HBO's Game of Thrones is based), but since I haven't finished those books yet, I haven't taken the time to look into any other fiction that Martin has written over the years. Turns out he's also written a series of short stories, which THR reports is now being adapted into a film called In the Lost Lands. Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich is in final talks to lead the film, and she'll star along with Shameless actor Justin Chatwin. Here's the synopsis of the three interconnected short stories:

George R.R. Martin is constantly plagued with questions surrounding the release of his next novel in the Song Of Ice and Fire series. Due to his slow writing pace, his work – the source material for HBO’s hugely popular Game Of Thrones – has nearly been superseded by the show itself. However, that’s not to say his phenomenal imaginative streak is limited to the realm of the Seven Kingdoms. Far from it, in fact.
Today we’ve received news that another set of his stories are now being adapted for the big screen under the title In The Lost Lands. Per THR, the feature adaptation will unite three of Martin’s stories into one movie by director Constantin Werner, who is currently courting Milla Jovovich for the lead, opposite Shameless star Justin Chatwin.
