Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher surprised fans when his band Beady Eye included two Oasis songs in their set Thursday night. This is the first time Gallagher has publicly played tracks from the Oasis catalog since the band's infamous split in 2009.
Beady Eye -- comprised of former Oasis band members Liam, Gem Archer, Andy Bellplayed and rounded by drummer Chris Sharrock -- performed two Noel Gallagher-penned tracks, "Rock 'N' Roll Star" and "Morning Glory." The band also premiered a new song, written by Liam, titled, "The World's Not Set in Stone."
Earlier this year, Gallagher announced his intention to start singing Oasis material again. "I feel they're just as much my songs as they are Noel's. And if people don't like it, go to the bar or f--k off," he told Xfm. "If they do like it, jump up and down, let's have a good time."

London, Dec 4: Former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher insists he wants Beady Eye, the group formed by his brother Liam, to be successful.
Beady Eyes members include Liam Gallagher, Chris Sharrock, Andy Bell and Gem Archer.
The 44-year-old insists he isn't happy that his debut solo album, 'Noel Gallagher's High-Flying Birds' did better business than Beady Eye's 'Bring the Light'.
'It's not fair for me to compare mine to theirs. I know you want me to say I danced around on a copy of their album or that I held them in each hand and had a mock fight between them but I genuinely don't give a s**t about.

Beady Eye have suggested they have "forgiven" Noel Gallagher. The "Bring the Light" rockers, made up of former Oasis band mates Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock, explained "life is too short" not to move on from their public spat with their former guitarist, who is Liam's brother.
"People might well hear it that way if they want. I'm well aware of that," Andy, who wrote the song, said when asked if the lyrics of "Kill for a Dream", which feature the lines "Life's too short not to forgive/ You can carry regrets but they won't let you live", are about Noel. "Look, whoever it's directed to, it's a true statement. Life really is too short not to forgive."

Beady Eye, photographed by Steve Gullick. Beady Eye were born on August 28, 2009, the night Oasis died. Backstage at Paris’s annual Rock en Seine festival, Noel and Liam Gallagher, bedeviling each other since childhood, entered into what would prove their final altercation (involving the smashing of Liam’s prize guitar and a hastily released statement from Noel explaining, “I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer”). Noel will eventually issue his solo debut, but it’s the younger Liam who is firing first. Britpop’s prettiest star (last year voted the Greatest Frontman of All Time by Q magazine, over James Brown, Mick Jagger, Freddie Mercury, and Bono) recently launched Pretty Green, his own fashion line (inspired by classic British Mod-gear of the early 60s) and on March 1 will release Different Gear, Still Speeding, by his new group Beady Eye (featuring former Oasis guitarist Gem Archer,...

Liam Gallagher says Oasis weren't "groundbreaking". The singer accepts his former band didn't push themselves enough creatively, despite becoming one of the biggest groups in the world before their demise in August 2009, when his guitarist brother Noel Gallagher quit.

Move along, nothing to see here. So it is with “Four Letter Word,” the first video from Beady Eye,” the new Noel-Gallagher-less remains of Oasis. Amid a psychedelic wash, we watch the group—composed of Liam Gallagher, Andy Bell, Gem Archer and Chris Sharrock— in full shoegazer mode, complete with wearing sunglasses to perform in the dark. It’s 1999 all over again. But what about the song? With its cascading, ominous guitar lines, straight-ahead drumming and Gallagher’s world-weary vocal delivery “Four-Letter Word” is straight out a James Bond movie (in fact, it would make a great theme with the "Nothing ever lasts...

Beady Eye are looking forward to being "massive" in 2011. The group, consisting of the former members of Oasis, Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock, will release their new album, "Different Gear, Still Speeding" in February and are expecting instant chart success.
"I think we're going to be f***ing big, man," Liam said. There's no point saying, 'Oh we might be kind of big,' otherwise what's the point? Because I know how good we are and I know how good we're gonna be. We're gonna be f***ing massive. Come back to us in a couple of years if I'm wrong and then fair play to you but."
The outspoken rocker, who formed the group after his brother Noel Gallagher quit Oasis in August 2009, believes the world is desperate for a group like Beady Eye because there have been so many uninspiring new rock bands in the last decade.

Liam Gallagher never wanted to give Beady Eye's music away for free. The singer, who is joined in his new group by former Oasis bandmates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock, insists it wasn't his idea to showcase their first track "Bring the Light" as an unpaid for download on the band's official website.
"It got everybody off the sofa and humping around like a bunch of f***ing monkeys," he said. "And that's what we're after. It wasn't my idea to give it away for f***ing nothing though. I'll tell you right now, I wasn't having that."
The rocker also revealed he was responsible for naming the new group, but insists they would have been successful regardless of their moniker. He added, "That was my idea. We'd come up with loads of names but that was the one that rang true for me."

Liam Gallagher thinks Beady Eye's debut album is as good as Oasis' "Definitely Maybe". The "Bring the Light" singer said he reckons his new band's "Different Gear, Still Speeding" can easily match the genre defining 1994 debut recorded by his former band, which propelled them to superstar status.
He told NME magazine, "The musicians are better than Oasis at the time of 'Definitely Maybe', without a doubt. I'm singing as well as I ever have." He added the album is "up there, no question" with "Definitely Maybe" and declared the band are "gonna be f***ing massive".
Beady Eye formed on the ashes of Oasis, who split after Liam fell out with his brother, the band's main songwriter, Noel Gallagher last summer, and sees Liam joined by ex-Oasis men Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock.
Gem has previously described recording their debut album with producer Steve Lillywhite, who has previously worked with The Rolling Stones.

Beady Eye will release their debut album, "Different Gear, Still Speeding", in February 2011. Liam Gallagher thinks his brother Noel is the most "overrated" man of all time. The singer - whose older sibling quit the super-group last August after tensions and feuding between the pair became intolerable - believes his brother is completely over-hyped. Discussing who he thought was the most overrated man in history, Liam told Esquire magazine: "Has to be Noel Gallagher." Liam, 37, is currently working on new material with his ex-Oasis bandmates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock, while 42-year-old Noel - who wrote the majority of Oasis' biggest hits - is preparing to launch a solo career. Although they can no longer work together, Liam believes Oasis were successful because they just concentrated on making great music.
